golly i forgot how relaxing it is to baint battlemechs after several weeks of painting 40k stuff. no guilding, no leather straps, no faces, no skin tones. its a dream. hell, if really put my nose to the grinder i put i could paint a whole mech company in a day. i wont. but i could!

@agbpaints as promised yesterday, the frankenhammer, picked up from a junkyark on solaris vii for four and a half million c-bills, and since had its internals replaced with as much clan tech it’s latest pilot, one Olga von Bierhals, a woman intelligent and industious enough to peruse any path she chooses. She chooses to challange clanners to batchalls of possession in her ‘Warhammer’ only to rain on them more LRMs than they know how to counter.

i painted the archer too, since i already had the paints out for St Jeanne’s Fusilliers, and tried my hand at free handing a sakura tree decal, since the pilot is a former miko (in keeping with the group’s theme religious professions). And finally touched up the bases of my three kurita mercs and added some weathering on the feet. Ive decided that they’re called Hanako’s Hellions, formed by Sakamoto Hanako, the youngest of fourteen children to Baron Sakamoto. From a young age she concluded that she wasnt going to inherit the family title without an immense amount of fratacide, which she was against on teh grounds that she actually liked her brothers and sister, she instead decided to try and find her fame through martial prowess

i got two light mechs, Erika's Mercury and Mako's Wasp, to join the sisters Miho and Maho in their Locusts to complete my scout lance. ive got the command lance mostly painted up, just waiting on the last washes and base material to dry and i'll finish up their bases tomorrow. id've gotten them done today if the sun had actually shown her face to help my washes and basing paint dry, but what can u dop

Got one more lance for Hanako's Hellions finished this eve, bringing my kurita forces up to a full company in strength. Though on paper, this lance is listed as a mountaineering unit, unofficially they are known as the 'Jumpies', deployed to either maintain or even out any height advantage their adversaries may think they posses. Mio, the leader, has had every possible reinforcing technology added to her Exterminator's legs, as she keeps trying to use it to give her enemies a highlander burial, despite her mech weighing 15 tons less than a highlander. Sakamoto Hanako is the youngest of fourteen legitimate children born to Baron Sakamoto. Despite being born into nobility, Hanako had no desire to try to take the title for herself, mostly because she actually liked her brothers and sisters, and would rather avoid the immense amount of fratricide needed to gain her parents' title. Instead she decided to make a name for herself the tried and true way: through martial prowess. She became an apprentice mechwarrior, as so many had before her, at age ten, as part of her family's personal security force. Ironically, in her bid not to harm her family, she would far outshine them, and by the time she was thirty, Hanako will have founded her own mercenary group, offering preferential treatment in contracts with her family and House Kurita, but more than happy to take money from Davion, Steiner, or whoever else was willing to fund her quest for glory
