This important study compared hamstrings muscle activation levels between knee flexion (Russian curl and seated leg curl) vs. hip extension with partial knee extension (stiff-leg deadlift, single-leg stiff-leg deadlift, and good morning), and hip extension with knee extension (parallel squat) exercises.
