How to Get Your Friends into Doctor Who (2005) - A Guide
Tumblr media
Ok I really like Doctor Who, and of course I like introducing people to it, but oh my god do you forget how randomly terrible and/or cringy and/or uncomfortably Moffat-esque some of the episodes are, *especially* when you're watching it with someone who has no idea what to expect.
SO I made a list of ten episodes that I think would be the best loose sequence of episodes for a causal introduction to the show...
But first, some requirements:
It has to be a one-off (NO TWO-PARTERS), low commitment, etc
It can't require watching previous OR following episodes to be enjoyable
It needs to actually be good
It needs to represent Doctor Who well
In a social setting where you're showing a group of people an episode, most of these would be fine. Watching consistently with one person however, loosely follow this order, and if your person decides at any point that they want to commit to actually watching the show, skip straight back to The End of The World and watch Series 1. Ok list time...
1. Rose (S1, E01)
Tumblr media
I think Rose is the perfect episode of Doctor Who to start on. It's campy, it's fun and weird and it sets up almost everything you need to know for the Revival Era. You get the companion, the Doctor, regular Doctor Who tropes and themes, etc. Plus, if they can't get past the Mickey bin scene, this show probably isn't for them anyway.
2. Dalek (S1, E06)
Tumblr media
Skipping a few episodes into Series 1, Dalek is a great way to get a feel for the format of the show, and also a great and intentional introduction to the Daleks. The Doctor and the companion turn up in a mysterious place and have to battle an alien force and really unlikeable one-off side characters, the works basically. It's a fun monster-movie of an episode.
3. Vincent and The Doctor (S5,E10)
Tumblr media
Jumping a whole five series forward, Vincent and The Doctor is a notoriously heart-wrenching historical that I think is a classic (if a little indulgent) example of Doctor-meets-famous-historical-figure. It's nice to jump to a different Doctor and a different era of the show, to get a feel for its' diversity. Although there's a few moments relevant to the greater series plot, it's contained, very pretty, very sweet, and easy to understand.
4. Midnight (S4, E10)
Tumblr media
Midnight just feels like an essential episode to be honest. A fantastic one-off sci-fi horror/thriller, with one of David Tennant's best performances, a great introduction to the 10th Doctor. It's a shame you don't get more Donna, but I think this one would be my go-to if someone asked for the best episode to watch stand-alone, just based on how genuinely great it is.
5. Heaven Sent (S9, E11)
Tumblr media
Jumping to Series 9 with another critically-acclaimed episode, but also one that I think is an amazing introduction to the 12th Doctor. Heaven Sent is a little unconventional, and I'm not 100% sure it should be here, but it does give Capaldi a whole episode to just act his ass off, and he completely delivers. It's artsy, mysterious and dramatic, very much the high concept sci-fi style of Moffat's later scripts, so I think an appropriate watch.
6. The Voyage of The Damned (2007 Special)
Tumblr media
If you're not in a festive mood, try The Lodger or Demons of the Punjab instead
The Christmas episodes are too iconic not to show, and as far as Christmassy vibes, celebrity cameos and whimsical concepts go, this one is a fun one. This is David Tennant in his prime, with Kylie Minogue, a massive budget and a romp of a script.
6. Blink (S3, E10)
Tumblr media
I mean, duh, but genuinely I think Blink is just *too good* not to include. A tense, creepy, tightly-written piece of horror TV with twists and turns and drama, it's considered the best episode of Doctor Who for a reason, and along with Midnight is an amazing stand-alone episode. It's not super conventional, but all the timey-wimey stuff is very Doctor Who.
6. The Mummy on The Orient Express (S8, E08)
Tumblr media
If you're a Tennant stan you could swap this out for The Planet of the Dead
This one is just a fun one really. The Mummy on The Orient Express is stylish and fun, with a cool concept and a little peek into a more complex Doctor-companion relationship. With a short explanation you can get the context pretty easily, and it's a good example of your typical episode anyway.
HOWEVER if you have time, there's a bunch of two-parters you should watch instead, like The Family of Blood, The Empty Child, Silence in the Library, even Extremis.
9. The Haunting of Villa Diodati (S12, E10)
Tumblr media
Finally some 13th Doctor rep! This one has some of the strongest writing in the Chibnall era, and is a fun horror mystery that serves as a fun introduction to Jodie Whittaker as the 13th Doctor. It has a little bit of series-wide arc, but that's okay.
10. The Church on Ruby Road (2023 Special 4)
Tumblr media
If your person liked all those episodes but still doesn't want to watch 13 seasons of TV, just abandon ship and watch the 2023 Christmas special in preparation for Series 14 (or Season 1) in Spring 2024. The Church on Ruby Road is the beginning of the latest soft reboot of the show and has been explicitly created as a jumping on point for new fans. Ncuti Gatwa and Millie Gibson absolutely shine in this special, it's fun and silly and in my opinion bodes very well for the next season of Doctor Who...
"in 900 years of time and space, I've never met anyone who wasn't important" - Bannakaffalatta
I hope that was a success! After all those episodes hopefully you either had a good time with whoever you were watching it with, or you've already moved onto Series 1! I'll be trying this out the best I can with my girlfriend this year, so look out, because I may be back with adjustments later...

Doctor Who 60ies Anniversary Theory
I hope you are going to find this interesting. The theory is not complete since there are a few things that still don't make sense to me but, i might have guessed most of it. And i might keep this updated in the following months. :D
I'm going to use set pics, interviews, whatever is available to us since filming to prove my reasoning for this so, careful for eventual spoilers. To make this also useful in the future i might add links to sources when i'll find them again.
Also some of my italian friends who heard the theory first said i might be really close. (i hope so, that might be cool to guess right so much time in advance) So i warn you... Also this is kinda long sorry
First i'd like to start with some questions:
Who is Neil Patrick Harris's character?
Why did Jodie Whittakers 13th Doctor regenerated into David Tennant, instead of Ncuti?
Why is Donna Noble back, how can the Doctor and Donna interact without her dying or be hurt in the process apparently?
Where the hell is Ncuti Doctor and why he is so confused?
Some of these questions are easier to answer, and some can be answered together.
Question 1
From set photos, characterization and what we've seen so far, he will probably going to be the Toymaker, most known from being one of the enemies of the first Doctor (while he was traveling with Dodo and Steven). Coincidentally this year it was also released the Vinyl version of the original story in audiodrama format. I'm currently reading the novelization version that actually helped me figure out most parts of this theory. I don't want to lose too much time on this point since it's someting already explained better by other creators in these last 4 months, both The Confused Adipose, and Tharries did multiple video updates about it.
Question 2 and 3
Now that we explored who NPH might be, we can go to the real theory part, why and how does this make sense!? Short answer: It's all part of the big Toymaker game. And Donna's fate is the incentive for the Doctor to join it
The Toymaker wants to force the Doctor to play at his game, that he is plotting since the last time he lost to him, and he wants a second attempt at it, but he knows that the Doctor would never accept to play with him, so he has to force him to. How you might ask. First, the Toymaker toys with the doctor's appearence by turning him into the Tenth Doctor's old face*, then he manipulates him into meeting Donna**. Because he has that face, Donna is in danger as soon as they meet.
*I'm still working on how, but it might be because of all the regeneration-degeneration mess in Power of the Doctor that left both the doctor and the master very weak, and the immense Toymaker powers that are usually confined in his realm but RTD might have improved them a bit for these specials too.
**from one clip from the set we know that at first the doctor tries to not being seen by her, there's this moment when the Doc and Donna are separated by just boxes, and when one is removed the doctor makes sure to put it back where it was so to hide his face from her. So at least at first he is scared, he doesnt want to be seen by Donna, afraid of what might happen to her if she sees him. But in other moments on set we see them talking normally, also with other relatives and family present as if anything is wrong.
And we know this is dangerous because of everything that happened at the end of series 4 with the Doctor-Donna metacrisis plot. It seems likely to me, based on the other powers he has, because of how he tricked the doctor last time into falling inside his realm, that the Toymaker could stop the "metacrisis" madness from happening there***, just to taunt the Doctor with a choice: Playing his game, or letting Donna just die. Then, if that wouldnt be enough for him to proceed, giving him a price and a loss; if the doctor wins, the toymaker will remove the curse on Donna and she and the Doctor will both go on free, if they lose Donna will die and the Doctor will become the Toymaker "plaything" something that the Toymaker wanted from forever ago.
***The question i still don't know how to answer is: if the toymaker powers only work in his realm how does the Doctor end up in his realm before the regeneration Jodie-> Tennant happens. Easy answer, after all these years he just got massively powerful and just waited for the doctor to get really weak... But if i figure out something else i'll do an update...
Like in the original story, the Toymaker won't be fair during this game, and the other enemies found on set, like Beep the Meep and its enemy (cant remember its name now) might be also part of his plan to distract him from his game/bet.
I'm really not used to write these things, i dont know where to add this part, but the fact that the Doctor's clothes regenerated is not a mistake, or something to take lightly, the Doctor too seems puzzled about it, saying What! also while touching and looking at his new clothes, which again are not 10th Doctor clothes, even if the vibe is there.
Tumblr media
There had been other two regenerations inside Power of the Doctor so we know this is made on purpose. (Chibnall or RTD didn't forget how regeneration work, dont worry lol)
Also, i think the Toymaker tried to dress him up as close as possible like when 10th was traveling with Donna, but not getting it entirely right. Almost like, the toymaker tried to figure it out while not being able to know exactly right since he wasn't there to experience it himself. And so we see a blunt tie instead of a pointy one, we have a sleeveles jacket, the colors and materials are all wrong...
Question 4
This is what i'm less sure about, since the only thing we got is Ncuti Gatwa with Tennant's 60ies clothes being confused in a place where you can see only the sky filled with clouds.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It kinda reminds me of the Edge, that it was introduced as a concept in the Centenary Special, but with the sky before a storm. The place might change look based on how the doctor that is in control is feeling. Might be a cool thing to show.
Also it almost feel like (Ncuti) is talking with someone, in that case we might see other Doctors try to figure out why Ncuti is still here, in the limbo space and the 10th out there "again". Because of hearing or seeing no leaks about it i think we wont see anyone (for the centenery a pic of all the classic doctors eating together got found out, exactly around the time of filming...) but i hope so cause it might be fun!
Another idea is of him simply talking with himself, or talking with the current Doctor if he found a way to reach himself.
Also some people has said to me the Ncuti shot is when he has just regenerated from Tennant, but i dont think it is the case, like it doens't make sense to me his confusion and rage there... Also because i think that they wouldnt show us, him post regeneration already.
This ramble-theory is a mess but in conclusion...
What i'm sure about:
The Toymaker will be the main villain, and Meep the Beep just a distraction, as the clowns were into the original story;
Donna is the toymaker's trap into forcing the Doctor into his games;
The Doctor's appearence was deliberate, and made somehow by the Toymaker;
What i'm less sure about:
How powerful is the Towmaker right now? What can he do really?
This is happening for real or into the Toymaker realm?
Is Tennant really 14th and Ncuti 15th or its already Ncuti but with the Toymaker illusion affecting his appearence into Tennant?
This is still a theory that is a work in progress. I think it does connects more dots, then other theories that i read online, but it's not perfect, and i'll add to this when i'll either know more, or figure out a way to clear some of the biggest doubts.
I'm also 38% away of finishing reading the novelization of the original story, the thing that really made me want to write this. Also, for anyone who read until here, im so sorry for eventual errors in grammar or if it's not clear enough in certain points. I haven't written such complicated theories in English in quite sometime. Also I love and hate Rachel Talalay hints on instagram cause sometime they help and sometimes they really confuse me even more. I still don't know how to read her latest hint (The brickwall, her favourite new scene), cause by the text i'd say we'll see the return of the Weeping Angels ("Weep") and of Matt Smith (since he is working currently on the "Game of Thrones" spinoff)

holy shit.
thank you all so much for being invested enough in this au to follow me. i appreciate your genuine interest so much.
now! some announcements.
im going to do the final round of starter asks with daniel sometime soon, i just need to do a comic to lead in. after this, im going to be taking a break for studies, and to write out precisely the plot and possible endings will be. this will end aprox. the 2nd week of june, or, my first week of summer. the story will be primarily comics, but if i find a song fitting enough, i will... attempt animatics.
before or after events in the story, there will be asks with certain people that affect either the upcoming interaction, the perception of the previous plot point, or both. an example of this is stephen finding hosuh upset right before his asks started. if you hint at a certain thing enough and the person has reason to be suspicious, you can make a character act or say certain things. you can convince them to do things, within a certain realm of possibility of course. in summary, your asks will possibly affect the ending of the story; who lives, who dies, etc.
lastly, i want to thank you all again. im fairly new to this community, due to being too shy to join, but i feel deeply at home and friendly with most, if not, all of you. i hope you all have a wonderful week and so on.
and since i keep forgetting to do it:

Doctor Who Series 12 Review Part 7/10: Can You Hear Me?
Tumblr media
Air date: 9 February 2020
This was a pretty deep episode if you ask me. Dreams and nightmares have been explored in Doctor Who over the years, but this is the first time that we have gone deeper into them and linked it to mental health. Apparently, this was why a BBC Action Line tag was included in the original UK broadcast of the episode.
My spoiler-free thought for this episode: “Who let Gen Urobuchi touch the script for this episode?”
As the BBC Action Line was mentioned, I guess I have the duty to recommend some support lines before I start the review. This page has a vast collection of mental health hotlines and websites from around the world.
Spoilers continue after the break.
Character development everywhere
This episode managed to develop Graham, Ryan and Yaz’s characters at the same time as we gain an insight into their fears and nightmares. Graham’s fear was his cancer coming back and Grace being disappointed in him (which likely manifested as a result of the guilt of not being able to save her). Ryan’s fear was not being able to see his friend, Tibo, during his lifetime and the Earth turning into what would be Orphan 55 (as shown with the Dregs in his nightmare). Yaz’s fear was a bit confusing for me to decipher, but it seems to be being left alone with no one to help her.
At the end of the episode, it becomes evident that this experience inspires them to do something that furthers their characters. Ryan encourages Tibo to seek support or therapy for his depression. Yaz is inspired to seek the policewoman (Anita Patel, I hate it when they name characters in the credits and they don’t say who they are in the episode) who inspired her three years ago when she ran away from home to answer her bet. Graham confides to the Doctor his worries about his cancer potentially coming back.
At the same time, we also get an insight into the Doctor’s fear (at this point in time), which is evidently that of the Timeless Child and everything she knew being a lie. The Doctor’s previously known fear was back during his eleventh incarnation, namely the cracks in time not being fully resolved as a result of them leaving “scar tissue” in the fabric of the universe.
Overlords or not?
Zellin and Rakaya (the other imprisoned immortal whose name was never spoken in the episode) reminded me of the Overlords of Kamen Rider Agito... until we saw that they were both evil. I was going to put the Doctor into the equation, but then I realised that she is nothing like the Overlord of Light.
Let me clarify. In Agito, the Overlords are twin entities who embodied light and darkness. They created the world, but neither of them could agree on who would reign and so, they fought. After losing to his ‘brother’, the Overlord of Light bestowed his essence on humanity in the form of Agito’s power in the hope that they would evolve beyond his control. The Overlord of Darkness, however, saw to eliminate any who possessed Agito’s power and would have the potential to evolve into him.
Zellin and Rakaya are immortals who entertained themselves with the fears and nightmares of humans, while also destroying planets for their own amusement. The Doctor admires humanity’s potential and encourages them to be the best they can be, giving them as little assistance as possible so they can progress with their own abilities. In a way, they are somewhat like the Overlords, but they are not entirely like them at the same time.
A theory I missed about Ruth
I just realised something about Episode 5 that I forgot to include, namely the theory that Ruth was a pre-Hartnell Doctor. Now, I am of the belief that the First Doctor, as first shown in 1963, is the first of all the Doctor’s incarnations and that any attempt to shoehorn Ruth in at any point in the Doctor’s past (as we know to be) will be proof that the SJW agenda is here to stay.
Apparently, I saw that people were using the Fourth Doctor story The Brain of Morbius as evidence that the Doctor has had incarnations before the First Doctor, as we knew it, and used it as a theory that Ruth could be a pre-Hartnell Doctor. This is shown during the mindbending sequence near the end of the fourth part, where we saw a face apparently belonging to Morbius, then the faces of the Doctor’s previous incarnations, then eight other faces taken from the production team of the time.
Assuming the eight other faces were the Doctor’s previous incarnations and the Doctor can only regenerate twelve times, here’s my theory. Ruth could be a “missing” incarnation in the eight, making the Fourth Doctor the last incarnation in this particular regeneration cycle. The Watcher merging with the Fourth Doctor in his regeneration story, Logopolis, could represent him gaining a new regeneration cycle, but between that and the Eleventh Doctor gaining another regeneration cycle, there are still four incarnations left unaccounted for.
Going by this article on the TARDIS Data Core, some classic-era material seemed to imply that Hartnell’s Doctor wasn’t the first, with even Philip Hinchcliffe, producer of The Brain of Morbius, saying that it was his intention to do so. However, at this point in time, there has been no attempt to confirm this fact, so my belief regarding the Doctor’s incarnations has not deviated from the mainstream view. People can say that those faces were randomly generated or that they originally belonged to Morbius and I’d be inclined to agree with them.
At this point in time, all the episode titles for Series 12 have been revealed. With the final episode of the series aptly being named “The Timeless Children”, I hope the issue of Ruth being the Doctor can be explained, hopefully with the appearance of the Master.
Other general thoughts
The exposition of the two planets was animated in cartoon form. What is this, Homestuck?
Is it just me, or did the Doctor manage to summon her sonic screwdriver into her hand while they were cuffed? I’m sorry, but that is a deus ex machina right there. Someone stated on Twitter that the cuffs were magnetised, but there has been no indication or explanation that that is the case.
According to this Radio Times article, some fans said that the Doctor was apparently dismissive of Graham’s concern regarding his cancer coming back, particularly this fan on Twitter, who lost his grandmother to cancer. Um, the Doctor literally said she was socially awkward and her fam has known her for so long that they should know it, given her alien nature. It’s not the first time the Doctor has struggled with being sensitive towards vulnerable people. If it’s any consolation, she stated that she would eventually think of something that she should have said. If she was actually being dismissive, she’d be more like the Twelfth Doctor during Series 8.
I know I’ve hardly ever mentioned Bowlestrek during the course of these reviews, but I can’t help but say this. I’ve seen some of his reviews of this series, out of curiosity, and while I still agree with his sentiment somewhat, I can’t help but feel that he’s become a shadow of what he was two years ago, during Series 11. Heck, I made rants on a very divisive aspect of anime and video game localisation for five years and it only took three years to make me realise that I’ve become a shadow of myself, and yet I still went on for two more years after that. But I digress; I still think The Oldest Nerd does more level-headed reviews. Tharries sums Bowlestrek up quite well here.
Summary and verdict
This was another thought-provoking episode. If you go on to read the next section, you’ll see how this episode inspired me to talk a little bit about the lowlights of my life.
The characters got decent character development and while we didn’t get any more progress in the Timeless Child arc, it’s good to be reminded that it exists and that it is one of the Doctor’s biggest fears.
Rating: 8/10
Being as personal as possible (without going into too much detail)
Before I go IRL, let me tell you about a fan of mine from years ago. When I first started the Koei Warriors Rant Series, there was a fan who followed me as I presented my research on English dubbing in video game localisation. This person was trans and they had split personalities - a boy one, a girl one, and a third one they claimed was an evil one. They were lucky to be one of the only fans I added on my personal Facebook as I was posting to Koei Tecmo’s page from there before I moved it to the Yeonchi page. Over the years, I saw stories of them writing about their depression and how their family treated them like shit. Near the end, I reported a post where they said they were going to commit suicide by taking a lot of pills - this was their second time if I remember correctly. I still have the screencap of that post. Some months later, they deactivated their Facebook account and I never heard from them again. I presumed they committed suicide given some of their posts, but I never thought about emailing them or anything until I had already started writing the review for this episode. I have no idea if she’ll reply eventually, but if she doesn’t, then I guess my intuition may have been correct all along.
I was going through a random mood before and after I watched this episode. Before I watched it, my mind, for no reason, suddenly triggered my anger towards something I thought I’d forgiven years ago when I lowkey haven’t (which is why I elected to forget it in the hope that it’d be the same). After I watched it, I, for unrelated reasons, was “reminded” of a few people from high school (it’s a harmless habit that usually goes undetected by others that I’m also hoping to reduce) who I didn’t hang out with a lot, but they intrigued me in different ways. Like the Doctor admits, I have been socially awkward and am trying to overcome it little by little as I see old friends wherever I go (which frankly is a rarity for me), so I have different thoughts about them now than I did back then; I probably wouldn’t have been able to understand those current feelings back then.
One person was another socially awkward person like me, but she had managed to make a few friends in her locker area (she was special enough to have a locker with a few other special students in the year level above her instead of everyone else in our year level). Because of how “similar” our situations were, there were one or two times when our friends shipped us together (as a joke) and I was pissed at it because I never felt that way towards her. We did work together on a few pieces of schoolwork though. The real hitter for me regarding her was when I saw her contribution to an autism awareness project where she mentioned that she was homeschooled up until late into primary school and that she was bullied during the two years each in primary and high school. I was largely unaware that she had been bullied at all (though I did hear a story or two) and, for a great deal of the last decade, I was unaware that I had contributed to it indirectly by filming her on a couple of occasions during camp, screaming and crying at things normal people would have deemed harmless.
Another person was this girl I had this huge crush on during my entire time in high school. She was aware of it and she never loved me back, but the thing I hated about it was the fact that she didn’t tell me directly, in person or on Facebook; no, she was enough of a coward to have her cousin do it for her. Admittedly, while I did show a lot of animosity towards her, hatred even, my crush for her never subsided. If we were in an actual relationship, we’d be flip-flopping between being the abuser and the victim. At the time, I denied feeling this way because my anger and addictions to Dynasty Warriors, later tokusatsu, seemingly covered it up (I was very chuunibyou at the time and had fantasies of fighting her, wrong I know), but at this point, years after we graduated high school, I accepted that I did feel jealous of her, not just because she had a lot of friends and hung out with them all the time, but because she also hung out with a few boys and I was paranoid enough to think that they were in a relationship. I remember fictionalising all this as part of my personal project (that has a big connection with Doctor Who) ala Chris-chan with this girl and her friends as the villains. The main character (not the Doctor) of the project has a turbulent relationship with her - them being together represented my delusion of wanting to be with her, while them being apart and killing each other represented how she didn’t love me back and how I saw it as us hating each other. At this point, I’m planning on ending the personal project, so I put them back together and made them average characters just so I didn’t have to end the story with them killing each other.
The final person really pissed me off because of the way she acted towards the end of our friendship; she was a wolf in sheep’s clothing. She was a cold and socially awkward person when we first met, but over time, she warmed up to social interaction and we eventually became friends. At the end of Year 10, she moved to a different school because her dad just up and signed the contract for their new home. We still stayed in contact for the next few years and caught up with each other, even. Our catchup outings were generally pleasant, but there was this one time where it left a sour taste in my mouth. We went out to watch San Andreas with another friend of ours. We parted with our friend after the movie ended (he was also socially awkward like me) and soon after that, she got pissed off at me for no damn reason, other than me being blunt in our Facebook chats (remember, I was socially awkward at the time as well, but I still tried my best to carry a conversation even if I wasn’t good at it). I had no idea why she suddenly decided to be a bitch to me at the time, aside from a suspicion that she was PMSing at the time. We made up after that, but our friendship continued to drift as time passed. We managed to get into the same university, but we weren’t able to catch up as much as we wanted to because we did different courses and had different timetables. By the time that ungrateful slut (and no, I won’t apologise for that, that’s my honest opinion) deleted me from Facebook, she had a boyfriend and was going out to clubs quite a bit; it was like she became the protagonist of 177013, only she didn’t get injected with drugs and become a megaslut.
Sometimes, I imagine how happy I could have been if things had been different. Sadly, I have to live with the consequences of my actions, intentional or not, for the rest of my life. Many people seem to think that depressed women are the only people we should show compassion to, but they also seem to forget that men like myself can get depressed as well. At the moment, I’m doing just fine; I have a goal I want to strive for and I don’t intend on giving up until I get it - or someone gets to it first.
Stay tuned next week as I review the eighth episode, The Haunting of Villa Diodati.

Prison-bound lawyer to pay back over $300K he stole from clients
Prison-bound lawyer to pay back over $300K he stole from clients: Richard Zuvich, 64, was sentenced to five years in state prison.
A Woodbridge lawyer admitted to stealing his clients money, and entered into a plea agreement that includes five years in state prison and restitution of approximately $310,000.
Richard Zuvich, 64, of Woodbridge pleaded guilty Monday in Middlesex County Superior Court to thefts that took place between May 8, 2015 and July 2017.
In the first incident, prosecutors say Zuvich admitted he took the proceeds from a house sale for a client, put the funds in a trust account, then withdrew the funds for himself.
He pleaded guilty to theft by unlawful taking and misapplication of entrusted property.
In another incident, Zuvich stole the insurance settlement money for his client for a house that burned down. Prosecutors say the client had no knowledge that Zuvich had negotiated the settlement.
As part of the settlement, Zuvich pleaded guilty to theft by deception and theft by failure to make required disposition.
Zuvich has practiced as a lawyer for nearly 27 years.
He is scheduled to be sentenced by Superior Court Judge Pedro Jimenez in New Brunswick on Feb. 22, 2019.
