The funniest thing about that drawing is that Willow could easily just grow a tree at exact height as she wants or maybe even use her palisman to get to that height but dont, so they really just do it cause it is Gus. Gus is their Little Guy and they want to make him feel included (platonically). Gus doesnt want to get included

YOU UNDERSTAND!!! thats my favorite emerald trio + huntlow dynamic. where they actively try to make gus NOT feel like a third wheel when gus is totally fine with being a third wheel and would even prefer being the third wheel over whatever they keep trying to do
