What is Form 16?
If you're a salaried employee, you must have heard about the term TDS. It basically stands for Tax Deducted at Source. If your salary is eligible for a TDS deduction,  you will come across the form 16 at some point in your career.  Form 16 is essentially a certificate issued by an employer to the employee confirming the deduction of TDS on salary and payment of the same to the authorities on behalf of the employee.  The Employees are supposed to receive the form on an annual basis from the employer. In order to file Income Tax Returns in India, Form 16 is one of the pre-requisites and it helps vastly simplify the return filing procedure. Form 16 consists of Two Parts: Part A and Part B. As mentioned before, form 16 is issued is issued annually, on or before 15th June of the next year, following the financial year in which tax is deducted. Form 16 comes under Section 203 of the income tax act and is also known as the Salary TDS Certificate, Part A of this form serves as the proof tax paid.
Form 16: Part A
The part A of form 16 serves as a proof of the tax paid by the individual during the financial year. The part A of the form is generated through the TRACES Portal, by the employer. Taxpayers and PAO (Pay and Accounts Office) can also look at and generate the form.

The components of Part A of Form 16 are :  Certificate Number Name And Address of Employer Name and Address of Employee PAN, TAN of Deductor PAN of Employee Employee Reference Number  (if Provided)  Commissioner of Income Tax (TDS) Address. The deductor shall furnish the address of the Commissioner of Income-tax (TDS) having jurisdiction as regards TDS statements of the assessee. Form 16 Part B
The part B of form 16 is essentially the Annexure of Part 1. If in case you change employment(s) in one financial year it is completely your choice if you want to obtain the part b of the certificate from all the employers or only from the last employer. The components of part B of Form 16 are as follows: Taxable salary of the employee Applicable Tax Deductions and Exemptions under Section 80 C (Tax Saving Investments) and other investment schemes under sections 80 CCC, 80 CCD, 80 D, 80E, 80G The aggregate of all deductions reduced from the taxable  income Education Cess and surcharge details Total tax payable and amount of TDS deducted by the employer Gross total Income, which  will be the final amount on the basis of which taxes will be calculated Tax Payable or Refund Due
Form 16: How to Download?
The certificate enclosed within form 16 is generally issued by the employer to the employee. The form reflects the total earnings and the taxes applicable. You can download the form online website of the Income Tax Department as well. The form is available in PDF format. As mentioned above, it is the responsibility of the employers to give the form to the employee. However, due to some reason, you do not have the form you can download it from the Income Tax Department Website which will lead you to the TRACES portal Step 1: Head on over to the TRACES Portal Step 2: Select the type of entity to be a Taxpayer Step 3: Login using your credentials Step 4: Go to the Downloads Step 5: Select Form 16/ Form 16 A Step 6: Enter PAN and other relevant details and Click GO to download Form 16 v Form 16A Form 16 also known as salary TDS certificate is issued by the employer. However, in addition, to his, there is another Form, form  16A  that is applicable as a TDS on income on other than salary. The Form 16A is very similar to the form 16 with details such as PAN, TAN and the TDS deducted on incomes other than salary.
Purposes of Form 16
Income Tax Returns - IThe form is primarily used to File ITR in India.  The form contains all the details with regards to the income and hence becomes an essential document for ITR filing. Verification - Form 16 can be used to verify the TDS deductor by the employer and the actual income tax collected by the Government. TDS deductions made available in form 16 and the 16A can be cross-verified using the actuals in the 26AS Form. The amount in the forms 16 and 16 A should match up with the actual deposited account with the government furnished in the 26AS form

An individual should file I-T returns if his or her total income exceeds Rs 2.5 lakh in a financial year. The income tax slab is Rs 3 lakh for senior citizens and Rs 5 lakh for individuals above 80 years of age.
The process of paying income tax online
Using Challan 280, income tax can be paid online in the most convenient manner. The process is easy and quick, and just requires an internet banking facility. Taxpayers can also use their debit card for online income tax payment. With prompt support by qualified professionals at Alankit, taxpayers can pay their direct taxes through the online facility provided by the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL). The step-by-step procedures are mentioned below:
Step 1: Access the e-payment section on the online portal of NSDL.
Step 2: Choose the relevant Challan from among the list viz. ITNS 280, ITNS 281, ITNS 282, ITNS 283, ITNS 284 or Form 26 QB demand payment (only for TDS on sale of property) as applicable.
Step 3: Fill in personal details in Challan 280. Individuals must choose 0021 Income Tax (other than companies), following which they must provide their PAN details; select proper assessment year; select their city, PIN code & state; choose option (300) Self Assessment Tax under ‘Type of Payment’; choose payment mode viz. internet banking or debit card and then choose the bank; finally click on ‘proceed’ tab after entering the security code which appears on screen.
Step 4: Cross verify the details and confirm on the tab ”Submit to the bank”.
Step 5: Users will be redirected to their selected Bank”s internet banking login screen. After logging in, users will reach another screen wherein they have to break up the tax payable into its components, i.e. ”Basic Tax”, ”Surcharge”, ”Education Cess”, ”Others”, ”Penalty” and ”Interest”.
Step 6: After the online income tax payment is made, users can click on the option to download the challan receipt in PDF format. Also, they will receive the challan copy on their registered e-mail id. The receipt will contain the Challan Identification Number (CIN). A proof of the payment, the challan counterfoil will contain CIN, payment details and bank name through which e-payment was made. Using the CIN, taxpayers can check the status of the challan in the Challan Status Inquiry at NSDL-TIN website, after a week of making the payment.
The process after payment of income tax online
Once the income tax is paid through the online facility using Challan 280, taxpayers must show it in their ITR. If they have paid Self Assessment tax through Challan 280, they should fill in the details in Tax Paid and should ensure that their tax liability is Zero before submitting the return.

Load any HTML with Self-Closing Tags & Convert It to Excel File inside Android Apps
What’s new in this release?
Aspose development team is pleased to announce the new release of Aspose.Cells for Android via Java 18.12. Depiction of data through HTML page is very common, however this page can be opened in variety of devices including mobiles, tabs and other hand held devices which contain small screens. The size of the columns is defined in “pt” which works in many cases. However there can be case where this fixed size may not be required. For example if container panel width is 600px where this HTML page is being displayed. In this case users may get horizontal scrollbar if the generated table width is bigger. This requirement is addressed by providing scalable units like em or percent for a better presentation. Empty tags are very common while working with HTML like we can face <td></td> or simply <td/>. Earlier self-closing tags were not supported however now this support is provided. Now users can load any HTML with self-closing tags and convert it to Excel file. Named regions can have English formulae and this file can be used in environments where systems are configured to German Locale. There is need to translate these English formulae completely to German language for correct usage in Excel configured for German language. This feature is fully functional and can be used without any extra coding. Excel provides custom filters like filter rows which begins with and ends with some specific string.  Aspose.Cells provides rich features to manage shapes in the spreadsheet. Sometimes there is needed to get the connection points of a shape for aligning or placing the shapes at appropriate place. For this purpose all the connection points are required. Pivot tables are very common reports which are present in the workbooks. These reports are updated time by time and it is important to know the last time when report was updated for better decision making. Aspose.Cells has provided this feature by introducing property RefreshDate. Similarly name of the person who updated the pivot table is also provided as property RefreshedByWho.  Smart art is used for better representation of information however earlier the text in the smart art shapes was fixed. This limitation is gone now as now smart art text can be updated. For this purpose shape.setText() function is introduced which sets new text in the smart art shape. Data validation is done in variety of ways to control the input in the Excel file. Like limit can be defined for a cell within which some number can be entered, otherwise error message is raised. Issues were faced for validation of large numbers like 12345678901 etc. in the past but now this much large numbers are supported by Aspose.Cells. Aspose.Cells has introduced rendering active worksheet in a workbook to SVG. For this purpose load an Excel file into workbook object and set the active sheet index like for Sheet2, set index to 1. Then save the Workbook as SVG which will render active worksheet to SVG. Workbook can have multiple sheets which are rendered as multiple tab pages when converted to HTML using Excel. Similarly if a workbook contains single sheet, it shows one tab page when converted to HTML using Excel. This conversion was working fine for multiple sheets while using Aspose.Cells. However for single sheet workbook, there was no tab page and only HTML file was created without creating the separate folder containing CSS. Now Aspose.Cells has enhanced its library to create similar output for single sheet workbooks as compared to output created by Excel. In complex Excel files (XLSM/XSLB) there can be large amount of macros which can be very very long. Many times there is a need to load the workbooks without loading these VBA projects like just extracting the sheet names from loaded workbook. In this case we need a filter which can load VBA projects in when they are actually required. This time Aspose.Cells has introduced a filter option LoadDataFilterOptions.VBA which can be used for this purpose. Textbox is very common control which can be used in a worksheet. This is not necessary that text in the textbox is fixed. It may have tags which can be replaced with some text at runtime. It helps users to configure the controls as per the data on the sheet or from some other source. Worksheet.replace can be used for this purpose and textbox can be set with the desired text. It can convert worksheet to HTML but rendering entire sheet at once may not be required always. Users may require just a selected area of the sheet to be rendered to HTML. Worksheets contain page setup where print area can be set. A worksheet can have different types of validations including dropdown. There can be a need where user may want to detect the type of validation and take some decision based on this information. This release includes plenty of improved features and bug fixes as listed below

If you're a non US entrepreneur (with no Social Security Number) trying to process credit card payments with Stripe, receive Amazon payouts to a non-supported country, or just hold & spend USD personally without restrictions - here's how I solved a few big pain points for myself & opened a USD bank account (business + personal) as well as a US credit card. ​Context/why I did this: I'm a digital nomad, Aussie, living in Panama, with companies in Hong Kong & the US. I need to regularly make USD payments to Europe, China, the US, the Philippines, and more.  International banking is one of my biggest challenges personally, as a traveller + for my businesses. ​NOTE - I'm not in a position to answer any questions about the tax implications of doing this. Just wanted to share this info as it took me a lot of trial and error to work this stuff out.​This is a summary of my notes. The (very rough) gist of how it works in the back end is they match cross-border transactions as much as possible with a reverse transaction so no money actually has to "cross borders" - which cuts down on fees. They are a "Money Service Business" and NOT a full service bank - but the borderless account will (in most cases) give you proper bank account details for receiving money. Advantages:NO NEED to visit the USThe best for international payments – lowest feesReal local bank accounts for major currencies USD, AUD, NZD,  GBP, EURAbility to send payments in most other currenciesNo SSN requiredDisadvantages:Sometimes significant transfer limitations depending on your country of residence & country you want to send money to. Secured Connection
When connecting to your netbanking account, make sure you do so from a trusted network.
A padlock icon on the left-hand side of the netbanking URL means the connection is encrypted
Make it a habit to include ‘https’ at the beginning of each URL
Safe Browser
A good practice is to logout from a netbanking session thus preventing session hacks. And clear your cache at the end of a session removing traces of sessions from your history. You can even use browser’s incognito mode.
Strong Password
Use a combination of upper and lower-case letters, numbers and symbols to make it unique.
When providing answers to security questions setup by the bank, they don’t have to be genuine.
Keep changing the password at least once in 2 months.
Encryption
Always try and remember to switch-off your wi-fi when not in use. Do the same for Bluetooth. Avoid using unknown or public wi-fi/hotspots as information sent over an unsecured wireless network is information sent in plain sight – basically opening your internet banking website to anyone on that wireless network.
Protection Software

How To View And Read Form 26AS

At that time, everything related to taxes seemed like Greek and Latin to him. As he joined, he was asked to submit his income tax investment declaration for the financial year. Not knowing what to do, Puneet took the help of a colleague. He somehow managed to fill in and submit the form. It was only until the last quarter of the financial year, when he was asked to submit proofs of the same, did he actually make the tax-saving investments—in a Public Provident Fund (PPF) account. Only later did he learn that PPF was not the best investment avenue to save taxes. This is when he decided to learn more about personal finance to make better investment and tax saving decisions. What is Form 26AS?
While Form 16 contains all the details such as salary earned, deductions claimed, and tax deducted and deposited by the employer, Form 26AS is a statement of tax deposited towards your PAN. Thus, it is also known as a TDS (Tax Deducted at Source) statement or a Tax Credit Statement (TCS).
Form 26AS consolidates the tax deducted from all sources, be it your employer who deducts tax on salaries or TDS by your bank on interest payments on fixed deposits. If your PAN is correctly mentioned, the tax deducted will show up in the Form 26AS.
Form 26AS is a live statement which is updated as the transactions are reported for the ongoing assessment year. You can view the statement for the previous assessment years as well.
Why is it important to view Form 26AS?
The tax deducted or collected by an entity is reflected in Form 26AS of the respective PAN and this helps in identifying any discrepancy or error.
The credits available in the tax statement confirm that:
The tax deducted or collected has been deposited to the account of the government
The collector has accurately filed the TDS return giving details of the tax deducted/collected on your behalf
Bank has properly furnished the details of the tax deposited by you
This consolidated tax statement (Form 26AS) is a proof of tax deducted on your behalf and the tax directly paid by you
How to view or download Form 26AS?
You can view Form 26AS through three routes as below:
Income tax filing website - https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in
TRACES website - https://contents.tdscpc.gov.in/
Internet banking – through the website of your selected banks (View list here)
In the first two options, you need to first register and create an account. If you already use internet banking, and your bank is present on the list, use the last option as it would be the most convenient. However, we strongly suggest opting for the first option as you will need the income tax e-filing account to file your taxes later on.
We will elaborate on the first option in detail. If you have already registered on the Income Tax e-Filing website, you may skip Step 1. Before you start, keep your PAN card handy.
Step 1 – Register on the Income Tax e-Filing website
Visit - https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/ on the top right hand corner, you will get an option to ‘Register Yourself’, click on the button and proceed. Select ‘User Type’ such as Individual or HUF etc. and continue.
Enter basic details such as PAN, name and date of birth. This should match with the Income Tax department’s records.
Next you will need to fill in a registration form that will include your Password details, Personal details, Contact details, Current address, and enabling of alerts etc.
Once you submit, you will receive an activation link to the registered Email ID and an SMS along with OTP (One time Password) sent to the registered Mobile number. In order to activate the account, the user should click on the Activation link and enter the Mobile PIN. For Non-Resident Indian, Mobile PIN is exempted.
On success, the user account is activated and the database is updated.

Step 2 – Login to you Income Tax e-Filing account
To login to your account, visit
https://incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/,
on the top right hand corner, you will get an option to ‘Login Here’, click on the button and proceed.
You will come to the Login Page as below. Enter the User ID (PAN), password, date of birth and Captcha Code. Click ‘Login’ to gain access to your e-Filing account.
Step 3 – Proceed to view Form 26AS
After logging in to your account, you can view Form 26AS through a series of clicks. To proceed to view the tax credit form, under ‘My Account’ click the first option from the dropdown ‘View Form 26AS (Tax Credit)’.
You will get a redirection alert, click ‘Confirm’ to head to the TRACES (TDS – CPC) website.
On the TRACES (TDS – CPC) website accept the confirmation popup checkbox and click ‘Proceed’.
At the bottom of the page, you need to click ‘View Tax Credit (Form 26AS) to view your Form 26AS’
Step 4 - View Form 26AS in the format of your choice
Here you will get the option to select the ‘Assessment Year’ and the format in which you would like to view Form 26AS.
If you would just like to browse through the form before downloading, then select View as HTML, enter the verification code and click on ‘View/Download’. The Form 26AS for the Assessment Year selected will be displayed below.
To download the form, select ‘PDF’ in the ‘View as’ option, enter the verification code and click on ‘View/Download’. The PDF will get downloaded to your machine. To open it, enter your date of birth in the ‘DDMMYYYY’ format.
For advanced users: If you wish to download as a text option to use in Microsoft Excel at a later stage, select ‘Text’ in the ‘View as’ option, enter the verification code and click on ‘View/Download’. A ZIP file will get downloaded to your machine. To open it, enter your date of birth in the ‘DDMMYYYY’ format. To view in Excel, copy the text from the document and paste it n excel. You will then need to convert the text to columns using ‘^’ as the separator.
This ends the step-by-step process to View Form 26AS.
The process to view the tax credit form is similar even if you register directly on the TRACES website or if you come through your internet banking account.
Now that you have learnt how to View Form 26AS, we will explain how to read the form in the next section.
What does Form 26AS contain?
Form 26AS contains a wealth of information related to you, tracked simply by your PAN card. At the beginning of the document, all personal details, such as your PAN, name and address in mentioned, along with the financial years.
The form contains details of income paid, either as salary, commission or interest and the tax deducted on the same. Even if there is no tax deducted, the income details will be displayed. The income tax departments also tracks high value transactions conducted by you in shares or mutual funds etc. and the same can be seen in this form.
To provide these details, the form is divided in the below sections or parts -
Part A - Details of Tax Deducted at Source by your employer or bank
Part A1 - Details of Tax Deducted at Source for 15G / 15H (if you have submitted form 15G / 15H to your bank)
Part A2 - Details of Tax Deducted at Source on Sale of Immovable Property u/s 194IA(For Seller of Property)
Part B - - Details of Tax Collected at Source
Part C - Details of Tax Paid (other than TDS or TCS)
Part D - Details of Tax Refunds received, if any
Part E - Details of Annual Information Return (AIR) or ‘high value transactions’ in respect of shares, mutual fund etc.
Part F - Details of Tax Deducted at Source on Sale of Immovable Property u/s 194IA(For Buyer of Property)
Part G - TDS Defaults - relating to processing of statements and do not include demand raised by the respective Assessing Officers
While the list is comprehensive, the average person will have details mentioned only in Part A of the form, which includes Details of Tax Deducted at Source.
How to read Form 26AS?
Once you have downloaded the tax credit statement, the information available is pretty straight forward.
The form starts will your personal details. Do check if all your details are correct. If there is a discrepancy, get the data corrected by applying at the Tax Information Network (TIN) website—
https://www.tin-nsdl.com/—
for changes or correction in PAN Data. This request can be made either online or through the existing network of
TIN-Facilitation Centres.
Your Form 16/16A should match the details mentioned in Part A of Form 26AS. In the downloaded form, you will can view the details of transactions under a specified deductor. The columns highlight details such as date of transaction, which is the date you received your salary or interest amount.
The salary, commission or interest amount is represented by ‘Amount Paid/Credited’. This is followed by the details of tax deducted and deposited. You can crosscheck the transaction details with that mentioned on your Form 16. Both should match.

You can view Form 26AS multiple times in a year. But before filing your tax returns, you might want to check the amount of total tax already paid by you through different ways in the given year and then you can pay the balance tax. In case you find that you have paid additional tax in a year, then you can use this information when filing taxes and request for a tax refund.

One of many Tableau administrator responsibilities is to be familiar with the server configuration, managing users, automated server job process management, knowing Tableau metadata and being familiar with migration and scheduling. To stay updated and keep everything under control, good Tableau documentation can come in handy. Such documentation can be created using ApexSQL Doc, a tool for creating SQL Server, BI, SharePoint as well as Tableau site documentation, which will be covered in this article.
This article will show how easy it is to create Tableau site documentation and explain how to setup automated Tableau documentation using ApexSQL Doc.
Documenting Tableau Sites using ApexSQL Doc
Let’s start with a new project in ApexSQL Doc. Select the Tableau server tab in the left window pane and then select the Add button. The same result can be achieved by clicking the Add Tableau site in the Home ribbon menu.
As seen on the picture above, a new dialog box appears, prompting for Tableau edition, server URL and login credentials. ApexSQL Doc supports both Tableau Server and Tableau Online editions, and they can be selected in the drop-down list in the dialog box.
Connecting to Tableau Server
To connect to Tableau Server, the first information needed is the Tableau server URL. This is the same URL that is used to connect to Tableau Server from a web browser or Tableau Desktop. Server IP address can also be used in the URL field as a valid connection parameter.
If ApexSQL Doc is installed locally on the Tableau Server machine, “localhost” can be used instead of an IP address or a web URL.
Quick tip:
If no HTTP port is specified in the Server URL, ApexSQL Doc will try to connect using the default Tableau Server HTTP port: 80. This information is provided via tooltip in the Add Tableau server dialog.
If Tableau server uses any other port than the default, the correct format for the URL is e.g.: “localhost:8000”, specifying the port number besides “localhost”. HTTP port configuration can be found in the General tab in Tableau Server Configuration window under Gateway.
To connect to Tableau server remotely, enter the server machine IP address and the port that the Tableau server is using. The correct URL format is e.g.: “192.168.1.3:8000”.
In this example, the server is in the local network, but depending on the network configuration, it is possible to connect to Tableau server externally. In that case, use the external IP address of the server machine as Server URL if no real server URL is already provided.
Connecting to Tableau Online
To connect to Tableau online, select Tableau Online from the Edition drop down list. The server URL and the site name required to connect ApexSQL Doc to Tableau Online can be found in the web browser.
In this example, the server URL is “dub01.tableau.com” and the site name is “victortestsite”. The username and password must be a site administrator account, same that is used for regular login to Tableau Online from a browser.
Selecting Tableau sites
When connected successfully, the server name will appear in the left grid in the main window, and the available sites will appear in the grid on the right. Selecting Tableau sites to document can be done by marking the checkboxes in front of the site name.
As seen on the picture above, it is possible to select multiple Tableau sites from the same or different connections. In this example, Tableau sites are selected from a local server, a remote server and from Tableau online. The number of selected sites can be seen in the status bar.
Setting up site details for Tableau documentation
Once the Tableau sites are selected, go to the Site details tab where the Tableau Site documentation options can be found.
Quick tip:
To access the Site details tab in ApexSQL Doc, at least one Tableau site must be selected.
As seen on the picture above, there are five main Site sections that can be included in the documentation:
Projects – contains a list of all available projects on the Site with description, data source and workbook count. Additionally, Data sources and Workbooks sub options can be included from this section.
Selecting the Data source option will include Table and Column reports.
The Workbooks option includes basic information about a project workbook such as: View count, size (in MB), owner name, project name, creation and update dates. As part of the workbook information, Views can be added optionally. Each View is documented with basic information and a rendered picture of the View diagram and chart.
Users – Includes a list of Site users, roles, groups and login information.
Groups – list of user groups, members, permissions, project permissions, and data source permissions for each user group
Schedules – list of scheduled tasks on the Tableau Site and information about each task such as: state, task type, priority, frequency, creation, update and next run date and time.
Subscriptions – listing users email subscriptions for projects, views and workbooks and update information.
If not specified, ApexSQL Doc generates Tableau Site documentation including all Site details by default.
When the documentation details are set, go to the File format tab and chose one of the four available file formats: CHM, HTML, Word or PDF output formats.
To start the documentation process, select the Generate button in the Home ribbon menu, and set the documentation output folder location.
Depending on the output format and documentation style, the generated documentation will look similar to the ones shown on the following screenshots:
Setting up automated documentation
ApexSQL Doc provides a way to automate the documentation process through a command line interface e.g. CLI.
Automated documentation using a project file
The easiest way to setup an automated documentation script is to set the documentation in GUI, save it as a project file and run the project file using PowerShell.
Using the setup from the previous examples, let’s set a new default documentation output location by clicking the Options button in the Home ribbon menu, and then select the Output tab and in the “Default output folder” enter the location for the documentation output.
This way, the output location will be saved in the project file. If the output location isn’t specified, ApexSQL Doc will use its default output folder: “C:\Users\user_name\Documents\ApexSQL\ApexSQLDoc”.
Save the project file by clicking the Save button in the Home ribbon menu.
To execute the documentation process in PowerShell, use the following switch combination:
&’C:\Program Files\ApexSQL\ApexSQL Doc\ApexSQLDoc.com’ /pr: ‘E:\Desktop\Example project.axdp’ /v /f $LASTEXITCODE
&’C:\Program Files\ApexSQL\ApexSQL Doc\ApexSQLDoc.com’– defines the path to ApexSQLDoc.com (this is the console application executable for ApexSQL Doc) which is necessary to recognize the CLI switches.
Using the /pr: switch, specify the project file for the documentation.
/v and /f are optional switches: /verbose (or shortly /v) enables documentation output details, and /force (or shortly /f) is a switch that overwrites previous documentation files with the same file name.
The $LASTEXITCODE command is used to see the return code e.g. 0 for success in ApexSQL Doc.
When the documentation process is done, the results will look similar to the following:
Creating the table of contents… Creating the index file Creating a documentation file… Compiling in progress Compiling an HTML help project The documentation has been written in D:\documentations\Tableau documentation.chm The operation has finished successfully 0

The other way to set up a documentation process involves being familiar with Tableau switches.
Select Save as batch from the Main ribbon menu to open the Save project as batch file window.
In the example batch script in the picture above, there are two Tableau Server connection switches /tts, one Tableau Online connection switch /tos and Tableau site details switch /tsd
For Tableau server connection switches, connection parameters must be provided as arguments. In the example on the above picture:
/tss:”[localhost:8000].[ApexSQL Test site].[Test site 2].[Victortestsite][:p3tar[.012345]]”
The switch format for Tableau server connection is:
/tss:”[Server URL:port].[Site 1].[Site 2].[Site 3][:user name[.password]]”
Notice that Sites are attached to the server URL with a dot “.”
After listing all the Sites to be included in the documentation, add the administrator user name and password. By specifying multiple Tableau Server switches, it is possible to document Tableau Sites from multiple servers in a single documentation.
The format for Tableau Online switch is very similar to Tableau server switch. From the example:
/tos:”[dub.onlie.tableau.com].[victortestsite][:[email protected][.012345678a]]”
The switch format is:
/tos:”[Tableau Online server URL].[Site name][:login email[.password]]”
It is also possible to add multiple Tableau Online Sites to the documentation by adding additional /tos switches.
As mentioned before, when a Tableau Site is selected, all site details are selected for documentation by default. The same logic is applied with switches. The role of /tsd switch is to specify the Site details to include in the documentation if not all Site details are selected.
/tsd:tp tds tdst tw twv tu tg tsb
In the example, the selected Site details are: projects, data sources, tables, workbooks, views, users, groups and subscriptions. Note that the argument switches are separated with an empty character.
The rest of the switches in the script are standard documentation output switches:
/ot – specifies the file format /od – specifies the output directory /on – specifies the output file name

The created batch script in the Save project as batch file window can be saved as batch or PowerShell script and scheduled for an unattended documentation process.
