Tragedy strikes the hills when Cavernclan's camp suffers a cave-in, cutting off communication from any other cats, trapped within their tunnels. the leaders of Ridgeclan, Mudclan, and Meadowclan all believe Cavernclan to be dead, but when a ragged Cavernclan warrior stumbles into Meadowclan's camp begging for help, the clans must band together to save these underground cats.

With Ridgeclan's leader Hawkstar using this disaster to steal territory and prey, Meadowclan must convince Mudclan to help in the effort of saving Cavernclan. Will Barleystar convince Raccoonstar that Cavernclan has a chance? or will Mudclan turn their backs on the other clans, secluded deep within their pine grove?
