i’m catching up on the qsmp debate and frankly, baghera bbh and gegg are really the stars here. baghera and bbh, while having different plans for the new governmental system, are at least campaigning to restructure and reject the system set up by the federation. gegg supplies the passion and ideology to reject the federation, and i think the three of them combined would be a very respectable force to be reckoned with.

that being said, i think it’s really funny how most of the candidates lump bbh and baghera together despite them having near opposite governmental structures in my mind. While bbh is promoting an informal and unstructured system based off of mutual aid and bond of word style honor, baghera is promoting a very structured council system with voting and community lead aid systems. yet the ‘true’ presidency candidates are lumping them together as the same ideology because they are both trying to challenge the system immediately, and thus cannot identify the nuances in their proposals.

gegg is nearly completely dismissed because of his more radical and comedic deliveries, but is essentially the distilled essence of resistance. he supports both baghera and bbh BECAUSE they refuse to comply with the greater systems, and wants to push them and the voters to think more radically. gegg is not a candidate in the traditional sense, but a pushing force to challenge as many candidates and voters intellectually as possible. the only flaw is how effectively he’s dismissed.

the presidency candidates will twist his words to support their agendas, the audience will scream ‘based’ and ‘spitting facts’ without truly incorporating his ideals into the worldviews. they understand ‘federation bad’ and gegg’s platform is the most clearly anti-federation, yet people dismiss his more radically inclined phrases as absurd and hyperbole. yet it’s his extreme stance that is necessary to invoke true change.

I was lurking on the comments of a pro-inasne duo post here on tumblr and something I noticed is this very pervasive misunderstanding of the anarchist ideologies that bbh baghera and charlie/gegg are platforming. And like, yeah, whatever, not everyone has even a passing understanding of anarchism, I am not expecting everyone to understand it, it's disruptive by nature, and all that starts bleeding into irl politics.

But more importantly than irl ideologies and stuff, the specific narrative conditions of the qsmp are so transparently conducive to anarchist theory??? It's like the team decided to write the federation the way anarchist theory describe governments yknow.

Like they’ver literally decided to throw a bone to the islanders (idk what to call everyone) this is the most obvious example of giving an oppressed people the illusion of political power to placate them and divert their attention and ire away from the government??? Except it's 1000x more obvious because we already know the federation is sus as fuck. Like no one fucking questions that their bad, but all of a sudden they do a textbook level move to uphold their power and divert attention and everyone's like. Oh, but like. Whatever. We can use their resources ^_^ cause there's no way that will be used against us ^_^ no strings attatched ^_^ submitting to their form of government and engaging with them in a non hostile way will never backfire.

Like the argument against centralized power on quesadilla Island isn't even "absolute power corrupts absolutely" but the even more digestible fact that relying in anyway shape or form on the federation gives them even more power. Even if you keep trying to change the system from within, or funnel their resources for yourself, you are conceding autonomy and power to the federation by participating in their games!!! Even if you don't get brainwashed or whatever, singular candidates or even parties can be blackmailed, or made to be reliant, or be used as double agents, be compromised, etc.

The situation with the federation deliberately projecting the illusion of conceding power is, in itself, a massive red flag for what's actually a consolidation of power!! This feels like the least controversial situation to turn to anarchist-collectivism ever presented by media ever!

I genuinely would like to see the canon mcc roster expanded significantly. I love the regulars, but I feel like the roster is starting to stagnate? I want more variety, i want more new players from all over the community and from all sorts of skill levels. I would love an alternating sweaty event/casual event/mixed event even it means my fav streamer doesn't get to play as frequently. I want events with upwards to 10 new players. I want life steal and hbg and qsmp and fable smp and kaboodle smp and hard-core players and creative builders and past non cannon players and people who scott smajor barely knows.

Because the mc community stretches father and wider than it did when mcc first started, and while we joke about Scott having connections in every other smp, I feel like that's much less applicable now? There are parts of the mcyt community where he doesn't even know the most popular members of those subcommunuties. And a single event every two years that invites a full roster of new players only to never see them again feels like a taste of fresh players and creators that we then never see again.

The only players from mccr1 that have joined cannon are jojo aimsey blushi michaela owen and bekyamon (6/40), which is great btw! They're all awesome additions to the cannon roster and they do some heavy lifting when it comes to diversifying the cannon roster. But most were only added once they're connections to the bigger mcyt cluster was clearer. Hell Owen was hired by noxcrew before he was added!!! And that's been over the last 1.5(?) Years since the event for only 6 players to be added to the roster.

Idk I just want more new players! And I know Scott has said that he doesn't like adding sweaty or super cracked players but I think having different soft categories of events could help with that! Or even just having more players start sitting out a little more frequently would free up top frag spots and I feel like there's not as much effort put into introducing new players to the cannon roster :(

I want to see more players who are absolutely in awe and in love with mcc and its games and that includes skilled players! I don't know where the idea that more skilled players will dilute the casual friendly nature of mcc but that's not how that works?

i need to diversify the languages on here, as it's pretty much exclusively russian and hungarian rn. if you've got any suggestions from those language, I'll still take em, but i'm mostly looking for other slavic languages + romanian. i will also take english songs from eastern european artists that fit the mood.

the edgier and more emo the song is the better. if it sounds like a teenager wrote the lyrics, even better! distorted vocals and mean sounding guitars are very appreciated, though i will also take melancholic acoustic songs

I think influencers are a fucking blight on society

I've been plein air painting in public a lot recently as a hobby and for class, and recently I went to a trendy little spot in LA for a class and the sheer amount of people who would TAKE PICTURES AND FILM ME AND MY CLASSMATES WAS DISGUSTING!!

I was talking with my roommate after the fact and it was just story after story of having some random stranger sneakily taking iPhone videos or just straight up walking up to you and taking a photos of us individually working?? Without a single word to us!!! No "hey is it alright if I take a photo of yall painting" NOTHING!! It was awful and the more I talked the more I realized I didn't notice like 75% of them doing it BECAUSE I WAS WORKING!!

none of us had the energy to like call people out on it because we were literally painting for a class. We shouldnt have to!! Some dude came up to my box while I was away, was there when I came back, and said 'nice painting' and took a photo of my work and left without a word and I'm like???? Not even asking if you could do that???

That's my fucking art, that's my face all those assholes earlier were filming and photographing. we were a gaggle of college student getting instruction and people were making a spectacle and recording it without anyone's consent!! It was so frustrating after the fact and I don't want to say it ruined my session but it's certainly left a bad taste in my mouth that I could probably go on the location tag for that place on ig or tiktok and find mine and my classmates' faces on there.
