This beautiful bulb has several popular names like 

rain lily, 

fairy lily and 

zephyr lily, 

all talking about its magic. 

It's not a real magic, but it always surprises with the blooms. 

Zephyranthes has an abundancy of blooms after every rain and the flowers are growing so quickly, they seem to appear from nowhere, like in magic made with a rainy spell

This Lily is looking quite happy with me!!This was last season's bulb... which bloomed well... and by the end of winters i chopped off the old stem till soil level. One fine morning I noticed a regrowth. And finally today... The biggest blessing of Mother Nature... 2 buds.. one of which bloomed...

Amaryllis Lily

Q. My amaryllis is sprouting leaves, but no flower stem yet. Does this mean it won't bloom?

A. Some amaryllis bulbs sprout leaves first, and then the flower stalk emerges a little later. Others send up the flower stalk first, followed by the leaves. You should see the flower stalk peeking up between the leaves soon.

Q. Do I need to fertilize my amaryllis?

A. The stored bulb contains all the "food" your amaryllis needs to sprout and bloom. If you decide to keep your amaryllis for reblooming next year, you'll need to fertilize it like you would any houseplant.

Q. Can I use the blooms as cut flowers?

A. Yes! Amaryllis are becoming popular cut flowers, and, surprisingly, they often last longer in a vase — up to two weeks! — than they do when left growing on the plant. 

Q. How many flower stalks will my bulb produce?

A. This depends on the variety of amaryllis and the quality and size of the bulb. In general, the bigger is better.

Q. Do I leave the faded flowers on the plant or "deadhead" like I do my outdoor plants?

A. As individual flowers start to fade, you can carefully snip them off. Once all flowers on a flower stalk has faded, cut the stem back to within a few inches of the bulb.

Single flower Gladiola

Every flower has a Story….

Seeing this for the first time….

Generally, Gladiolus bears 11 flowers on a single stem….

But.. My Lazy Lad has to tell its story…

“I was planted in October along with all other gladiola bulbs.I was enjoying a lot in my place. I was fed well and taken good care…

I was feeling so relaxed that I went to sleep, thinking will start blooming at the right time..

I did not realize that I went into a deep sleep.One fine morning I woke up seeing all my colleagues bloomed and were laughing at me.I felt bad at myself.. 

but I had to follow the rules of mother nature…

I had to bloom…

I started opening up…. 

And the weather was not suitable…

I loved my mom so much that I could never hurt her.

She was taking good care of me even while I was sleeping.

So I bloomed and could open up with a single bloom….

Was feeling proud to see my mom smiling at me….

Yeah!!! I made her happy 

FOOTBALL  LILY

Haemanthus Multiflorus

Blood Lily

Scadoxus multiflorus

The flowers are arranged in umbel so it is given this name football lily and color suggests a name - blood lily.

This perennial grows from a rhizomatous bulb. 

Each plant will produce only one flowerhead in a season.

It has a false stem as leaves are wrapped together. 

Leaves may appear after flowering or with them. 

A false stem can grow up to 60 cm.Up to 100 individual flowers are produced in an umbel inflorescence

It is grown as an ornamental plant for its brilliantly colored flowersPlanting And Care• 

Give at least 2 to 3 hours of sunlight for indoors• 

Apply balanced liquid houseplant fertilizer each month during the growing phase•

 Reduce watering in late summer• 

Remove the spent flowers unless you are collecting the seed• 

Pruning is generally not required, just remove the spent flowers.

The plant may live for many years and flowers annually
