The deer shapeshifter felt her eyes narrow to a scowl only a farther could love, her ears dropping back to pin against her head. Her sharp eyes darted up and down her slender figure, noting her untamed red hair, mafia style white suit and the sky blue eyes that looked at her in both curiosity and caution. “..Yes.” Velvet was the first to break the silence “...You’re Cherry bomb, Uncle Angels other daughter”
“That I am.” The taller demon replied paired with a light shrug of her shoulders, keeping her voice low so as to not wake the sleeping kid that was currently snoozing on her bed. “So..” her look hardened and she took a few bold steps forward, but Velvet remained where she stood, meeting her suspicious gaze evenly “Who are you? I know the city like the back of my hat! And I’ve never seen some fancy city girly like you.”
Like Velvet had done to her, she gazed over her look: ruby red hair with darkened tips decorating her ears - a shapeshifter of some sorts. Pink and red striped blazer with pristinely made white trousers and a red and black bow tie to neatly complete the outfit. She hummed mentally, who was this demon?
Velvets absence hadn’t gone by unnoticed by the naga’s friendly little assistant Hornet, whom was close to Alastors family unlike his distant mistress. Slowly but surly ,he scaled up the mountain of stairs and tracked her scent towards the location in which the smiley mans younger spawn was resting. Gurgling softly he head butted the door open with a creak, stumbling clumsily into the room and into the sight of the two girls, causing their conversations to stop
“Hornet?” Velvet question with an unsure blink. Cherry bomb however, had a much different response “Ugh!” Her hands flew to grab her nose in her fruitless attempt to block off the putrid stench that lingered in the room “The fuck is that thing?! Your pet?!” Cherry bomb was never one to be startled easily, a rough start as a mortal left scars, and Hell and its destructive habits didn’t help. But she couldn’t hide her sudden jolt when the sickly green creature turned it’s head and snarled at her. It’s head wobbling unnaturally, it’s milky glassy eye ball rolling in its socket to look at her as best it could.
The creature slunk forward, growling at the unfamiliar figure - and Cherry realised it resembled, for lack of better words, some moldy meat sack in the shape of a rabbit. Cherry bomb instinctively shoved Velvet back and went to grab the lamp from the side table to whack it - until a sharp squeak noise caused her to jerk and pause. Hornets ragged, half rotting ears perked and he looked off to the red haired deer.
Velvet had conjured a squeaky toy, she kneeled down and gave it a squeak and Hornets bristled fur smoothened and he let out a gurgle.
“Easy Hornet. There’s a good boy, Cherry bomb isn’t here to cause trouble to Francis.” Velvet lightly juggled the toy between her hands, and Hornets one good eye followed its movements. Cherry bomb stood their staring in stunned shock, eyes wide as she looked back to the green creature, which must have gone by Hornet.
“You, know that thin- I mean...uhm, Hornet?” Cherry bomb asked, placing the thankfully undamaged lamp back in its rightful place. Velvet smiled at her and chuckled humorously, before tossing the chew toy to Hornet who eagerly grabbed it between his jaws “Of course I do, darling Hornet belongs to Nidra! A close friend despite whatever she may say.”
“Nidra?”
“Hmm..” Velvet crossed her arms “I suppose no ones filled you in with the current situation”
“Wha-Current situation?” Cherry bombs jaw worked, and her mouth opened and closes like a gold fish before she simply said: “...what?!”
Velvet clearly saw that she would have to explain things, but first she guided herself, Cherry bomb and Hornet outside of the room. Giving her a brief description Velvet filled her in on the situation as best she could. Although she was doubtful of Velvets tale all was confirmed true when she came and met with the temporarily new occupants for the hotel. She had off course gotten along the most with Iridescence, the smaller spider from another dimension was Angel’s daughter just like her - so the two clicked almost instantly. One dog by the name of Mako reminded her much of her Uncle Arackniss but she decided not to comment on it. Angle-Cake as well as the others had given her a small warning about his rather explosive temper.
So far everything had gone well for introductions, but Cherry Bomb’s mood had changed in a snap after she had been told of Tristan’s deal with Queeny. Admittedly, Cherry Bomb and Queeny weren’t exactly besties, they were just too different really to have any of the same interests. “Oh shit..” She mumbled “Shit.” She pulled a hand through her hair, looking at the ground to process this new information “...So, when does the loon get here?”
“Some time tomorrow” Tristan said without making eye contact with her. Everyone had been wondering how Tristan had remained so calm, more so Cheshire and Maizy then anyone else. When you had a sibling like Queeny, her antics didn’t come off as all that scary, but the fact that Tristan had remained so calm was...eerily weird. In actually fact, Tristan was worried. Very worried. He knew sealing deals in Hell was a dangerous topic to mess in, making a deal with the radio demon might as well have been a death sentence if you didn’t hold up your half of the bargain.
Tristan didn’t know what it was he had been thrown into, but he had long ago now come to accept that there was no getting out of it. And he knew that Queeny wanted him to meet whom ever this Hannibal was, so he knew that it was unlikely Queeny would hurt him. All she wanted was for him to talk to him. But talk about what he didn’t know, nor did he know how long he would have to talk to this individual. From what he had been told from Miss Charlie Hannibal was indeed related to Queeny, as well as Cheshire and Maizy, through all of them sharing the same farther. However he was also related to Angel-Cake, and Tristan figured out from there that Vaggie must have been his mother.
How someone like Alastor and Vaggie ended up having a child Tristan would never know, nor did he desire too. Miss Charlie had been vague on details due to the topic of discussion being an awkward one, but all Tristan knew about Hannibal’s origins was that he was...a surprise, to say the least.
“Tristan!”
The moth jolted slightly, his tea cup jumping on its saucer but thank Hell none of it spilt over his clothing or the couch. He quickly looked up to the owner of the familiar voice and came face to face with Brinda, who was looking at him with concern. “A-Are you Okay? You were...very quite and, staring off at nothing.” His ear’s lowered at hearing that, he didn’t want to make Brinda more worried then she already was. “I’m fine.” He lied, but he figured it would be nicer to tell her that then the truth.
“...What is it you need Brinda?” Through his time growing up in the chaotic household know as the famous hazbin demons in Hell, Tristan had become all too familiar with gazes that said ‘I need to ask a favour’, and he could read Brinda’s face like a book. The cat demon princess nervously looked off to the side, embarrassed she’d be caught so easily “W-Well..I was wondering if maybe you..” she finally looked to Tristan and made eye contact with him “...Could you check on Francis for me?”
That certainly was an odd request, but Tristan continued to let her speak.
“I know he’s not your brother, but, I’ve just gotten Velvet to calm down! She’s all on edge ever since Francis came through the portal. Nidra’s watching her now but..well..You know how Nidra is” she grasped at her tail and nervously pulled at it “I-I just want to make sure that Velvet stays calm, and I know you aren’t doing anything r-right now so, I, uhm, I figured maybe-“
“Brinda.” Tristan’s much more calmer voice cut Brinda off, silencing her as he placed his tea back on the table and stood “There is no need for you to act so nervous, you’re simply looking out for your friend. That’s very noble of you as a princess.” Tristan didn’t miss the red tone darkening in her cheeks but he didn’t comment upon it “I will check on Francis, you just make sure that Velvet stays calm”

It hadn’t taken long for him to navigate himself to Francis’s room, directing himself along the many narrow hallways of the hotel until he soon came across the very bedroom in which Francis was resting - or more accurately, where he HAD been resting. Once he reached the doorway he had walked in just as the young teenager began to wake from his slumber, confused at first Tristan soon sat down and laid out the situation simply for him until he understood. He wasn’t surprised when panic sunk in
“S-So..” Francis’s ears fell back, his eyes wide and sad “W-We’re stuck here?”
“For now, Yes.” Tristan had yet to explain the details of the..’deal’ he had made with the most unpredictable of the group. He had left that story till then end for a many number of reasons: he knew that Francis was skittish, and bringing up or mentioning his farther was walking on thin ice. He was sure that Francis wasn’t aware of who Kaycee (Queeny’s Mother) was, but he didn’t want to scare him anymore then he likely already was.
Just the, Tristan went to open his mouth to speak- “Francis?” Francis’s face was drained off all colour and was a ghostly white, mouth hung open in shock and his pupils had shrunk in complete frozen fear. He looked like a deer in headlights. He arched his brow, and then turned around to follow his gaze. “Queeny?” He quickly stood up, instinctively raising his wing to shield Francis from view. The she demon chuckled in humour as the portal behind her snapped shut. “Greetings and salutations little moth. Did you miss me?~” she sang out.
“I...What are you doing here? You said you would arrive tomorrow-“
“Dear little Hanny had the afternoon off from his studies with his careers. And I thought what better way to spend that time then bring him here to see you!” She leaned in closer to him, her demented grin widening by a whole inch “After all, the sooner it’s over the sooner you go home!~”
Tristan peered behind him at Francis as best he could, making sure his wing was raised enough that Francis was out of Queeny’s sight. Honestly, Queeny thought, sometimes people were so predictable. “I am well aware who you are hiding behind your wing.” She stated blankly, causing Tristan to snap his stern gaze to her. “Oh don’t give me that look!! I may be slightly unstable up here-“ she tapped the side of her head with a claw “But I’m no monster! I wouldn’t harm a child!...At least-“ she peered down to end of the bed frame “Not in front of deer little Hanny.”
At the mention of his name, the demon that huddled at the end of the bed shyly peeked our, there feather like ears twitching to the sounds in the room. Once he made eye contact with Tristan the older moth demon noticed his eyes widening by a fraction. The two moths held silent eye contact, their ears twitching a tad, like they were having a mental conversation. Francis, though still shaken and refusing to budge from behind Tristan and having NO intent of ever moving from behind him, nervously peeked a glance out from behind his wing. Not even a second later the smaller moth demon snapped his gaze to him, like he had sensed another presence within the room other then Queeny.
Francis gulped “...H-H-Hello...” He squeaked out, before quickly shuffling back being the safety of Tristan’s wing when he accidentally glanced up at Queeny. Tristan casted a sad gaze down to Francis, he knew that Queeny probably wouldn’t let him leave now. If this younger demons as indeed Hannibal then it was likely that Queeny’s would want him to talk to him then and there. Which meant Francis was likely stuck with him. Tristan honestly has expected something or someone a bit more, intimidating. Alastors magic was in the history books at this stage and his mothers wrath was one to feared.
But this Hannibal seemed, shy, nervous almost.
‘Maybe this won’t be so bad..I hope’ Tristan thought
