if you have a mage as the hof but don't romance anders, he will say at the beginning of third act: "How can people be so blind? A mage saved all of us from the Blight! But it makes no difference." thought to share since you probably won't get this line with your future characters, and i personally like every bit when past protagonist gets mentioned :) also i'm curious, does bethany talk about the warden if they're surana? because with amell she kind of idolizes them and even muses about how SHE could have become the hero of ferelden, like, at least twise ("Mother watched her cousin lose so many children to the Circle. It was her worst fear. And then one of them became the Hero of Ferelden and saved us all." and "I used to wish I had just been taken by the Circle. Like our cousins. I could have been the Hero of Ferelden.") and it makes me. go oouugh. i can't articulate my thoughts well but she's so full of baggage, she's so complicated compared to how she appears at first glance. she's the reason i switched my main hawke's class. i derailed <3

ah i actually remember that line from my first da2 playthrough!! i’d forgotten abt it but i loved it sm. it’s such a shame you don’t get it if romancing anders. i would love that line for minerva because it’s so relevant to her—she did think being the hero of ferelden would change things and it never did :(

and no you don’t get those bethany lines for surana. aughhh that’s so sweet and so sad. i love bethany so much... i would love for this worldstate’s bethany to meet minerva some time even if this bethy doesn’t join the wardens. i’ll figure something out. they’d be so interesting and it would be good for them. and i’d love for bethy to meet my amell, halliserre, even if they’re tranquil... maybe during the rebellion or smth
