#herons are one type of bird that will make me emo as hell for sure

went down to the marina and there were far far too many people which was mildly annoying but i was sitting by the pier and trying to drown out all the people with my headphones and a grey heron lands on the pier and hes walking up and down the pier for an entire hour and its just me and him and i cant look away and eventually most of the people have left and its gotten darker and im getting cold but this heron is still shuffling up and down the pier and he looks just so sad like a lonely old man and im the only one there who sees him so i cant leave first and im trying not to cry because its just me and this heron on the pier and i wonder if anyone will ever see him the way i do in this moment and i dont want to be the one that leaves him so i stay and i let him leave first.
