Control - My Tav x Halsin - A four chapter short interlude between Acts 2 and 3 in which a struggling Tav (my Ranger drow Dayan) needing some kind of catharsis he can't name, goes down by the river (lol) to blow off some steam, but is found by a concerned druid, who might have just what the healer ordered to help his anxiety-ridden mind. - 16k words - A little characterization, a lot of smut. Fea. bottom submissive Halsin and Entangle-based shibari! One of my favorite things I've written. (I've also rewritten some sections, give it another look if you read it awhile ago.) Considered very hot by some. uwu

Between Want and Need - Astarion x Halsin

- One-shot of some hurt/comfort between Astarion and Halsin, a slow realization, some fun party banter and a sweet sentimental ending.

Desert Heat - original WoL x ffxiv OC

- My very first fic ever! A queer Miqo'te x Miqo'te heatfic that's about 40% plot and 60% smut, with a myriad of kinks. Trans femme character! Bisexual catboys! Which is kinda redundant to say! I'm insanely proud of this it took me over 3 months to write.

- The chapters are a little long bc I didn't really know how long a chapter should be at the time, they end when it feels 'right'. One lone male bun against an entire village of Viera women in heat. What's a boy to do...? - 7.5k words - A shameless smutfic all about nearly an entire village of hot Viera bunny girls ganging up on the one guy in their midst during their heat cycle. Pretty dang hot I do think!

The Price of Regret - several FFXIV NPCs

q. What is your WoL's species? a. Fluffy humanoid beast? Catperson? He thinks?? Everyone calls him a "milk quote" something and at this point he's too far in to just turn around and ask. (Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te)

q. What is your WoL's class? Or classes? a. Canonically switches them up depending on expansion. Started as a Black Mage, went Red Mage in Heavensward, swapped between Machinist and Dancer in Stormblood, and currently (because I'm not at Endwalker yer) mains both Reaper and Dark Knight in Shadowbringers. I'd imagine his "true" main is probably just Red Mage, with maybe a hint of DRK in there for spice.

q. What data centre/server are you on, if you want people to find you? a. Crystal, Goblin! I'd love to hang with people sometime. There's so many scales left to grind for that damn Rathalos mount.

q. Tell us a bit about your WoL! a. (No major spoilers aside from vague Stormblood references!) Rigel is! A jerk! He's always been a little jerk at heart, and regardless of setting, he always falls back to being a little jerk… on the outside. He's smug, cocky, insults you for fun- the physical embodiment of every terrible gay twink at every gay bar ever. And then sometimes he's alone and starts randomly sobbing. And sometimes he's cuddly and desperate for affection. And sometimes he's intensely devoted to the people he's decided are his family, even to the point of death. And sometimes he's just deeply lonely. There's a lot of suitcases upon suitcases to unpack, here. Once upon a time, in the midst of some guy's ambiguous tragic backstory, he suddenly woke up in the wastelands of Carteneau with no idea where he was or how he got there. After coming to the terms with the fact of being a catboy, they decided to take up odd jobs and favors around the first place they ended up traveling to- some weird obscure city called "Ul'dah". Eventually they ran into some equally-obscure guy called Thancred, and the rest is the plot of the universally acclaimed MMO with an unlimited free trial going up to level 60 including the award winning expansion Heavensward. They are. Mixed. On the whole "being a hero" thing. He really just wanted to go home, but suddenly he's saddled with two teenagers, a job, and a weird blond stalker with a rampant masochism streak. Also the crippling identity and existential crisis, but shhhh, those haven't hit him yet. A universal trait of Rigel is that he likes to sing. I didn't list Bard as one of his canonical jobs, but I can see him unironically picking it up as a genuine stress reducer. He has a thing for music, and art, and history, and reading, and all combinations of the four. That aside, he probably delights in the little mundane things the most, like building a rock collection or taking a relaxing nature walk.

He's an unrelated OC (named Rigel Alphoris-Orionis, go figure) that I decided to import into FFXIV as a semi-joke when I wasn't sure if I was going to stick with the game. By the end of ARR, I ended up going all-in on the concept of him being the unfortunate protagonist of life, and now in my personal canon he is quite literally just that OC isekaied against his will into Eorzea. Terrible personality and all. And his soul is puppeteering a corpse Ascian-style, but nobody (including him) actually knows that yet.

Fled to Eorzea to seek help in freeing his homeland of Dalmasca, only to get picked up by the Scions like a stray cat. He enjoys being a hero, although it does get a bit tiring after so often to him. But Syla enjoys being a beacon of hope and relief for others.. His free time is spent either working and tinkering on his gunblade and cartridges or training with allies.

10 years ago today.

Despite playing the beta and loving it, I actually didn't buy A Realm Reborn on release for a few reasons - I was just about to start my third and final year at art school, didn't have much money and my laptop at the time struggled with the game, plus I knew about the server issues going on at launch so I didn't feel too bad for missing it. I owned a PS3, but I'd heard what everyone said about it being inferior to playing on PC, so I was hesitant, but a couple of weeks later I bought it for PS3 anyway because I really wanted it. I feel like that was perhaps the first time that FFXIV helped me to cast off the influences of others and make my own decisions.

The first character I made in the game proper was a Duskwight arcanist. He doesn't exist any more, but I found screenshots of him the other week when I dug out my PS3. Back then, I was excited by the amount of options in character customisation because I hadn't played an MMO before with the level of variety that XIV had. I played around with a whole lot of different characters, most of them being on the extreme ends of things - unnatural blue and green skintones, tiny Lalafells, huge Roegadyn women who towered over everyone else. I really liked that those were options for the protagonist of a game because I hadn't played many other games where they could take a leading role. The first character I took to level 50 and spent the most time on, to start with, was one of those, but it took me much longer to realise that I was playing a character who I wanted to exist in the world, but not one that I actually connected with on a personal level.

Early on I also messed around with male Miqo'te and Midlanders, and I made a couple I really liked, but I was reluctant to actually commit to them and I think it was because I felt like I "shouldn't" - because it was predictable to be an anime catboy or a plain old human man, it was boring, those things had been done before. In a game that allowed you to be some combination of traits that was hardly ever seen in a protagonist role, why would you pick something that was basically... a trope? That's kind of how I felt, or rather, had been made to feel. I was mildly embarrassed that I wanted to be a catboy, so I resisted it for a while.

Eventually, though, I did take the plunge to make one and level him alongside a friend who had picked up the game a few months later.

That was Ayin'a. That was really where things began to change for me. I was finally playing a character who I really felt a connection with, who I felt actually represented some part of me rather than ones who I absolutely loved being part of the world, but just weren't really "me". I started to write, to roleplay, to create, to form connections with people with him as my avatar. I was enjoying myself and I was inspired in a way I hadn't really felt... probably since I was a child, because I was doing things from the heart, rather than trying to follow an idea of what I thought I should be doing.

A lot has happened since then and it's way too much to go into here, but this for me was a huge turning point that provided me with inspiration and passion to hold on to in some very, very bleak times in my life. And from there, more came - with a better understanding of what I found interesting, what I liked in a character, what I was interested in exploring and writing... My identity began to solidify thanks to this process. After a long, long long and dreadful slump I started to make art again because of FFXIV. And now, I'm fortunate enough to be in a position where I can call making art my career, where I can look forward to what the future may hold for me as an artist, because of the experiences I've had with this game.

Incidentally, Ayin'a himself is now retired as of Endwalker, both in and out of character. For as much as he means to me, he was never intended to be "the" Warrior of Light, and as soon as I was able to make a character who suited that role (it only took 6+ years...), I started winding down his role as my "main" in a gameplay sense, because at last I had character who belonged in those MSQ cutscenes rather than having to feel mild uncomfortable as I watched them feature a character who would absolutely not be in that role.

Plus, when it comes to his own story, he's had enough too - he made a bunch of money, got married, settled down in his beachside house with a bunch of odd pets and his husband to be a reclusive and grumpy yet altruistic neighbour. He's still around, and always will be, both in FFXIV and in other worlds I choose to transport him too, but for now that chapter is over. I'll always have a soft spot for him and how he was the start of my journey to understand myself and find my place in the world, just as I'll always be grateful for all the many, many ways in which FFXIV changed the course of my life.

I'm looking forward to the next ten years, and there were times in the not so distant past when I had no hope that I'd ever say such a thing truthfully.

5 from your oc list!

(For reference: How important is it to you that your OC is attractive? Does that mean attractive to you personally (sexually or just for purposes of playing dress-up!)? Or do you aim to make an OC over which others will inevitably thirst?)

Not really that important I guess? Since I don't tend to be so focused on the shipping or romance elements (although I am a big fan of them in other people's work!)

I never really considered attractiveness when I was creating Mimble, because it wasn't something that would have occurred to me to think about to be honest. Especially since I was certain I wanted to make a lalafell, and I assumed (like my gnome in WoW) that people wouldn't see a lalafell character that way (if anyone paid me attention at all to begin with).

That is not to say I have any objection to lalafell OCs being portrayed or role-played as fully-functioning adults, with full adult relationships. It's just that there are lots of other things I wanted to explore with Mimble and to a degree he probably reflects my somewhat ambivalent attitude to the whole sex business anyway.

With Humble....yeah I did kind of challenge myself to make a more "sexy" character, but sexy in my own way. So I made him a bit of a self-insert - a sexier version of me in appearance, but with enough shyness and awkwardness to make him relatable. Attractiveness wasn't essential, but it was a consideration this time.

Consequently, I didn't go down the route of making a super cute catboy or a sexy highlander, since, much as I find them extremely pretty, I wouldn't be able to put myself into the role of that sort of character in the same way - it wouldn't be relatable for me to play. I don't know if that makes sense? I feel like I'm explaining it badly.

I do have some very overtly sexy retainers though. Much to my housemate's amusement!

Sadly I don't think anyone is likely to thirst over poor Humble, and I didn't really create him with that in mind. Not that I would object at all if they did (although he might panic). Male Roegadyn aren't really most people's idea of sexy, especially compared to Miqo'te and Viera and Elezen etc.

But at least that makes him relatable for me - I have plenty of experience of being a big guy in a world of twinks - something I always describe as feeling a bit like being a sausage roll in a bag of twiglets!

my thoughts storywise so far have been:

Boy, am I glad this story is not about the WoL, but about someone else, and we're just some guy she brought with her from another country, and her entourage is just a gaggle of guys.

No, I really can't tell you how fucking glad I am that we aren't the Warrior of Light from whom the whole plot circles around.

Wuk Lamat and Koana's relationship is very wholesome now that we know Koana's backstory and why he's so protective of his adoptive family. I get it, little guy.

I'm so fucking glad no one knows the WoL's history with the tribes in ARR jesus fucking christ. It's not canon for Alm but like... geez.

I gotta fanta Alm to the talles Miqo'te asap. It'll make the height difference with Koana funnier while making it funnier that he's so fucking short to like half the people here anyway.

At first I thought Bakool Ja Ja might go thru a character arc but now I just want him to eat rocks a little more than I already did. It'd be funny if he got Guel'd tho.

Did I ever mention how Gulaal Ja Ja's story and character is literally Alm. The Head of Resolve anyway. The Head of Reason is more Celica-core. But the whole 'unites a peoples by resolving their conflicts and trying to talk things out or otherwise use force when all else fails' is.. yea you know.

I, not my catboy, would like to become Wuk Lamat's third father. With all that it entails.

Yes, Papá, I COULD tell this trial was to MAKE a Dawnservant, not choose one. The moment the trials were to learn about the peoples, their traditions, and why they do what they do, it was kind of obvious. I also really liked it. Been having a good time thus far with how we have been respectfully shown these people's history and traditions, at least some of it, and come to understand them a little better.

I'm so uninterested about The City of Gold, you don't even know.

That trial ruled. I'm mad at the sch who read that I said I wanted to run it blind and to let me die if I was dumb, then proceeded to rescue me out of a mechanic. Go away!

Aymeric looks solemnly into your eyes as he places a kiss on your hand.

The words he just said failed to process in your mind, causing you to just stare at him wide eyed.

He ends up nervous when he doesn't hear a reply from you; he's terrified that he presumed that it was the right time to ask you when in fact you still weren't ready, and that he's broken some of your trust because of this.

"My love...? I'm sorry, I didn't mean to shock you. I'd understand if you aren't ready yet."

He says, taking your hands in his. Although he does his best to sound calm, you heard a hint of sadness when he spoke.

You gently cupped his cheeks as you look straight at him in the eye, your straight forward action causing the elezen to slightly blush.

I want to spend the rest of my life with you, you tell him before sealing your promise with a kiss.

Estinien Wyrmblood

You're taken aback by Estinien's request, as you didn't peg him to be the type who would be a romantic, albeit awkward about it.

"I'd rather not ask you about this, but I don't really trust anyone else but you with this decision."

You started bursting out laughing, causing the Ishgardian elezen to growl at you, reminding you that he was very serious about confessing to a special someone.

Just tell them how you feel, moron. You jokingly say. You were curious—just who was this mystery person that enamored the hatred-filled heart of Estinien to the point where he would willingly ask for advice?

Estinien plants his face in his hand, mentally wrestling between his thoughts of pursuing his heart or trying to get himself out of the eventual situation.

But he of all people knows that it is better to have done something instead of nothing at all. So with a big huff, he calms down his breathing before finally meeting your eyes with a piercing gaze.

G'raha Tia

You and G'raha look lovingly at the young children playing around the streets of Mor Dhona, enjoying this rare day off by absolutely doing nothing bu relax.

While you calmly looked at the children, the miqo'te was losing his mind. As childish as it is to admit, he can't help but wonder how it would be when he finally begins to make his own clan with you.

He imagines you and him, playing with young ones he proudly calls his little cubs. Side note though I'd imagine G'raha to be totally stoked about adopting kids.

But until the fate of this star is unknown, he's willing to hold on to his yearning feelings and wait for you, just as you had for him while he slept within the chambers of the Crystal Tower.

However, when he looks at the soft gaze you're making to the frolicking kids, he can't help but think...

when I first started playing ffxiv it was just a couple months after finishing an campaign with Alaris and I was in withdrawl and went "what if i made alaris a catboy lol" and thats how aurele started. You can see that they share a conceptual origin, yet have become distinct individual characters. the reason alaris has soo many more bubbles filled in that aurele on the character sheets is that alaris is like 40 years older than aurele and has had more time to pick up skills.

what's funny is that they're both perpetually poor. Alaris because things just keep falling out of his pockets and he doesn't care and Aurele because gig economy. Both would probably be decent at seduction if they tried but neither really care. Alaris probably accidentally seduces people (because high cha bard) but I'm not counting that. mmm perhaps i should cross out seduction and write charm, both are quite charming people. Aurele being illiterate is still very funny to me but like aurele's just a farm boy. i mean do you really think eorzea has a functioning universal education system? Aurele (like Alaris) actually likes new things and learning and in time line C (out of A-E) when he joins a certain adventuring party and goes side-questing, he probably does get bullied into literacy. Aurele probably learned to write his name and not much more.

aurele novae is more like a professional name, its not quite a fake name but tis not quite his real name either. its what he signed up under for the adventurer's guild. aurele's not stupid but he does have a soft heart and wants to do things for other people (this is central to his character arc), so he's easy to bully but you'd feel bad about it afterwards. funfact! He uses "Aurele Novae" because his friend was in thd middle of an elf weeabo phase at the time. in ffxiv the elves/elezen are french, so aurele novae is using french orthography. you actually meet an elf aurel in game later. His birth name is pronounced the same but under conventional eorzean standard orthography it would be rendered N'uuhrel Tia. also its technically Aurèle but ffxiv doesn't allow diacritics. Out of universe he's names Aurele for his heart of gold. So after Aurele took the fall for his little sister and received a dishonorable discharge from the maelstrom he decided to get away from it all. Izaikil is a traveling magic scholar and also a character that i made when i was 12. the two of them initially met in limsa, aurele was on shore leave and izaikil was studying at the arcanists guild. when aurele was looking for where to go, izaikil was in gridania studying history and conjury so feeling a bit lost aurele decided to go to gridania on a whim. so while he's from la noscea, he signs up for the gridanian adventurer's guild.  Elezen are the only race native to eorzea (canon) so in studying eorzea's history izaikil learns a lot of elezen history and ends up picking up some Old Elezen (this language(french) was eventually replaced by Eorzean Common(english)), so when Aurele mentions that he's thinking of signing up under a slightly different name, Izaikil proposes transcribing it using Old Elezen(french) orthography.

so aurele's hometown is a little isolationist and xenophobic which is why his generation wanted to spread their wings and see the world. his village wasn't traditional in the miqo'te sense. they were sedintary, they did some hunting but also fishing and a lot of agriculture. and the village didn't have a traditional social structure. so his two moms (1) did not bring him up with a lot of traditional cultural practices. so as an adult meeting miqo'te who live their cultural heritage, there's an awkwardness amd a sadness that this is his heritage too, its a sense of loss for something he never had. its more like a vague acknowledgement of the different paths life has led us all on. Aurele doesn't have a big dramatic character arc like say the disaster lesbian duo have, he's just some dude there's nothing special about him, he's like a level 15 archer npc. I'd say he mostly deals with the same types of things most people in their 20s deal with, settling into one's own self, a solidification of identity, deciding what one wants to do with their life. He balances out his desire to take on the burdens of others with a wider perspective, and his ability to bring people together and build community really starts to shine. exactly what happens to him depends on the timeline. he mostly becomes a botanist, maybe he picks up some conjury and magic, maybe he builds a life in gridania, maybe he moves back to la noscea. he loves adventuring and meeting new people and seeing new places but i do think he settles down eventually. not quite sure exactly what he does. maybe he takes over his villages orange orchards? starts a vinyard? community farm co-op? who knows

mmmm how do I describe it... Aurele has very pretty eyes, very clear and bright, so while that green is the base color  they appear brighter/lighter in real life (fiction real life that is). And he has gold flecks in his eyes too, from afar his eyes are a light yellow-green (chartreuse???) but close up you can see they are green and gold. also he's got tareme eyes. Noyu's the one with tsurime eyes. Alaris has unusual eyes too now that i think about it. i may have a character design quirk... Alaris takes pretty strongly from the human side of his family but his eyes are brighter and more jewel like than a pure human's. I guess you could say his eyes are hazel but like an extreme elf-y version so they shift around different combinations of green, turquoise and gold depending on the lighting

Day 1: Foster

I don't really understand this word so im writing about a botanical garden somewhere i've been called foster's except its got catboys (this actually takes place in sharlayan)

"Alright, I know you're here," G'raha Tia called out impatiently. The building was dark, it being so late by now, but the moon was bright and casting light on the mossy courtyard.

"You could tell?" a smooth voice responded from behind a tree. The crackle of leaves underfoot a few yalms away and out slipped the tall figure of a Viera man. Lam Voutemps carried himself with a casual air, one hand in his pocket and another twirling a leaf between his fingers.

"You're not nearly as sneaky as you think you are. Now what was it you needed to tell to me?"

A sly smile spread across Lam's face. "At this point I'm surprised you still come when I ask for you, shouldn't you be expecting that I'd have nothing of import to share?"

G'raha's face flushed, his ears twitching in indignation. "I-it's just- there's still a chance it really is important!"

"Well I do have some knowledge to share with you, and it's that this garden here is better at night. You know, when all the bookworms are out of here and it's just you and nature," said Lam, as if he himself wasn't one of those bookworms.

"I can't say I've ever thought about it." G'raha's ear flicked forward in mild curiosity as he surveyed his surroundings.

They were standing in a clearing between several tall trees, paved paths branching out from every side of the clearing. One tree in the far corner caught his eye, gnarled bough holding fruit larger than his head. The lowest branches still carried round pinkish flowers, and between the petals were dozens of overlapping filaments that looked eerily like a mouth full of teeth. His eyes flicked to the large sign underneath that carried a warning in bold script.

"Impressive collection though, isn't it?" Lam followed the other's eyes to yet another tree with ashy bark and hanging roots. "They spend all their time and energy maintaining these foreign plants despite having no interest in the world they come from. Bunch of hypocrites." 

G’raha hesitated, gathering his thoughts on the matter.

"It does sound fun, though, being the researcher sent out into the world to collect specimens like these. Don't you think about leaving here?"

"Ah, you and your adventures," the Viera replied languidly. G'raha's ears turned back ever so slightly in apprehension.

Lam shook his head. "I think if I left there would be a very audible sigh of relief coming from the entire population of this island. So of course a part of me wants to stay and deny them that."

"But?"

"But there's always something out there right? Something new, pieces of a long-forgotten puzzle waiting to be put together. Even someone who's lived as long as I have, a good 300 years by now, still has things to learn about the world."

G'raha rolled his eyes. "I know you're not that old, can we put an end to that farce?" he groaned.

Lam shot him a grin, the flutter of his lashes catching the Miqo'te's breath in his throat. "Alright, just for you, I can drop that act?" he offered. "More importantly, you're actually going to be going on an adventure soon aren't you? Your thesis work starts within a week."

"Ah, right, exciting times," G'raha mumbled. It was impossible to keep the nerve out of his voice, as excited as he was about it.

He hadn't noticed the other had walked away until Lam appeared at his side and handed him a large white flower, the pale petals seeming to glow softly in the light. G'raha looked down at it quizzically, running his finger gently down the smooth milky surface.

"You're really not supposed to be picking anything from here," he commented quietly.

"Oh never mind that. A toast!" The Viera held the flower up as if it were a wine glass. "To the Allag, and all the knowledge G'raha Tia is going to excavate from them!"

G'raha watched, bewildered, as Lam tilted his head and took a sip from the end of the floral tube. He pulled it away with a sigh as if he'd drunk from a refreshing pint.

Tentatively G’raha lifted his flower up and pressed it to his lips in the same manner. The liquid that dripped from it was sweet and slightly floral.

"That wasn't some kind of poison was it? Or some kind of drug? I’m not going to wind up intoxicated from that am I?" the Miqo'te demanded as the realization of just who he was dealing with hit him again. 

"Just nectar," Lam said pointedly. He pocketed the flower. "Can you tell me about your plans? Something to do with a Crystal Tower?"

G’raha regarded him with suspicion for a few more seconds before he settled for the diversion, his features softening before he spoke again.

They weren't really friends, as much as Lam would've liked it to be, so it had to be this way. Talk about studies and work.

The breeze rustled the leaves, bringing a sweet scent that settled on his nose, hundred year old branches creaking above them.

'Just nectar' he had said, but he might as well have been intoxicated with the foolish way he watched the Miqo'te talk, eyes following the path of red strands of hair as they fell into his face.

• I wanted to create a character like Chat Noir from Miraculous Ladybug but for my own.

• At first I had planned on making a fanfic featuring him and another person as the main characters, but he eventually was put on the back burner til I needed a romantic interest for Kaoru in the main narrative. He's essentially a catboi who is the culmination of what I find attractive in FFXIV paired with the voice and attitude of Chat Noir from Miraculous Ladybug.

• That I don't really have much of a feel for him 100% yet. He's still in the creation process and has been developing as I go, much like my main Kaoru has.

my miqo'te alfanz became an adventurer for several reasons, depending on where in the timeline you wanna start. he ran away when he was 15 after his family's death. something he's blamed himself for for a long time. ;; but in the canon time of the story, he became an adventurer to find a way to save his boyfriend. they were separated by an aetheric rift, and he's trapped in a parallel world. (this is my explanation for why i have two characters on two different servers KJBASBKJDAR)

in truth, i don't really see alfanz as a wol! he's just a catboy who's trying to take so much responsibility for things out of his control. all he wants now is to just reunite with his bf. he gets tangled up in soooome wol situations, but in general, i see him as Just A Guy. ;w;

i finally met the catboy everyone on tumblr was screaming about. I also did my first raid got lost and ended up with the wrong group and then i died! hmmm by busting open these defenses aren’t we making it easier for others to get in too? I think its be better to set up monitoring and surveillance since the tower seems to be doing a pretty good job of defending itself and if someone shows up go deal with them then so that overall there’s a shorter access window than if we bust it open we’ll have to guard it ever after.

I hope we get to see sharlayan given how this whole game has been the tale of post grads fieldwork adventures. i mean a very large portion of major characters are either from there or spent significant time there.

sometimes i can’t help but think the sound designers have no idea what they are doing. like they just put any song in.

had a feeling unei and doga would sacrifice themselves but couldn’t we have just left nero there, let him die. and g’raha whatever you have planned i don’t like it. So severing the covenant also cuts off the exit. seems a bit like contrived drama but ok. do both of them really have to stay though?

alright so the people sayin g’raha’s an allegan prince and just flat out wrong. good thing I have long learned to not trust a single thing anyone says on tumblr.

so this is one of the better little chapters so far in ffxiv though that’s not a very high bar. I so have 2 notable problems though both personal and not. 1, after the big deal that was made of the dangers of the tower, nothing was done to decrease the danger of the tower. The exact same problem of it getting into the wrong hands still exists, we just pushed that problem on to future people. and 2 is a personal preference problem. screw fate. this fate of G’raha’s is in the end a mixture of his interpretations of Unei, Doga, and Salina’s wishes. like, dude, you donxt have to do this. and conceptually its putting the tower on pause for a civillization worthy of the tower by locking away the key, but as you'll recall royal blood was needed to open the tower to begin with so any society that figured out how to bypass that and open the tower anyways and awaken G'raha wouldn't need the royal eye since they would have already made to way to mimic or bypass the royal eye requirements. and if G'raha awakened memories of how alleg or any useful information, he could write it down or encode that information somehow and leave that in the tower and then seal the tower behind him. and lastly without a way to access the tower the research team's efforts to understand it just got a lot harder. if we keep the premises of the tower being a beacon of hope then 1 seal it with the instructions/knowledge inside and the g'raha as a foremost alleg scholar can help make eorzea worthy of it and figure out ways around the royal eye requirement. or 2 figure out a way to keep it secure while research is actively conducted to understand how it works which would be really sped up by being able to operate it.

also, i totally got spoiled because tumblr and twitter would not stop crying about the catboy, but what i dont understand is how the crystal tower ended up on the First.

also also, i ended up taking a lot of screenshots with g'raha because having a 2 red headed cat boys in the same picture is very funny to me. i need to go find all the red haired male miqo'te players and have us take a giant group photo.
