Even if I don't say it here, anyone who has played through the localization knows exactly what I'm talking about. And I've seem some wonder: is that what the visual novel really said? Or even if not word for word, did they in any way liken the eye socket to the female genitalia?

For that, a side-by-side comparison between the JP text and the localization text is needed. That, and running the JP text through three different MTL platforms.

Yes, MTL is not a perfect translation, because it's obvious that the text reads a bit odd at some parts, especially at the line where there's the words "slimy temperature". And yes, the JP text in that part does read as "slime".

But, MTL is still helpful by being an unbiased translation.

As shown, the visual novel said exactly nothing of the sort.

In addition, That Word is jokingly called "me-manko", as it's what the word would literally translate to in JP. So how does the final line read in romanized form?

"Shizen to iki ga agari, hibu o masagura rete iru ka no yō ni kaikan ga shimidasu."

No signs of "me" or "manko".

And so, the conclusion is that the localization tried to make a translation meme or a joke out of something that was never there. All the JP text said was that as Rei licked Towa's eye, Towa felt pleasure similar to the kind that he'd feel if he was being touched *down there*.
