Rhys in Acosf was dealing with:

The war Beron was trying to start.

The Made queen who can literally control the troves.

Koschei.

His Pregnant wife.

The possibility of said wife and child dying.

Nesta and the uncontrollable powers she refuses to learn about.

And who the hell was going to rule the NC if they did die.

But y’all are shocked that he wasn’t the nicest when banning Azriel from Elain? Y’all are upset that he wasn’t the nicest when dealing with someone’s reckless actions that could have literally led to even bigger problems on top of the ones he was already dealing with?

He was stressed as shit worrying about the NC and his wife and if you were in his position and you saw someone actively creating more problems for you to deal with (because you know damn well Rhys was going to be the one cleaning up the mess Azriel and Elain were about to start) you would be pissed too.

Azriel is 500 years old and an important member of the NC. He’s not someone who can act without caring about the consequences. His actions do effect the NC and truthfully he should have been smarter.
