I have said this many times but I can just imagine him so perfectly getting chubby, like all those pictures we have of him drinking beer 😩😩 and the calories in alcohol can so easily add up (mild intox warning for under the cut)

maybe he takes a break from acting, maybe to direct some of his own stuff, whatever the reason, he suddenly has more free time where he doesn't have to worry about his diet for his upcoming role

I think his natural body type is a bit leaner than what he trains for, so imagine in his mind he's like "it takes a lot of work to gain muscle, that means I have a fast metabolism, so I won't gain fat very quickly either" an easy justification for droping pretty much his entire diet and training regime

maybe he still enjoys lifting, but some extra calories might even help with that, so what if he doesn't even really notice the gain at first

he's taking a break, so he's wearing mostly loose comfortable clothes, his days are spent catching up on movies and shows he hasn't had the time to watch, slow walks with Dodger and the evenings are spent in various bars hanging out with friends he's spent way too little time with while he was working

so yeah he's getting comfortable, settling into a slower life and hey he's in his fourties, it'd be totally normal for the middle-aged spread to set in, nothing to worry about

ok his jeans pinch a bit when he puts them on, his belt buckle digs into his stomach when he's sitting down, it's not like he has a real belly, it's just a bit more of a curve instead of the toned abs he maintained for most of his roles

and it's not all bad, he's gotten compliments on how he's bulking up, his arms get thicker, his chest looks bigger (his waist does too but that pretty much evens out, right? :D)

appearance is like 80% of an actor's job, since Chris is anxiety-prone anyway maybe he worries about it, putting together diet plans when he wakes up after another evening spent in some bar(s), but this is also nice, a vacation, so he waits with bated breath for the other shoe to drop

it never does

5lbs, turn into 10, maybe 15lbs, his shirts start clinging to the growing curve in his middle, he can still suck it in and flex and he looks like he used to, it's not that much weight, but Chris finds his hands drifting there nonetheless

there's something about it.. especially when he comes home late at night with his belly full of beer and bar food, when he's tipsy and relaxed, his posture is loose, maybe there's even still a smile playing around his lips as he undresses to fall into bed

his knuckles brush his bloated belly as he tries to undo the button on his jeans, that's been getting harder lately, but when he finally manages it the zipper slides down on its own when the beer bloat settles lower on his middle, instinctively he cups the swell of his lower belly

it perfectly fills his palm, warm excitement bubbles up in his chest, like he suddenly has too much energy where he just wanted to crawl into bed a minute ago, he scratches over the sensitive skin to alleviate the excited buzzing, it does nothing except make him want to touch more, explore, really push his limits

there's a certain spirit for competition needed to make it in his profession, a drive that takes Chris over now and stirs him into the kitchen, not the bedroom

just a snack, nothing crazy, maybe another beer, it's barely past 1 am

he grabs a pack of peanuts and a beer, some water too, as fun as this is hangovers are a bitch

just in socks, underwear and a shirt Chris flops down on the bed, he takes a pull from the bottle before he rips open the peanuts, the salt is exactly the thing he needed after a few hours of drinking, he didn't go overboard, just maintained a constant buzz that had him feeling happy, floaty and in exactly the right mood to down an entire package of salted peanuts

it's the perfect feedback loop, salt, beer, salt, beer, the package is empty in no time at all and Chris can almost see his belly bloat from how quickly he finishes the beer, it feels like an achievement when the empty bottle hits his nightstand

with no one around Chris doesn't even try to stifle his burps, sprawled out on the bed, he almost feels like some roman ruler, pure decadence

there's nothing better than running his hands over his belly, it's so round, his sides too, he can't quite grab any fat yet but just being able to pinch a little roll makes him want more, more food and long evenings spent in some dimly lit bar surrounded by the people he loves most, more lazy days and days capped off with a cold beer

his hands travel lower and it's like a switch is flipped, his mind scatters, flooding with images of his bloated belly getting bigger, softer, his entire body, now that he's looking have his thighs gotten thicker? didn't they used to have proper muscle definition?

when he relaxes completely there's a slight jiggle to them, god he can't wait for that to develop properly, action hero figure be damned he needs to know what another 20lbs will look like

ALRIGHT ANOTHER OC POST this time I'm doing one for Cheri!!

As a little bit of background, Cheri and my other dragon OCs live in a separate world populated entirely by different subspecies of dragons. Different types of dragons living in different areas and ecosystems caused them to evolve in unique and varied ways! The world itself has a fantastical history, with almost every dragon possessing some level of magical affinity in the past, but as technology and innovation become more prominent, magic powers have become a little bit more rare. I'll go into more detail with worldbuilding stuff later, but for now back to CHERI!

Cheri comes from a dragon species known as Emprosa Dragons! They live in moderately sized villages at the base of mountains, such villages are littered with cherry blossom trees that bloom year round, as well as numerous inns and eateries that Emprosa Dragons specialize in. Emprosa villages are known for their hospitality and laid back lifestyle, the telltale grove of cherry blossoms serves as a beacon for weary travelers who need a place to rest and rejuvenate. As far as their individual appearances, Emprosa Dragons have large, fluffy ears that are often styled just like hair, as well as cheek tentacles that grow longer as they age, and they can easily grow back if trimmed. Their hands and feet are large paws, and only rarely are they born with claws. They are one of many dragon species that exhibits several mammalian traits, like fur coats that vary in thickness depending on the climate they live in, and their fur typically takes on different pastel colors depending on the region. Finally, Emprosa Dragons tend towards being fatter due to their metabolisms, as well as their famously delicious baked goods, but there are many instances in which they grow up to be taller and skinnier instead.

Alright NOW for Cheri himself for real this time!!

Cheri comes from one of the warmer climate Emprosa Dragon villages, he spent a lot of his childhood living with his family and helping to run the inn they managed. For a long time, he would see travelers visit the inn and share their stories of the world they roamed, and it inspired him greatly to do the same someday. Eventually, when he turned 18, he left his village to go on a journey of his own, hoping to become a renowned hero.

Though he never really had the physical attributes to be a legendary adventurer, Cheri's boundless enthusiasm always kept him going, even during the the toughest moments he would be wearing a big smile. His outgoing nature led him to meddle in other peoples' affairs quite a bit along the way, but it led him to making lifelong friends that he ended up travelling together with. The story of him and his friends' journey is a long one that involves a lot of their individual arcs, someday I might flesh it all out more but that's a pretty big undertaking!

Long story short, Cheri had a long and eventful journey with his friends, they probably saved the world at one point, and at present the world they live in is calm and peaceful, with the band of heroes solving more minor crises from time to time, but largely just enjoying life together.

As life calmed down, Cheri relaxed into a more peaceful lifestyle, and ended up gaining a lot more weight once he turned 21. His magic power allows him to shed his weight pretty quickly, and Emprosa Dragons naturally gain weight quickly, so as a result Cheri is able to manipulate his weight with relative ease. However, during times of peace, he prefers to let himself remain larger and comfier, as a sign that he doesn't need to live up to a great threat or crisis.

Cheri's optimism and passion are staples of his personality, no matter what he is always ready and willing to give anyone a long pep talk for the tiniest of things. He's always loved the idea of heroes fighting for justice, and despite not being as capable to be one himself as others, it was something he strove to be for a long time. The biggest change upon relaxing into a peaceful lifestyle was putting less pressure upon himself, and minimizing the hot-headed aspects of his personality. More recently, he enjoys relaxing and sleeping a lot more, and has no shame about days where he just enjoys living.

Finally, Cheri's magic power is Healing Flame! From his paws, he can produce teal-colored flames that have the power to heal anything organic. The flames aren't very hot at all, but if he's angry or just puts a lot of effort into it, he can create fuschia colored flames that burn far hotter. Additionally, he has a special move called Immortal Inferno, in which he surrounds himself in his own healing flames to make himself immune to damage. Using Immortal Inferno or his fuschia flames causes him to burn body fat, so he can only use either for short periods of time.

And there we have it for Cheri!! It's tough to be entirely comprehensive with these so I'm always more than happy to answer questions about him :)

Aww, you can really see how stuffed/bloated he is from whatever new serum they're testing on him.

I don't know if this is actually canon or just something the fandom came up with, but let's go with it. So, Steve burns a lot of calories and eats about twice the amount an average man does. I think Hydra would try to "optimise" the Winter Soldier's metabolism.

In the initial testing stage they see little improvement in the Winter Soldier's metabolism and performance on lowered food intake. However, there are no negative side effects either. So, they give him more of the serum to see if that has an effect.

His increased healing factor keeps his stomach from rupturing and ensures that his skin stretches instead of tearing, but it still hurts like hell to be that full. Of course, no one stops to ask him and the Winter Soldier has been taught how to deal with pain.

So, he grits his teeth and tries to dissociate from the entire situation, but unlike with other pain he can't seem to ignore the painful bloat completely. He gets the strange urge to rub his own belly, that even breaks through the command to stay still, as they funnel more of the serum into him.

It works. The Winter Soldier is out in the field for two weeks with no food and barely a liter of water. However, even non-enhanced Hydra agents can go two weeks without eating and Hydra doesn't stop at good enough. So, they keep him out of cryo to keep feeding him the serum. They get his maintenance calories down so far that he can easily fight for weeks on just one meal.

However, when they freeze him again until he's needed for the next mission, they don't think to adjust the calories in the feeding tube they hook him up to during cryo. So, the Winter Soldier gains weight. And quick. No one notices of course because the cryo chamber isn't see through and they only keep track of his vital signs from the outside.

That is until one day the guards hear a creaking coming from the cryo chamber. The Winter Soldier's vital signs look normal, so no one thinks to check inside. It goes on for weeks, the creaking becoming louder and more frequent. One of he guards notices after weeks how the lock on the door has been bent out of shape and that's when they finally check on the asset.

When they open the cryo chamber everyone is in for a surprise. The Soldier's belly surges forward and forcefully pushes the latch of the chamber open. There are marks on his skin from how tightly it was pressed up against the cryo chamber's doors.

They don't know who messed up and gave the Winter Soldier his old feeding tube, but when someone tries to suggest it was a mistake, he pays with his life for even thinking Hydra could make a mistake. It's decided that it was sabotage.

The Soldier is out of commision as they try to get him to lose the weight, but with his "optimised" metabolism it takes more than a year to even get him down below 200lbs again. After that they keep him leaner than he needs to be just to make sure anything like this doesn't happen again. (basically ca:tws)

When Bucky escapes Hydra and flees to Romania, he barely manages to eat every other day and yet he still packs on weight. By the time Steve finds him Bucky is firmly back over 200lbs.
