((I’m guessing you follow my art blog or my personal, yeah? in that case you’d probably know why I like this ship so much! It likely will never happen but hooo,,,,, tension sexy! ‘scuse me while i ramble about this one))

((I always liked the idea of these two elder machines, both the “heads” of their respective families as the oldest Light- and Wilybots, butting heads due to their substantial power. I see them inherently at odds, to the point of obsession, even, especially from Metal’s point of view. After all, killing one severely weakens the family, which gives the other side a powerful advantage in the war they have.))

((The way I imagine it (which, disclaimer, is not necessarily with respect to Lin’s Metal, this is entirely a me thing asdlkfjhasfd) is that Metal abhors Blues’ indifferent and cold, aloof attitude. He hates it, and he hates how Blues can get under his skin with that stupid fucking smirk on his face. He wants nothing more than to get inside Blues’ head, take him apart, and figure out what makes him tick, and the fact that he wants this so badly drives him insane. He hates how much taking Blues down matters to him, but really, it makes sense. Next to Rock, Blues is THE biggest threat to Metal, and his position as the First brings a lot of strength and influence. Killing him means stripping Blues of that title, and as the victor...

Well, Metal would be on top of the hierarchy, wouldn’t he?

Maybe he gets a little too obsessed with that desire. He doesn’t understand it. He doesn’t understand why Blues is constantly at the forefront of his mind, and it drives him insane.

Meanwhile, Blues looks at Metal and sees a monster that can and will kill him the moment he has an opening, which is true! He can! I know there’s a lot of jokes in the fandom about Metal being weak to his own fucking weapon, but to put that on its head with how many of his brothers get shredded by the Metal Blade, I see it as Metal being one of the strongest Wilybots and Robot Masters all around. He could easily kill Blues if he got the chance. And Metal, too, has significant power and status, due to being the first Wilybot. I think that Metal is one of the few who can actually rival Blues’ strength and influence and Blues?

Blues does not like that.

So what does he do? He keeps tabs on Metal, constantly, because he knows he’s being hunted at the same time as he is tracking Metal himself, and he taunts Metal every time he’s unsuccessful, because anger might be one of Metal’s most powerful weapons but it also makes him clumsy, twists him up and blinds him in his rage, and it serves as an effective distraction and a way for Blues to whittle away at his resolve. Is this reasoning entirely true? Who knows?

All I can say for sure is that there’s no love in this pairing, just obsession, hatred, and a whole lot of homoerotic tension, and I’m all here for it.))
