a letter to our hope

dear hobi, 

happy birthday!! i don’t think u know how much i love u, sunshine boy. 

you have brightened up countless days of mine, and i hope (haha) you know that. you never fail to make me smile. 

i can still remember the day that you became my bias!! for a while i had no idea who to bias so i just randomly chose one of the members in case someone asked. to my surprise though, as i watched my first vlive, this little hope, this little red haired ball of pure joy just jumped out at me. that was the day you caught my eye. 

i automatically looked more into the group, more into you, and i can accurately say that i don’t regret it. not one bit. you were so energetic, and kind, and sweet, and thoughtful, and the music you made and make is literally amazing. you’re so talented!! 

nothing proved this more than when you came out with hope world. hope world came out during a time where i was at my lowest. a time where i could barely get up out of bed much less breathe. now, i’m not saying that hope world “cured my depression”, but i am saying that it definitely helped make the days a little more bearable. your group as a whole really did. 

february, a month once seen as the worst to me, became so much brighter when i thought about the fact that it’s when you, jung hoseok, came into the world. how could this month in which everything went downhill be sad when it brought me some of the very amazing things that still bring me joy today? 

so again, happy birthday, and thank you for making our world one full of hope, light, and sun that will forever keep us warm even in the coldest and darkest of days.
