What is Satyanarayan Katha

Puja is a significant part of Hinduism, it is an act of invocation, prayer and offerings to divine god. The great thing about this puja is that it is not bond to any festivals. It is also believed that Lord Satyanarayana helps worshippers to remove sins from the past life. How to perform Satyanarayan puja
The key to perform Satyanarayan puja is faith, sincerity and devotion. This puja is a ritual which can be performed by anyone regardless of age or sex. This ritual sets an example that where God is concerned there should be no boundaries.
Satyanarayana puja consists of main three things, Puja, Satyanarayana Katha and Prashad. The Satyanarayan puja is initiated with a prayer to lord Gaṇesha, to remove all obstacles that may occur as a result of incorrectly performing the puja. The main puja of Lord Satyanarayana is done by keeping god’s idol, coin or photo. Lord Satyanarayana is first bathed and cleaned with panchamrutham. After placing the deity in the correct position, 1008 names of Sri Satyanarayana are chanted by the pandit followed by the person sitting in the puja. The puja is done by offering Prasad and flowers to the lord by the worshippers. Satyanarayana Katha Satyanarayan Katha(stories) starts which is a five-part story about how Satyanarayana puja originated, its benefits and the potential it has. And the importance of its Prashad.The puja gets ended with Aarti which consists of lighting camphor in the vicinity of an image of the Lord. Prashad The two main Prashad which are offered to Lord Satyanarayana Satyanarayana Pooja Maha Prashad- The Halwa and the Panchamrut. The Prashad also includes some fruits like bananas, apple oranges grapes etc. After the puja is over, participants and observers of the puja are required to partake the prasad that was offered and blessed by the Lord.
