Stylish Students
This brief was set to push us out of our comfort zone by making us approach strangers and ask them if we can take their photo.
At first I was a bit nervous as its not something I'm used to doing in photography, even though I have done it before its not something I do often and I haven't done it in a while.
I'm happy with my results and I feel like as the day went on it got a lot easier to ask people.

Mounted image for end of year exhibition
I ultimately chose this image for the HND2 end of year exhibition as I felt it was definitely one of my strongest images from my project, and unlike the image I chose for my final from this same shoot (Final 7), I feel it reads better as a single print rather than part of a collection. The vibrant array of colours will definitely catch viewers' eye in a gallery space and I feel it will definitely stand out.

WAIT FOR IT - Research
Having the ability to capture that decisive moment in photography is something which can lead to a great and powerful image. In order to do this there is a lot to think about! Preparation and patience are key.
Here are some examples of the decisive moment.
Henri Cartier Bresson was one of the best at capturing these moments as shown below here. The composition, object placement, subject and surrounding come together to create such a fantastic image. All of these factors also suggest that he had planned this to some extent and had waited for it all to come together.
This is another example of capturing a moment. the composition of the stairs in this image is so visually striking and beautiful. The placement of the bike moving through the image once again shows the planning that went into this.
When thinking about how I would great an image like this I want utilise the contrast between light and shadows. I think using light in this way creates a strong visual impact.
Here are some images I have taken recently which are references for my ‘Wait For It’ project.

Zine Plan
Zine Plan
I plan to create a minimalist zine displays then and now images of Glasgow and surrounding districts. The images of now taken by me and the images of then taken by a late family member who took many photos between the late 50s and 70s. Using digital copies of these old film slides of Glasgow I shall scout out and match the locations I find interesting or have some kind of attachment too which has seen a good deal of change since the original slide image was taken.
I want it to be displayed in the style of a paper movie, much like The Americas by Robert Frank. One image per spread and little captions.
My images will be presented with a wide angle shot and the older slide layered on top, as shown below in an early test example.
