欲しいのは見せかけの姿じゃなくて
ありのまま生きていく強さ
移りゆく時の流れに心を
見失ってしまわないよう
僕らは今ここにいる
I don’t want to pretend to be something I’m not
I want strength to live
without losing my heart in the way
I’ll make sure to take care of it
I’m here, right now

Hey hey hey, lemme ask ya... i haven't wached the spin off yet because I'm binge watching InuYasha and I just reached mid-season 3. So, is there any confirmation that the twins are full demon blood OR is there a possibility that they're half-demon? Asking cause I was wondering how much possibility there is that the writers f-ed it up and actually made Rin the twins' mother
First off all: hi! I’m so glad you’re binge watching Inuyasha! Whether is your first time or a rewatch, it is always a magical experience. At least it was for me.
So... About the sequel... Four episodes were all I could take. Other than that, and private conversations with friends, my knowledge on the matter is only updated by the gifsets, shitposts, memes and theories that fill my dash every saturday. With that in mind, please take into consideration this answear might not be as accurate as you deserve. In fact, I encourage anyone to correct me if I’m wrong.
Anyway, it seems to me that the whole premise of the show is that the three girls have both demon and human blood. That’s what they’ve advertising them as from the very beginning. Its own title tells us that: Hanyō no Yashahime or Yashahime: Princess Half-Demon.
If the Inuyasha Wiki is reliable enough for you, then “hanyō” equals supernatural beings that are a hybrid between human and demon. That’s why I seriously doubt that the twins are full demon blood. Actually, that’s the very first time I ever saw anyone bring up this possibility.
In fact, I’d argue Sunrise wanted Towa and Setsuna to have human blood as well, given who their father is. Sesshomaru having daughters? Shocking. Sesshomaru having hanyō daughters? Drama, drama, drama! And an excellent opportunity to baite certain shippers while they’re at it. Sunrise killed two birds, maybe Sesshomaru’s character development and definitely my patience.
So yeah, is not a matter of “are they hanyo?” because is no secret that they are. The good news? Just because their mom is human, it doesn’t necessarily mean it’s Rin, despite of what other people are trying to shove down our throats. Don’t quote me on this, but... I heard there was more than one human woman in the Inuverse.
That being said: I don’t trust the writers. Like, at all. One of the reasons that made me drop the show was precisely the feeling that they were going to make Rin the mother. And I wasn’t the only one to think so. But I’m not so sure anymore. Maybe that’s only because I put a lot of distance between myself and the sequel. Maybe it’s because the Kagura theories have been getting stronger. Maybe it’s because I’m living in my own little bubble. I don’t know.
The only thing I’m absolutely certain is that we are not going to find out who the mother is until the very ending. Until then, Sunrise will try to keep alive the hopes of both antis and shippers, so they can profit from everybody.
Then, I don’t know. Maybe they toss a coin or something. They said nothing is a coincidence, that there are clues about the mother everywhere. And antis seem to have picked up on a lot of signals pointing to a ressurected as a human woman Kagura, but I honestly wouldn’t put it past Sunrise to look us in the eye and then say “yeah... these clues were just coincidence. Bazinga!” It’s hard to use logic to try and understand where the story is going when the writers don’t know what they are doing themselves.
You know what’s sad? I remember when the sequel was announced. The fandom was so excited, for its most part. Myself included. Now we’re just tired and fighting each other, when it would have been so fucking easy to make the show decent.
So, to summarize:
PS.: I’m not going to reply to your other ask for obvious reasons but I want you to know I’ve read it and it made me laugh out loud.
