Michael hadn’t done much exploring since coming to Animatronica. After his disastrous first day in Mysterious Mines and Choppy’s Woods, he’d been too afraid to stray too far from Spring Bonnie’s guildhall.

But he’d been living there a few months, now, and was starting to adjust to the world, as well as the changes brought upon him. Within days, he’d gotten used to seeing paws and grey metal instead of his hands and skin. He no longer jumped when he saw his own reflection, or at the creaking of the broken rod that was his damaged left ear.

...the tail still freaked him out a little, with how it often wagged without his conscious say so, but he was working on that, too.

It didn’t take Mike much wandering to get beyond his usual comfort zone, but he couldn’t keep hanging around the guildhall forever, so he pressed onward. Fazbear Hills was actually a really nice place, he decided, when you weren’t being chased by hostile natives. Why hadn’t he done this earli-?

A stick broke with a small ‘snap’ behind him, and panic jolted through his chest. Mike jerked forward with a startled yelp, tail bristling, and spun around to face the supposed threat. Almost immediately, he coughed, and his ears (well, ear and rod) pulled back in embarrassment.

“Uh...sorry about that.” Mike wagged his tail sheepishly. “I, ah...heh. I’m a little jumpy today, I guess...”
