3/04/2019 - 9/2/2019: QuixolMC Changelog #27
Happy monday everyone!
It’s september now, and you know what that means? It’s officially been 6 months since our last changelog post... I don’t even know how it got to be that long, but that’s a crime.
The past 6 months have been kind of off and on for us at QuixolMC. We’ve introduced new build projects, had parties, reached some cool milestones (1337 unique players! woahhhhhhhhhhhhhh), said goodbye to some staff members, updated our rules... A lot’s been going on, but progress on server stuff has been a bit slow.
Hopefully, life has been treating you all well. We’ve been doing alright over here, just taking longer than we’d hope to get our big plans into motion. As you all know, minecraft 1.14 has been out for a while now, but we haven’t updated yet. So, what’s been going on?
Well, we don’t have any news about plans quite yet, but rest assured it’s on our minds. For now, let’s jump into all of the changes that have taken place on QuixolMC over the past half a year.

List of known bugs/issues:
! New players can sometimes get stuck in the beginning room of the tutorial ! Standing still on top of a boat in water will deplete your hunger very quickly for some reason(???) ! The “mobs” section of the statistics counts how many times you’ve been killed by another player for some reason. It will not show how many times you have killed other players, however ! Peculiar bug with items in cursor slot disappearing in the inventory? Has only been reported once; unable to reproduce ! mcMMO: When you are killed by a mob you recently hurt, the death message just says you were killed by [a bunch of hearts] ! mcMMO: You don’t get alchemy exp for making slow falling potions ! mcMMO: mcMMO’s messages, either party messages or about abilities, sometimes send at incorrect times, or even send to incorrect players ! mcMMO: Using /mcrank seems to break for certain players sometimes. After a name change perhaps? Unable to reproduce ! mcMMO: Some players have reported their mcMMO levels being reset/lowered? Has only been reported once; unable to reproduce ! Factions: Certain faction permissions are buggy or not intuitive ! PerWorldInventory: Player inventories saved in 1.11 - 1.12 (in the world Protos) may have shulker box data corrupted. undyed shulker boxes turn into purple shulker boxes, and any items inside shulker boxes may lose all of their NBT data. ! Quickshop: When making a quickshop into a double chest, then breaking it to make two single chests, it still thinks the shop is there, regardless of whether its told to be deleted with commands or manually broken in survival. ! Viaversion: 1.14.4 client may experience “ghost blocks” while mining very quickly, or, more frequently, after explosions occur. This is actually a vanilla bug, but it won’t occur if you’re on the server with a 1.13.2 client. ! Viaversion: 1.14.4 client may crash while typing book. Technically a vanilla bug, but exacerbated by viaversion. See here. ! Viaversion: 1.14.4 client will display all statistics in the “items” and “mobs” sections incorrectly/jumbled. It is an issue on the client-end, the server still tracks player statistics properly ! Viaversion: Bug with infinitely eating potatos/carrots when attempting to replant them
Things to come:
• Update to QuixolMC 1.14.4! • An exciting new build project...! • Releasing more custom advancements • Other updates to QuixolMC’s custom datapack • Fixing more bugs? • Big updates to qChat, other custom scripts
last changelog post (#26)
about changelogs
-----
Whew! For six months, you would think there would have been more changes huh? As we’ve said, it’s been a bit slow-going as far as changes and updates to the server go. Rest assured, we are still moving forward with projects, it’s just been slow due to being as short-staffed as we are currently. You can expect to possibly see some new staff members coming on soon!
Anyhow, to expand upon some of the stuff discussed in this changelog, you may have noticed a great number of bug fixes to factions. Many of these may seem like quite alarming or dangerous exploits, and you’d be right.
All of the faction bugs mentioned for the July 19th changes existed and were known by Quixol staff for a long time; some of them were particularly nasty. We never mentioned them in these changelogs for fear of them being abused.
Now that they are fixed, we don’t have as much reason to worry. Still, we apologize for allowing these to exist on the server for so long. Some of them were out of our control, while others were due to us having factions improperly configured. This shouldn’t happen again. If you notice major bugs or exploits like this, please inform the staff, we’ll do what we can to fix them.
With all that said now, we ask that any faction owners please review your faction permissions with the command /f perms. This will bring up an interactive chest menu which allows you to set permissions for your own faction, both for faction members and for what other players can do on your claimed territory even if they aren’t in your faction.
It’s most crucial that you tweak the default permissions for any non-member players, such as neutral, truce, ally, and enemy. By default, factions will treat the “container” permission as “allow” for all of these relations. For some reason, factions treats modifying armor stands and item frames as a “container” interaction; so if you don’t want people messing with your item frames or armor stands (or possibly other container blocks), you should make sure this permission is set to “deny”. If you have more questions about the faction permissions, feel free to ask, we’ll try to help out if we can.
While we’re on the topic of show-stopping bugs getting fixed, did we mention that the bug of mobs dying on chunk boundaries was finally fixed after nearly half a year? This issue was discovered & documented by admins Vivian and Skyler, and it’s thanks to our thorough testing & bug reports that the issue was ever resolved in the server software itself. If you play on another server that uses Paper, just know that we played a small part in making it less buggy! Oh, we also reported the issue of zombie villagers despawning in the conversion process & got that fixed too. Yay, Quixol admins!
Other than that... Is there anything we forgot about? Huh? Pillage & Village update? Oh yeah, that happened. Still no news for you yet, sorry. You can connect to the server with 1.14.4, though. The server itself is still on 1.13.2, though. Check out this post we made about it for more details.
Anyhow, that should be everything now. Thanks for reading, and hopefully we’ll see you again in 1.14??? - Quixol Staff

Minecraft is a 3D sandbox game that has no specific goals to accomplish, allowing players a large amount of freedom in choosing how to play the game.[18] However, there is an achievement system.[19] Gameplay is in the first-person perspective by default, but players have the option for third-person perspective.[20] The game world is composed of rough 3D objects—mainly cubes and fluids, and commonly called "blocks"—representing various materials, such as dirt, stone, ores, tree trunks, water, and lava. The core gameplay revolves around picking up and placing these objects. These blocks are arranged in a 3D grid, while players can move freely around the world. Players can "mine" blocks and then place them elsewhere, enabling them to build things.[21] The game world is virtually infinite and procedurally generated as players explore it, using a map seed that is obtained from the system clock at the time of world creation (or manually specified by the player).[22][23][24] There are limits on vertical movement, but Minecraft allows an infinitely large game world to be generated on the horizontal plane. Due to technical problems when extremely distant locations are reached, however, there is a barrier preventing players from traversing to locations beyond 30,000,000 blocks.[nb 1] The game achieves this by splitting the world data into smaller sections called "chunks" that are only created or loaded when players are nearby.[22] The world is divided into biomes ranging from deserts to jungles to snowfields;[25][26] the terrain includes plains, mountains, forests, caves, and various lava/water bodies.[24] The in-game time system follows a day and night cycle, and one full cycle lasts 20 real-time minutes. A few of the monsters in Minecraft, displayed from left to right: the zombie, spider, enderman, creeper, and skeleton. Players encounter various non-player characters known as mobs, such as animals, villagers, and hostile creatures.[27] Passive mobs can be hunted for food and crafting materials, such as cows, pigs, and chickens. They spawn in the daytime, while hostile mobs spawn during nighttime or in dark places such as caves—including large spiders, skeletons, and zombies.[24] Some hostile mobs such as zombies, skeletons and drowned (underwater versions of zombies), burn under the sun if they have no headgear.[28] Other creatures unique to Minecraft include the creeper (an exploding creature that sneaks up on the player) and the enderman (a creature with the ability to teleport, pick up, and place blocks).[29] There are also variants of mobs that spawn in different conditions, for example zombies have husk variants that spawn in deserts.[30] Many commentators have described the game's physics system as unrealistic.[31] Liquids continuously flow for a limited horizontal distance from source blocks, which can be removed by placing a solid block in its place or by scooping it into a bucket. Complex systems can be built using primitive mechanical devices, electrical circuits, and logic gates built with an in-game material known as redstone.[32] Minecraft has two alternative dimensions besides the overworld (the main world): the Nether and the End.[29] The Nether is a hell-like dimension accessed via player-built portals; it contains many unique resources and can be used to travel great distances in the overworld.[33] The player can build an optional boss mob called the Wither out of materials found in the Nether.[34] The End is a barren land consisting of many islands. A boss dragon called the Ender Dragon dwells on the main island.[35] Killing the dragon cues the game's ending credits and a poem written by Irish novelist Julian Gough.[36] Players are then allowed to teleport back to their original spawn point in the overworld and continue the game indefinitely.[37] The game consists of five game modes: survival, creative, adventure, hardcore, and spectator. It also has a changeable difficulty system of four levels. For example, the peaceful difficulty prevents hostile creatures from spawning, and when playing on the hard difficulty players can starve to death if their hunger bar is depleted.[38][39] Survival mode The Minecraft crafting screen, showing the crafting pattern of a stone axe In survival mode, players have to gather natural resources such as wood and stone found in the environment in order to craft certain blocks and items.[24] Depending on the difficulty, monsters spawn in darker areas outside a certain radius of the character, requiring players to build a shelter at night.[24] The mode also has a health bar which is depleted by attacks from monsters, falls, drowning, falling into lava, suffocation, starvation, and other events. Players also have a hunger bar, which must be periodically refilled by eating food in-game, except in peaceful difficulty. If the hunger bar is depleted, automatic healing will stop and eventually health will deplete.[39] Health replenishes when players have a nearly full hunger bar or continuously on peaceful difficulty. Players can craft a wide variety of items in Minecraft.[40] Players can craft armor, which can help mitigate damage from attacks, while weapons such as swords can be crafted to kill enemies and other animals more easily. Players acquire resources to craft tools, such as axes, shovels, or pickaxes, used to chop down trees, dig soil, and mine ores, respectively; e.g. tools made of iron perform their tasks more quickly than tools made of stone or wood and can be used more heavily before they break. Players can construct furnaces which can smelt food, process ores and materials, among others.[41] Players may also trade goods with villager NPCs through a bartering system involving trading emeralds for different goods, and vice versa.[42][27] The game has an inventory system, and players can carry a limited number of items. Upon dying, items in the players' inventories are dropped, and players re-spawn at their spawn point, which is set by default where players begin the game, and can be reset if players sleep in a bed.[43] Dropped items can be recovered if players can reach them before they despawn, which takes 5 minutes. Players may acquire experience points by killing mobs and other players, mining, smelting ores, breeding animals, and cooking food. Experience can then be spent on enchanting tools, armor and weapons.[38] Enchanted items are generally more powerful, last longer, or have other special effects.[38] Hardcore mode is a survival mode variant that is locked to the hardest setting and has permadeath, which permanently deletes the world if the player dies.[44] If a player dies on a multiplayer server set to hardcore, they are put into spectator mode.[45] Creative mode An example of a creation constructed in Minecraft In creative mode, players have access to all resources and items in the game through the inventory menu, and can place or remove them instantly.[46] Players can toggle the ability to fly freely around the game world at will, and their characters do not take any damage and are not affected by hunger.[47][48] The game mode helps players focus on building and creating large projects.[46] Adventure mode Adventure mode was added to Minecraft in version 1.3; it was designed specifically so that players could experience user-crafted custom maps and adventures.[49][50][51] Gameplay is similar to survival mode but introduces various player restrictions, which can be applied to the game world by the creator of the map. This forces players to obtain the required items and experience adventures in the way that the map maker intended.[51] Another addition designed for custom maps is the command block; this block allows map makers to expand interactions with players through scripted server commands.[52] Spectator mode Spectator mode allows players to fly around through blocks and watch gameplay without directly interacting. In this mode, instead of having an inventory, players have the ability to teleport to other players. It is also possible to view from the perspective of another player or creature.[53] This game mode can only be accessed within the Java or PC edition. Multiplayer Multiplayer in Minecraft is available through direct game-to-game multiplayer, LAN play, local split screen, and servers (player-hosted and business-hosted). It enables multiple players to interact and communicate with each other on a single world.[54] Players can run their own servers, use a hosting provider, or connect directly to another player's game via Xbox Live. Single-player worlds have local area network support, allowing players to join a world on locally interconnected computers without a server setup.[55] Minecraft multiplayer servers are guided by server operators (op for short), who have access to server commands such as setting the time of day and teleporting players. Operators can also set up restrictions concerning which usernames or IP addresses are allowed or disallowed to enter the server.[54] Multiplayer servers have a wide range of activities, with some servers having their own unique rules and customs. One of the largest and most popular servers is Hypixel, which is visited by over 14 million players.[56][57] Player versus player combat (PvP) can be enabled to allow fighting between players.[58] Many servers have custom plugins that allow actions that are not normally possible. In 2013, Mojang announced Minecraft Realms, a server hosting service intended to enable players to run server multiplayer games easily and safely without having to set up their own.[59] Unlike a standard server, only invited players can join Realms servers, and these servers do not use IP addresses. Minecraft: Java Edition Realms server owners can invite up to twenty people to play on their server, with up to ten players online at a time. Minecraft Realms server owners can invite up to 3000 people to play on their server, with up to ten players online at one time.[60] The Minecraft: Java Edition Realms servers do not support user-made plugins, but players can play custom Minecraft maps.[61] Minecraft Realms servers support user-made add-ons, resource packs, behavior packs, and custom Minecraft maps.[60] At Electronic Entertainment Expo 2016, it was announced that Realms would enable Minecraft to support cross-platform play between Windows 10, iOS, and Android platforms starting in June 2016,[62] with Xbox One and Nintendo Switch support to come later in 2017,[63] and support for virtual reality devices. On 31 July 2017, Mojang released the beta version of the update allowing cross-platform play.[64] Nintendo Switch support for Realms was released in July 2018.[65]

No more lag! The server is hosted on a fast internet connection with Shockbyte servers. This means nearly 24/7 uptime. The server is located in Northern USA/eastern Canada. This means ping times of less than 60ms for most of the USA, Canada, Greenland, Iceland, UK, and Ireland. The rest of the EU has below 80ms ping times. If you're doubtful, you can check out your ping based on your location here
No lengthy whitelist interview and wait times! Visit the server Discord at discord.gg/HqanKZK to review server guidelines, the current mod list! Simply paste the discord address into the "add server" tab, and you should have access. Admins respond fast. All players are welcome! You just need the server modpack.
No server resets! When there are new minecraft updates, the server owner simply trims the map edges (the places where nobody has built), which allows new content to spawn, and your builds and items stay intact!
We're a community who appreciates creative minds. You can see some examples of what is built on the server here. On the server, you can find fan-made works from Chrono Trigger, to ancient wonders such as the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
This is a modded PvE/PvP minecraft server running on 1.12.2. Notable mods include: FTB Utilities, Galacticraft, Minecolonies, Twilight Forest, The Betweenlands, Thaumcraft, Ice and Fire, Immersive engineering, Dimensional Doors, ultimate car mod, chisel, and many more. Download the modpack, and you can join today!
Server rules are listed on the Discord, and below:
Be respectful. Follow the golden rule. This includes using respectful language. Chat spamming, racist, and sexist language are considered disrespectful. The default server language is English.
Do not deface player builds, or take what is not yours. No griefing. Ask permission before you build right next to another player. If you are unsure about something, ask in chat. If you want a chest or item container to be open to the community, make sure you label it as such. In general, builds should be open for everyone to access and appreciate. If you don’t want anyone to enter your home, or area, make sure you label it, and let people know.
Play fair. Use only approved server mods. If you find a bug, or exploit, report it to the admins. If you find a loose command block somewhere, let admins know. Do not use command blocks unless given permission from admins. Hacking is a bannable offense.
Do not build near the spawn.
If a player asks you not to attack, respect their wishes. While PvP is enabled on the server, there are also players who prefer PvE. We think both modes can be fun. Accidents will probably happen occasionally, but repeat offenses will be subject to admin disciplinary action. Admins are also expected to play fair if they are in survival mode and participating in PvP.
Do not advertise other servers, or solicit outside services. It is OK to run your own in-game shop, or bank, however. Admins are not responsible for what happens with those shops or banks.
If there is a conflict, you can present the issue on the discord under “admin requests”. Admins will look at your issue, and help to resolve it. This includes conflicts between players (such as land ownership). You may also report other players in this same manner.
Do not excessively label or abuse the Dynmap. Players are permitted to put labels on the dynmap, but they should limit labels to their home, or special locations. Admins can remove labels if they feel they are inappropriate.
Follow all Minecraft/Mojang TOS.
Players who do not follow these guidelines are subject to a ban. Bans may be appealed. Admins are not permitted to ban a player without first warning them and explaining what they did wrong (except in the case of breaking guideline 3, which can result in an instant ban). Admins determine how many warnings they give before a ban is issued. Admins may determine other behaviors not explicitly listed on these guidelines are inappropriate, and are subject to discipline. In the case where a player feels they have been unjustly treated by an admin, they may make an ultimate appeal to Timeherald (the server operator) on the Discord channel.

Open Letter to Amazon on WHY I’m Leaving Prime
Dear Amazon,
As you’re most likely aware, you sent an e-mail noting that you’re removing site-wide ad-free viewing from Twitch / Amazon Prime.  This, sadly is the ONLY REASON why I actually signed up for Prime in the first place!  You’re saying there’s other things that make Twitch (& Amazon) Prime valuable...  but I’m not seeing those values, so I’m going to break them down.
Free Games -- While it’s nice to get some free stuff, UNFORTUNATELY, it’s stuff that I already have on Steam... so it becomes a redundancy in my library of platforms.  Just like GoG’s Connect service, where they give me a copy of a game on their platform because I already have it on Steam.  GoG does this because they believe I shouldn’t have to pay more than once for a game & helps provides them a gateway into become a preferred game distribution platform.  Right now, the only game that I would possibly use the Twitch app to play would be Minecraft with a specific mod pack... considering that you canceled Breakaway (a game I tried to enjoy during the limited windows you provided & one that I might have kept playing).
Free Game Loot -- While it’s nice to get some loot boxes & free stuff for some games I own, it’s not a “must have” for me to subscribe to Prime.  For the PuBg stuff, I only paid like $5 in the Steam marketplace for the first set of Twitch Prime exclusive stuff.  If they weren’t locked down, I would be tempted to buy the other sets on the marketplace.
Free Channel Subscription -- Another “Nice to have” deal as I can support a channel without extra cost.  HOWEVER, I’m already paying the subscription fees to the channels I watch most of the time & want to support (even supporting them via Patreon)... so this free sub is more of a throwaway deal, going to channels I’m watching as frequently (those typically affiliates instead of full partners).  Since I’m discontinuing Prime, I might reinvest those funds into a few of them... or just throw out some gift subs.
Custom chat color & badge -- More cosmetic stuff I don’t really care about.
60 Day VOD’s -- Would be a “nice of have” if I was broadcasting (I’ve stopped streaming due to a chaotic work schedule, making it nearly impossible to have a consistent stream time).  Besides, I can just record locally & post to YouTube later.
Free 2-day shipping on orders -- Would be useful if I was shopping more on Amazon.  If any member of staff bothers to check my order history, you can see how little I buy.  Since Walmart* offers free 2-day shipping & in-store pick-up on stuff, I’m more inclined to use them on everyday stuff.
Streaming Video -- I’m already paying for Netflix, Hulu & YouTube Premium**.. so there’s a lot of overlap here & there’s really no exclusives I want to watch... pretty much killing that value.
Streaming Music -- I’m already paying for Google Music All-Access** in addition to having a good chunk of my personal library already on their servers (for my account). Already having it on my phone & tablet (as part of Google services) already didn’t hurt either.
FULL DISCLOSURE NOTES:
Walmart is my current employer... so I have a personal interest in utilize & promotion their services, in addition to my Associate’s Discount that automatically applied.
Google Music All-Access, which includes YouTube Premium (formerly Red), was set up with a family account (that I established & maintain).  My father has elected to pay for this subscription with this card directly instead of reimbursing me.
It was only the ad-free viewing on Twitch that prodded me to actually jump into Prime as that was getting annoying on a few streams, especially as the ad rolls were generally poorly timed (happening in the middle of the action, instead of a planned break) & disruptive of the stream.  Running ads during a schedule break of a broadcaster isn’t as jarring.  This was also major thing why I originally subscribed to YouTube Red (now YouTube Prime) as ads were annoying, so I paid to remove them.  Once my father got online, I upgraded from a personal to a family subscription (which was only $5 more) so he could enjoy the benefits... which moved him to cover the subscription fee for the family (as he utilizes it the most).
As a result, I am discontinuing my Prime subscription as there’s no longer anything of reasonable value.  I might return with a Twitch Turbo subscription (as you have kept the ad-free viewing with it), but I’ll have to wander off to some unknown channels (for me) & see how bad the ad rolls are before I actually pay for it... or leave the app & go with the browser (that I already have uBlock & NoScript installed).  I’m not going to discontinue my individual channel subscriptions (as I want to support them & use their emotes), but the the discontinuation with ad-free viewing will likely cut back on my random viewing ventures.
I am aware that many streamers & partners are disabling ad rolls on their channels as personal choice as well as many others discontinuing their Prime subscriptions in the process.  This backlash is mostly because it makes you (Amazon) seem greedy by rolling back benefits while not really benefiting the streamers on Twitch.  I hope this causes enough of a fiscal downturn (where the cost of all the lost prime subs outweighs the ad revenue you’re trying to push) to reconsider this change.  This isn’t the first time where a subscription fee or changes to benefits have caused me to reconsider stuff & part ways with other services as I didn’t agree with the new stuff.  Until you choose to value your userbase more than raw profits, don’t expect those departing to return.

Updates to Quixol’s rules
Hello, quick update for you all today.
The staff have recently implemented a few new rules for Quixol, as well as tweaked some other pre-existing rules for more clarity. These rule changes go into effect immediately as of this post.
Please read the updated rules page here.
If you’d like to see an archive of the previous rules, see here.
The brand new rules are: Minecraft Server rule IX as well as Discord Server rule VI. We’ve also modified Global rule XI, Minecraft Server rule VIII, and minecraft rule X.
If you’d like an explanation for the rules changes, we’ve taken the liberty of explaining our reasoning below.
Global rule XI was changed to give a bit more clarity about how we handle infractions of this rule, as well as to provide some transparency of our general process of moderating what happens on peoples’ “linked accounts”. That is to say, we don’t want to moderate what you post on your own social media just because you have it linked in your profile. Just make sure that nothing overtly sexual or graphic shows up upon first clicking through to it, and you should probably be ok, although we still maintain the right to give out punishments in the case that we find something extreme on a linked account.
Minecraft Server rule VIII was changed to say “Do not create auto-farms that rely on players interacting while AFK”. This is a big change to this rule, but this change reflects how we generally handle cases of automatic farms/redstone machines in most cases anyways. “auto-mcmmo farms” was a really vague and confusing thing to define, so we changed it to be based on how the player interacts with the farm to operate it. Hopefully this is more clear-cut than before, and if you have any questions about your machine, please ask the staff about it.
Minecraft Server rule IX is a new one. It states, “Build at least 100 blocks away from the nearest player base”. This one should be fairly simple to understand, but if you need more clarification on what’s ok, visit the rules page for more details, or just ask a staff member about your case.
Minecraft Server rule X is largely unchanged, except for the following clause: “Permanent player bases should be built a distance of at least 4 chunks (64 blocks) away from the edge of a protected safe zone, such as around the directional warps.” This should also be easy enough to understand, hopefully.
For both Minecraft Server rules IX and X, we do not expect any of you to actually count out the amount of blocks between your build and someone else’s. That would be kind of a ridiculous expectation from us. Just inspect the area near where you are building before you make a permanent structure to make sure there’s no other bases nearby or a safezone super closeby, and you should be ok.
If you want to build something closer within that disallowed range, either ask a staff member in the case of a safezone, or ask the owner of the other build if you know who it is. If you don’t, ask a staff member, or someone who has access to /co i.
Finally, we have Discord Server rule VI: “Be respectful when using discord’s Go Live feature.” This should be self-explanatory. Discord’s new Go Live feature is essentially a way of livestreaming your game to a voice channel within discord. At the moment we allow for verified discord members to make use of it, but if this gets abused we may remove it if necessary.
That should cover all of the rule changes for now. If you have any questions or feedback about our rules, either send us an ask or contact the staff via our discord!

6/5/2017 - 10/3/2017: QuixolMC Changelog #19
Autumn is here, everyone! Looks like it’s time for another long-due changelog post. Quixol has been moving along at its own pace, and we hope you've all been holding up alright. To those of you that are in school again, we wish you good luck in your studies- plenty of the staff is taking classes again, now, and we'd just like to remind you that it's all worth it. The world is a scary place right now, but we hope you folks find solace in Quixol. As for QuixolMC itself, the summer was a time of much leisure- only a few smaller changes here or there to speak of, but a lot of work was happening behind the scenes. All that culminated last weekend with the update to 1.12.2 Public Beta, and the release of the brand-new party area, the Grove. There's a fair amount to get into, and it's possible we missed a few things, so we hope you understand. Also: we normally post these changelogs on the first monday of the month, but this time around we missed our window yesterday, so now it's going up on a tuesday. Sorry about that! With that said, here's a list of all the changes to the server since June:

Things to come:

last changelog post (#18)
about changelogs
That's quite a lot! Some of this stuff is rather minor, while others change the whole game up quite a bit. There's probably a few changes that got lost in the haste to update the server, and if there's anything you notice that's different from before, feel free to ask us about it. Some important information about this update to minecraft: MAKE SURE YOUR RESOURCE PACKS ARE UPDATED(!!!). If you are using an outdated resource pack in 1.12+, the new recipe book icon will be completely invisible to you, and many players end up not realizing it's there at all due to this.
On the topic of the recipe book, we'd also like to mention that, yes, QuixolMC's custom crafting recipes still work- HOWEVER, they are not accessible from the recipe book, you must still put them in the crafting bench manually. Sadly, this seems to be a minecraft limitation. The /recipe command is also disabled, due to a bug. There's not a lot we can do about this, so for the time being feel free to keep an eye on this page that lists the server's custom crafting recipes. If we ever add any more, we'll try to update this page (if we remember). 2017 has been a wild ride, and all we can really offer to you is a break from it all... we sincerely hope you guys have been safe out there. Thanks for reading, <3 Quixol Staff

Butterfrog Empire - Zeal [SMP] [PvP] [PvE] [Modded] {Dynmap} {discord} {North America} {EU} {no resets}
Server IP: 142.4.200.20:25580
Discord and Dynmap found at: discord.gg/HqanKZK
NO whitelist! All you need to do is download the modpack at https://minecraft.curseforge.com/projects/butterfrog/files to join! You can also search "butterfrog" in the Twitch app.
Some of the fun things you can do with the mods on this server:
Tame and ride dragons Become a wizard Morph into mobs Control a colony, and wage wars Fly to space, planets, and build a station Build, and drive a car Travel to alternate dimensions Search for buried treasure Play musical instruments Claim some land, and build in a town Build a zoo, and tame animals Make and use grappling hooks
No more overpowered people playing survival! The player experience is designed to keep mostly vanilla building functionality, with lots of modded exploration options. Mods are not designed to make players overpowered. You need to face difficult challenges to improve your abilities.
No more paying to win! This server does not have pay to win mechanics. Every new player starts with the ability to claim a few chunks of land. No annoying votifier, and no special paid items.

We want everyone to enjoy their time on SwanCraft. We try to promote a friendly environment free from toxic energies. Players are encouraged to voice any suggestions or concerns they may have for the community.
Events
More than one event will be held monthly. Ideally, we like to hold events at different times of day to try to cover all of the time zones. Although sometimes that isn't possible, we certainly do try our best! Events Typically Include: * Falling Crate Keys * Treasure Hunts * Movie Nights * Build Contests * Mob Arena * PVP Arena * Mob Houses
Player Shops
+Check out our one of a kind Player Market located on floating islands!! We use in-game items as currency. No economy plugins here!
Rules
Don't be a Jerk Rule
Be respectful to your fellow players and staff members. Do not instigate fights. No scamming. Respect the decisions and requests of staff. We strive to be a friendly community, incessant trolls and troublemakers will be dealt with accordingly.
Chat Rules
Harassment, racism, and sexism will not be tolerated. Do not spam. No excessive swearing. (To be defined on a case by case basis by staff.) English only in main chat.
No Griefing or Raiding
Griefing is defined as altering someone elses build without permission or killing their mobs without permission. Raiding is defined as stealing from chests that are not yours. Do not claim someone else's base. "Abandoned" buildings are off-limits unless you have permission to remove it from the owner or an admin. Do not build within 150 blocks of another player without permission.
No Hacking or Cheating
Any modification that gives you an unfair advantage is not allowed. (Optifine is an exception.)
AFKing & Entities
Please keep your entity count below 60 per chunk. This includes mobs, item frames, and armor stands. AFKing is allowed, so long as you are not causing lag. If you are unsure, please ask an admin before building an AFK farm.
Advertising
Do not advertise the IP or name of another server on our services.
PvP Guidelines
PvP is on, but don't be a jerk about it. No tp killing. No spam killing. If someone doesn't want to PvP, then don't fight them.

SwanCraft [SMP]{1.12}{Survival}{Community Focus}{Grief Prevention}{Events}
Basic Server Info
Name: SwanCraft
IP: play.swancraftmc.com
Version: 1.12 We will be updating to 1.12.2 hopefully on Oct 3!
Website: SwanCraft
TeamSpeak3: swancraft.enjinvoice.com
In a world full of soulless Minecraft Networks and "one-size-fits-all" hub servers, SwanCraft aims to give you something different: a place to call home. Our close-knit community is ready to welcome you into our family!
Features
“Semi” Vanilla
We aim to keep gameplay itself as vanilla as possible, while providing access to some commands that make Minecraft life a little less mundane. For example, we have /tpa, /sethome, and /spawn.
Grief Prevention
We utilize a plugin that allows you to claim your land and only give access to people that you trust! This prevents griefing and raiding, which gives you peace of mind and gives staff more free time to plan features and events!
Ranks
Our ranking system is determined by how many votes you accumulate for the server. There are 7 voting sites, so you can gain as many as 7 votes per 24 hours. As you rank higher, you gain access to additional features and some custom named items! Some additional features include /workbench, /nick, /enderchest, and kits. We also have 6 donator ranks that offer a broad range of added perks without being pay-to-win.
Crates
For every vote that you cast, you receive one SwanCrate Key. These may be used at spawn to open the SwanCrate. There are numerous rewards available in the crate. It is a gamble though! Sometimes you may win amazing prizes, other times...not so much. :P But that's the luck of the game! We also have a Donation Crate that has higher chances of getting OP items and heads with no "gag" items at all.

Vanilla tastes amazing on SwanCraft!
Welcome to SwanCraft, where a community atmosphere is valued and encouraged! We are managed by friendly, mature, and supportive staff. We will never turn into one of those one-size-fits-all hub servers that lacks that vibe of camaraderie that we value so strongly. Our goal is to give you the best Semi-Vanilla SMP Minecraft experience possible!
