‧˚₊∗ THERE'S ONLY SO MANY TIMES LOTUS CAN BE BOTHERED ARGUING ABOUT THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A LATTE AND A CAPPUCCINO, and she's of course not paid anywhere near enough to deal with clients who seemingly start debates with strangers as a hobby at god damn eight am on a wednesday morning.

" yes, you're right. it's the same thing. we just overcharge for lattes 'cause our boss likes scamming people. " all of this is spoken in the most utterly flat of voices and ultimately adorned by a customer service smile with way too many teeth to be genuine, but lotus somehow doubts a person like this would pay enough attention to tell.

it's not until said client leaves, looking oddly pleased with themself after ' winning ' the argument that she finally gets a chance to turn to face her coworker , while leaning back against the counter to try and relax. with a loud sigh that lets her annoyance dissipate and has lotus visibly deflating, she says, " elijah, it's your turn next time. that's three effin' arguments over coffee just today... we opened two hours ago! "oh no, this isn't your style at all!" felix exclaims, hanging the shirt she was holding back up. one of the first rites of passage as a new friend of felix's is that she has to take you clothes shopping (unless you insist like 20 times that you don't want anything). she just loves spoiling her friends, gift giving is one of her love languages after all.

quickly grabbing another shirt and putting it up against elijah's chest, felix purses her lips, staring intently. "i think this one looks better, the colour compliments your skin tone so well!" she grins at elijah, voice full of affection and excitement. "but as much as i love it, what do you think?"

For someone who's used to making a fool of themselves on camera, he sure is an incredibly bright shade of red right now. It's uncertain if the tears in his eyes are from embarrassment or the aftermath of shoving a burger down his throat. Big Mac. His phone is on standby, capturing the entire scene, including the stranger who is supposedly giving him a lecture for his poor choices for the price of fame. Words try to form, but it's hard to talk with a burger trapped in your throat.

He chokes and out goes the burger, pathetically falling to the floor. Still whole but soggy. (His manager will probably try and have him shove it back in the freezer.)
