out of all his friends, kusuo is probably most reluctant to tell aren about his powers because he knows how much aren values honesty and he genuinely believes that aren will think bad of him if he tells him how much hes deceived and manipulated those around him including aren himself(in his eyes at least) 😜

this idea would be really sad if it were kubosai.. personally i think kusuo would feel too guilty to date him before telling him about his powers so.. imagine them starting to get really close but it starts getting too romantic and aren starts seriously considering telling him how he feels (and we KNOW this would be a HUGE commitment if we remember how certain he was that he would eventually marry anyone he loved enough to date) AND THEN KUSUO PUSHES HIM AWAY

aren sees their entire dynamic change all at once and hes so confused because he was sure kusuo felt the same way he did.. but maybe he was wrong and got too close, making him uncomfortable, or maybe he HAD felt the same way and then aren did something wrong and ruined everything??? but kusuo is just too stubborn and scared to tell him the truth..
