An artifact of my life.

This skateboard was the last of a handful I rode in the late 70s.

At 5' 8" tall, I had a low center of gravity. I was pretty good at tricks and took many a fall perfecting them. There was only one nearby skatepark and it wasn't all that special.

Drainage ditches, steep and not-so-sloped streets were favorites. Sabercat Road and Bruce Street come to mind.

I was in the best shape of my young life. Mid-20s. My whole life out ahead of me.

Now, at 70, my balance is just a little shaky. I wouldn't even consider getting on this thing. But I can't get rid of it. Too many awesome memories.

It's funny the things we hold onto.
