Redstone Snap thoughts
I love Redstone Snap so much I had some thoughts. Here's one !
(It takes place in an alternative ending of the HCC @soemthingsparkly fic where Mumbo and Scott end up together)
Mumbo and Scott going to see Be More Chill. Scott knowing all the songs but it's a discovery for Mumbo. When Michael In The Bathroom comes in Scott is just enjoying the song thiking nothing of it. But he feels Mumbo's hand on his being tense and looks at his boyfriend to find him crying. He says nothing, waiting for the end of the show but keep a concerned eye on his lover.
When they get home, Scott prépare some tea for the both of them. Mumbo is a bit out of it. He's been ever since Michael in the bathroom. He gives Mumbo his tea and goes to sit Next to him on the couch. It's silent for a while, Mumbo isn't touching his tea so Scott put his on the small table and breaks the silence.
"Darling you alright ?"
This seems to get Mumbo out of his head for a little bit and nods.
"You wanna talk about it ?" Scott says as he puts his right hand on Mumbo's thigh.
"I don' t really know. It's just- this song. The one where the guy is in the bathroom. It reminded me of something"
"About Grian or Scar ?"
Mumbo nods. And take a sip of his tea before putting it on the table.
"I don't know Scott it's weird. Like. We're all fine and friends, everything is good. I don't understand why i relate to this song do much. It reminded me of when Grian and Scar started dating yes. But what happened in the show never happened to me. They never put me aside or forgot me. I don't understand why it got to me that much"
"Oh love…" Scott pass his other hand through Mumbo's hair with a small kinda sad smile. "You were in love with Grian at that time. So maybe you felt like being put aside when he started dating someone else, your best friend none the less. And it's okay. Your feelings then were valid and they still are. The song reminded you of the past and you reacted to it with a new eye. I'm do sorry you felt like that back then Darling"
Mumbo slowly started to cry once again. Gods Scott is amazing. How did he managed to find and date someone so perfect.
"But Scott I love you so much. And this was so long ago. And everything is fine. So why do I feel like that. I don't want to think of the past. I'm happy with you, with the life I have. So why ?"
Scott took Mumbo in his arms trying to calm his lover down and saying some reassurance like "it's okay love" "it's all fine" "I love you baby" "I love you so much it's gonna be alright" and sometimes Mumbo could hear some "I'm not upset, it's okay, I love you so much" "Your feelings are you and I love them as much as I love you"

Its Futureshock: Turn It Up live at Stockport Masonic Guildhall in Stockport. I got myself a beer. 1st match is Ethan Kelly vs Scott Oberman. Scott in control to begin,Slamming and chopping Ethan trying to put him away early but Ethan came back into it and turned it to his advantage. Ethan pulled out some good and impressive moves, coming close to a win but Scott got angry and back into it again he got because Ethan just couldn't do it even after hitting a Claymore to no avail. Scott beat down Ethan forcing a DQ. Scott asked Ethan to join him and that he did.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next up is Lizzy Evo and HCC vs Lana Austin and Harley Hudson. HCC starts the action but Harley and Lana soon take over, they just won't let in Lizzy but HCC continues to fight. HCC finally managed to tag in Lizzy who went right to the top rope hitting a drop kick to no avail. Harley back in it for a short little time but HCC breaks up the count. A spear to Lana from Lizzy sends her out the ring,Lizzy and Harley go at it as Lizzy scores the pinfall on Harley giving her and HCC the win.

Onto the next Joe Blazr vs DDL for the futureshock title. Joe is the former Big Guns Joe,hes now got a comedy gimmick. Joe came very close multiple times to ending the 701 day title reign of Damon Leigh. Good match here from both men,Joe continued to stay in it despite the onslaught from the champion. Damon just couldn't put Joe away no matter what he did, even hitting a piledriver which Joe kicked out of. The champion hooks on a sleeper hold but How fought out and with the crowd behind him pulled out some very impressive moves. What a match this was that definitely went the distance. A bump from the ref,Damon cracked Joe over the head with the title but this didn't do anything because Joe kicked out and the match continued. DDL hits his finisher but Joe kicks out which totally surprised not only the champion but the crowd to. Joe continues to fight and battle,he actually goes on to end the 701 day streak and become champion.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Another match is Oscar Byron and Steven Cross vs Dynamite Lee Dawson and Senner. Lee in control of Steven until Oscar tags in,the crowd is certainly hot now. Steven back in and it looked like he was going to walk out but he got in the ring before the 10 count and was right on Lee. Senner tagged in for a tiny amount of time as Oscar is in and then Steven. Steven throws Senner out the ring and dispatches him as Oscar clotheslines Lee for the dub. After the match Senner slapped Lee so Lee said he would defend his title against him later on.

Iowa Western: 2022 NJCAA Football National Champions
Tumblr media
Defense wins championships. On Wednesday night in Arkansas, oh boy, did it ever!
Iowa Western (10-2) rode the backs of the Nation's best defensive unit to the program's second national title in a dominating performance over Hutchinson (11-1) at War Memorial Stadium.
The IWCC offense did their part early, scoring 17 first-quarter points and the 'Darkside' defense never allowed the #1 Blue Dragons any offensive momentum as Head Coach Scott Strohmeier's squad cruised to a 31-0 rout of their Jayhawk Conference rival.
"I'm just so happy for the guys that bought in, that took last year's defeat (to NMMI in 2021's NJCAA National Title game) and worked to make sure that they learned from that lesson and to make sure it didn't happen again," said the 14th year head coach after the game. "So many of these guys were here for that one and even when the regular season didn't end the way we'd hoped, they kept working hard, pushing toward the goal they had set for themselves."
Two games prior it was a game of explosive plays for the Reivers against the previously undefeated Blue Dragons, with HCC scoring a late touchdown to propel themselves to a one-point win in Council Bluffs. Those explosive plays never materialized for the Blue Dragons in the rematch, but they certainly did for Iowa Western.
Just five plays into their opening drive, Quarterback James Graham and the Reivers struck. The sophomore from Georgia found LJ Fitzpatrick on a short pass and Fitzpatrick, much like he's done on several occasions this season, raced down the sideline for a 68-yard score and an early 7-0 Reiver lead. The TD was the 800th touchdown in 14 seasons of football in Council Bluffs and Fitzpatrick's third of the season that covered 60 or more yards for a score.
The 'Darkside' allowed Hutchinson a first down on their first drive, but a high snap and continued pressure from Iowa Western forced the Blue Dragons to punt and gave the ball back to IWCC.
In his third start of the season, Graham led the Reivers on a nine-play, 69-yard scoring drive on the next possession, capped by Jaden Koger's 4th career rushing score. Wilber's 34th PAT of the season pushed the 1st quarter lead to 14-0 Reivers.
The Iowa Western pressure continued defensively, keeping Hutchinson QB Dylan Laible from getting comfortable, although the Sophomore didn't get any help from his receivers when he did have time to throw. Trailing 17-0 early in the second quarter, Laible's pass to Malik Benson was dropped by the prize recruit, on what may have been the best chance of the day for the Blue Dragons. It was the most glaring drop of the day for Hutch's high-powered offense, but certainly not the only one.
The Reivers kept the 'Big 3' of Benson, Laible, and running back Dylan Kedzior in check in the game. After scoring against the Reivers in the first match-up, Benson, the Alabama commit, didn't fair well against the Reivers secondary, dropping several passes on the day and losing a fumble on a jet sweep when the 'Darkside' sniffed out the potential wide receiver pass.
The Reivers limited Laible, allowing just 137 yards passing and holding the Walter Jones Trophy nominee below 50% on 37 attempts.
And as good as the pass defense was, The Darkside was even better at locking down the Blue Dragons' running game. Kedzior, the KJCCC Offensive Player of the Year, was limited to just 13 yards rushing after he had scored a pair of touchdowns against both the Reivers in November and three against Coffeyville in the semi-final round of the NJCAA playoffs. Those two performances pushed the Oklahoma native past 1,000 yards on the season into the title game. Kedzior's struggles in Little Rock were amplified when Quientrail Jamison-Travis stripped the running back for his first fumble lost of the season.
Travis, out of Minneapolis North high school, recovered two of three fumbles lost on the day by the Hutchinson offense and was awarded postgame Player of the Game honors during the Reivers' celebration. In addition to the pair of fumbles he recovered, the sophomore defensive tackle also turned in four tackles and two and a half of the Reivers' six sacks on the night. Those six sacks helped IWCC set their single-season record at 56, surpassing the 2015 total of 50.5 quarterback sacks.
Iowa Western's second-half offense was deliberate and paralyzing for Hutchinson's comeback chances. Bryant Williams capped a pair of drives with short touchdown runs, while the offense ground the clock down, splitting the time of possession with the Blue Dragons and forcing a pair of turnovers and a pair of turnovers on down as the clock wound to zero.
The Reivers posted their 4th shutout of the year as Rashion Hodge led the team in tackles to finish the season with a team-high 77 on the year. Elijah Elmore joined Travis as the only players with multiple QB sacks in the game as IWCC piled up 11 tackles for loss in the game. Will Lee, Jamorri Colson, and Dylan Reyes were credited with multiple pass breakups as the 'Darkside' turned in their best performance of the season. Hutchinson, averaging over 431 yards into the title game, was limited to just one-third of that yardage in the loss and was shutout in a game for the first time since 2010. In fact, it was the first time a shutout had been posted in an NJCAA National Title game since 1992.
"The coaches I'm able to work with make it easy," said Strohmeier, "If Black's (Mike Blackbourn) not here since day one, AT (Aaron Terry), Finney (Eric Finney), Monthei (Jeff Monthei) and the other guys that come in and know what to do, I don't have to worry about them, I don't have to micromanage and that's huge, especially at this level. We come in as a staff and we go to work, there's no hand-holding. We as an offense can do our job and the defense does theirs, it's a huge advantage for us to be able to have that culture instilled without having to revisit it every recruiting season, every fall camp."
James Graham completed only four passes in the game but piled up 116 yards passing and a touchdown as the Reivers ground out 288 more yards on the ground with Graham leading the way. His 102 rushing yards were the most by a quarterback since Kai Locksley cleared the mark against DuPage to close the 2017 regular season.
"So proud of James, he comes in in the fall and was open to a position change (wide receiver), but took reps at QB and we end up needing him," added Strohmeier, "his confidence level the last two games left me with no doubts about what he was capable of and he backed that up. What a story, barely on the depth chart at the beginning of the season and now a National Champion Quarterback, that's hugely rewarding."
The victory pushed the Reivers to 10 or more wins for the 8th time in 14 seasons of football in Council Bluffs. In two of those seasons, the Reivers played in less than 10 games.
For Strohmeier, it's the second time he's led the Reivers to the title, earning the program's first national championship trophy in 2012. The Reivers have finished runner-up twice since, but each time they've made the game, it's something that the Watkins, Minnesota native won't take for granted. "You know every time you make the game that there may not be another, so for the team to continue to persevere and win this one makes it so rewarding. We all have a family at home, and we all have people that sacrifice in order to make our jobs possible. For them to see these young men, get rewarded for their hard work is a testament to what their sacrifices at home allow us to do." Strohmeier added, "It's just about so much more than getting to wear a ring for winning a game, this game is about opportunities and we made the most out of it this season. I'm really proud of this team and who they are and will be as people."
The Reivers' last national title came just over 10 years ago when they won 27-7 over #2 Butler in the 2012 Graphic Edge Bowl in Cedar Falls, Iowa. The Reivers lost to East Mississippi in 2014 and New Mexico Military in last year's title game, in both of those seasons, the Reivers finished the regular season undefeated.
IWCC ended Hutchinson's 17-game winning streak with the victory and improves to 5-3 all-time versus the Blue Dragons. The two teams are scheduled to finish the 2023 regular season in Kansas at Gowans Stadium next season, a game that both squads hope is a precursor to another playoff run for each.
Iowa Western coaches will head out on the road immediately to finalize their recruiting season, while many players from this year's squad will make known where their next destination will be in the coming weeks. Former Reiver Namdi Obiazor is the only former Reiver playing in the NCAA Playoffs and can be seen wearing #4 for TCU when the Horned Frogs take on Michigan in the semi-finals on New Year's Eve at 3:00 pm CST. That team is led by Quarterback and Council Bluffs native Max Duggan. Duggan played for Lewis Central High School, the team that the Reivers share their field with for home games.
The 2023 season is slated to kick off on the road on August 26th against the Conquistadors of DCCC from Memorial Stadium in Dodge City, KS. The annual Blue-White Spring Game will take place on Friday, May 5th at Lewis Central High School at a time to be determined.

Saw your Helsian designs and love them all. Please, tell me more about Helsmajor :D Is there like, an MCC equivalent in Hels that he organizes or anything? How is he different from Scott? (and maybe how would their interaction go if they met?) Sorry for so many questions but Scott is so kind and all that a Hels counterpart for him has me very curious ^^;
Everybody has been askin me about Helsmajor(who I saw someone suggest should be named Sminor, don't know if I'll use that but I do like the name) even though the most I have for him is his design n the fact that I have basically took Scott's dry humor n cranked it up tenfold. I'm still new-ish to Scott's content, having only started watching him during 3rd Life and not really keeping up with his Empires, so if anybody has any suggestions for Helsmajor I would gladly take it.
And yes there is a Hels MCC. Because I headcanon every SMP has a Helscraft variant, that implies there would be a Helscraft MCC with Hels versions of Noxcrew n everything. Hels MCC is probably super cruel and super not balanced but what else would they do.
Like, a few of the Helsmits are in Hels MCC(Ig it would be HCC, Helscraft Championship anybody) and Koray specifically would be an interesting and kind of overpowered player just because he doesn't...walk. He flies everywhere. Literally he is always flying, even if it's a few feet above the floor. He hates walking because of a certain Helsmit screwing up one of his legs :>
(also i Do not know how helsmajor n scott would react if they met each other fhudsifhdsfhudsif i can only imagine it wouldnt end well)

i would absolutely love to share a rant!
all the characters are so psychologically fucked up in such a realistic way that i didn't see represented much. grian venting to tango about feeling left out. the fact that he felt left out at all over something so small. they're so codependent and i love it.
and then there's scott and jimmy's dynamic. scott kissing jimmy and then jimmy venting to grian and then grian just responding with "HE DID WHAT??????" and then at the cafe. the idea of someone doing something they shouldn't have and then having a panic attack over a third party's opinion on it is so... idk how to say it. like i said, a type of fucked up that you don't see talked about much and i relate so hard to it. it's clear scott's probably trying his best out at least trying a lot to not hurt jimmy but he's failing miserably and i don't think he even realizes it. and like. yeah. ive been there. i don't actually know why scott broke up with him but i get the vibe it was supposed to be like. to help jimmy in some way. like "oh wait ive been toxic maybe i should end this for his sake". but doing that obviously hurt jimmy, especially since he didn't say *why* he did it. and scott obviously did something really drastic and sudden so he's not doing well either and he really wants to go back to jimmy. he knows he's being manipulative and it's not on purpose but in trying to stop and be better he keeps making things worse. and like. this is all a side thing. this fic is mostly about mumscarian and you threw in this flower husbands sideplot but it's still so fleshed out and so *real*.
and speaking of the mumscarian thing the way you write their friendships, especially grian and mumbo's is amazing. it's not like. a stepping stone to a romantic relationship even though they are going to end up in one. very "not more than friends, different from friends" vibes /vpos. it doesn't feel like they're ending up in a romantic relationship. it feels like they're making their relationship romantic and i love that so much.
grian just texting mumbo that he's bored gives such hcs7 vibes and like he yeah they're so codependent and it's so obvious from grian's side my god
and the way you write pearl is amazing, she's got this sibling energy and it's great.
the way you write all of them is amazing actually. i can hear everything they say in their voices. the clockers are on point, especially scar and bdubs.
i could keep going im sure lmao but anyway great fic i love it if you read this ill cry /pos
This has been sitting in my ask box for a while because I just love it so much anon and I was like~~~ how do I respond to such a long ask with the same level of enthusiam?
I wanna break this ask into chunks and there's bits of your ask I wanna respond to directly, so...
all the characters are so psychologically fucked up in such a realistic way that i didn't see represented much.
I'm glad you think so! I definitely feel like I'm being a little bit risky with how I'm presenting some of the, I suppose, human consequences of being human?
I think a lot of what fandom (in general) consumes gets a little over-sanitised these days. Our favourite characters aren't allowed to be flawed like real people, they must be flawed in a way that is either endearing, entertaining (sarcastic or snarky), or easily forgivable.
But that's not always that interesting when it comes to wanting characters we can truly relate to?
Grian gets upset he's left out not just because he has Trauma™, but because he does have a co-dependancy on Mumbo that borders on unhealthy. Tango tells Grian to, in not so many words, get over himself and try and have fun - not because he knew Grian would respond well to it, but because he's blunt and doesn't know how to comfort people gently. Bdubs makes fun of Scar for being disabled, because he knows that everybody in that group chat understands he's joking and that his comments will never leave that group chat (in-world that is, of course, everybody who reads the fic will read them).
And Scott for example, is not a very well-liked character amongst readers at the moment, but he's absolutely one of my favourite to write. You put it pretty well here:
he knows he's being manipulative and it's not on purpose but in trying to stop and be better he keeps making things worse.
Like yes, exactly. He's trying to do better, but the actions he takes that he thinks (or is being co-erced into believing via mental illness) will make things better, keep making things worse and he doesn't really understand how to do it right. And haven't we all been in that position before?
And yet up until chapter 17, we've only ever seen into their dynamic from the outside. We've only ever seen Scott's actions from Jimmy's POV or from the POV of someone who cares about Jimmy.
And somehow it's Jimmy, of all people, defending Scott.
It's absolutely fascinating to see readers reactions and I'd be so happy to talk about this forever and ever and ever, hehehe.
And what you said about Mumbo and Grian's relationship, here:
very "not more than friends, different from friends" vibes /vpos. it doesn't feel like they're ending up in a romantic relationship. it feels like they're making their relationship romantic and i love that so much.
I'm actually SO glad you feel that way about them, because that's exactly the way I feel about them, too. They're not just friends, so much as they're Grian and Mumbo. The idea of them being friends almost suggests an alternative of them being not friends and I just don't there's a way in this world that they can exist and be without one another. So yes, I love this a lot and I love that you feel that way about them.
Thank you so much for this absolutely beautiful message - I am such a fan of analysing characters and their interactions and all that. Frankly, thank you for giving me a space to talk at length about the way these characters are in this fic!!
Here is a tissue for the tears, I hope you don't cry too hard. Remember to stay hydrated <333

Scott: Jimmy.
Jimmy: I just...
Scott: You don't have to jump to my defence like that. I'm a big boy. I can handle it. I'm okay.
Jimmy: But–
Scott: Jim. You're not my boyfriend anymore, remember?
Jimmy: ... Yeah. Sorry.
Scott: It's okay. We're okay, yeah?
Jimmy: Yeah. We're okay.

2020 Best Nursing Homes - Illinois
Tumblr media
ElderPerfect a leading publisher on senior healthcare across the United States, today announced the recipients of the Best Nursing Homes in Illinois for 2020. These awards are designed to recognize providers based on their ability to consistently deliver excellence in the areas of Health Inspections, Quality of Residence Care, Penalties and Staffing. We’ve evaluated over 725 facilities, of which 147 (20%) met our top rating. This report marks the Gold Standard in terms of care for seniors. 0 Ranked Best Facilities  5/5
US Standard vs. Best Facilities
Average Number of Beds: 106 vs 95 Average Occupancy: 81% vs 83% Average Health Inspection Rating: 2.82 / 5.00 vs. 3.90 / 5.00 Average Government Rating: 3.01 / 5.00 vs. 4.49 / 5.00
Rating Methodology
Health Inspections Every year, the government assigns inspectors to conduct a formal review of nursing homes for regulatory purposes to meet the mandates outlined for Medicare and Medicaid, this aims to measure and improve the safety of residents across providers. Facilities may also be inspected when complaints are submitted or based on a reported incident. When noncompliance is identified, the facility is served a citation that indicates which regulation that was identified, along with the severity of the incident. Nursing homes are subsequently required to execute a program of resolution in order to meet compliance. Some scenarios require enforcement actions to be applied, such as a civil monetary penalty or withholding of payment(s), to incentivize resolution in a timely manner. Penalties Facilities are applied 2 types of penalties due to non-compliance / accumulation of incidents. Civil penalties are monetary fines that may be applied to a facility based on citations / infractions identified during a review. The severity of a penalty is defined primarily by the size and frequency of the infraction. Quality of Residence Care There are 3 types of resident care ratings, but for this exercise, we primarily focused on the overall quality measure rating. The quality measures (QMs) include 17 data points that are derived from clinical information reported by the respective nursing home and also from Medicare claims data submitted for payment. Ratings are calculated for the QM domain using the 4 most recent quarters for which data are available. A nursing home receives points contingent on performance on each measure (weighting distribution is not equal). Staffing Staffing research is submitted regularly by the facility and is adjusted for the requirement of the facilities residents. For each of registered nurse staff and total staffing, a 1 - 5 rating is applied according to definitions established for each category. These ratings are subsequently combined to assign an overall staffing rating. As an example, to get an overall staffing rating of 5 stars, nursing homes must earn a rating of 5 stars for both registered nurses and total staffing. Nursing homes could also be assigned a 1 star rating should they not have a registered nurse on-site daily, and do not submit staffing data, or which the data cannot be verified.

Widespread Chromosomal Losses and Mitochondrial DNA Alterations as Genetic Drivers in Hürthle Cell Carcinoma
Publication date: 13 August 2018
Source: Cancer Cell, Volume 34, Issue 2
Author(s): Raj K. Gopal, Kirsten Kübler, Sarah E. Calvo, Paz Polak, Dimitri Livitz, Daniel Rosebrock, Peter M. Sadow, Braidie Campbell, Samuel E. Donovan, Salma Amin, Benjamin J. Gigliotti, Zenon Grabarek, Julian M. Hess, Chip Stewart, Lior Z. Braunstein, Peter F. Arndt, Scott Mordecai, Angela R. Shih, Frances Chaves, Tiannan Zhan
Summary
Hürthle cell carcinoma of the thyroid (HCC) is a form of thyroid cancer recalcitrant to radioiodine therapy that exhibits an accumulation of mitochondria. We performed whole-exome sequencing on a cohort of primary, recurrent, and metastatic tumors, and identified recurrent mutations in DAXX, TP53, NRAS, NF1, CDKN1A, ARHGAP35, and the TERT promoter. Parallel analysis of mtDNA revealed recurrent homoplasmic mutations in subunits of complex I of the electron transport chain. Analysis of DNA copy-number alterations uncovered widespread loss of chromosomes culminating in near-haploid chromosomal content in a large fraction of HCC, which was maintained during metastatic spread. This work uncovers a distinct molecular origin of HCC compared with other thyroid malignancies.
