a small detail i can't get over with

After Killua wins against the Ortho siblings, he falls and can't stand up again because he lost a lot of blood. He's starting to lose consciousness while feeling sad and apologetic about Gon. At the same time he's accepting his destiny, the drawing gets softer and softer, as if he's really going to disappear. The large white spaces also show that not only he's alone but he's about to die.

However, on the next page, Ikalgo appears holding his hand. Killua is still drawn soft, as if he's about to disappear, but Ikalgo looks much solid. In the first panel, Killua is drawn with soft lines in contrast with his hand and Ikalgo's tentacle, which look more solid. I really like how it shows that, in this case, Ikalgo is the one who is able to stand his ground and is going to save him. He's bringing him back.

If I'm gonna be honest, Togashi draws Killua in this way more than once. Those times are when he's sad about Gon, just after Gon said or did something that makes him feel bad (I would say, that breaks his heart). The lines are extremely soft, as if he's about to disappear (or even getting further away too), and his eyes look empty.

In my interpretation, I'm adding the "as if he's about to disappear", though probably it's just to show Killua in the light while Gon is more and more in the dark. Togashi uses this technique a lot during the Chimera Ant arc!

The Gon and Killua's drawings deserve a whole different post of analysis (there's a lot to say about it), but I wanted to include them since it's something I notice Togashi does a lot and it kinda relates to the Ikalgo and Killua's scene!

By the way, these are just my thoughts, not a deep analysis. Just for fun!

This one didn't win an award but I am proud of it nevertheless. My cosplay friends actually mistook this entry for another because they focused on Alluka, but the prompt here is "Memory".

My initial drawing was going to just be memories of Gon but I wanted Killua to go down memory lane while he is dreaming. I wanted to emphasize Gon though, who is reaching out on Killua's cheek, that is why Killua is blushing.

There isn't much to say except I enjoyed drawing this. Hope you guys like it too!

I think after the Kakin Succession War arc, Black Whale arc, and the Dark continent arc, we will retun to the island in lake mobius with a greater understand of Ai and the rules of the dark continent (my hc is that ging has predicted everything so far and he's going to the dark continent to get Gon his magic back but Ging's motivations are the central mystery of the series SO)

This is all to say: I think we will return to the Chimera Ants and Alluka (whose an Aye or Ai) once we learn more about their home. This is where we will likely revisit Ikalgo and Welfin and the rest. Ikaligo is one of the few characters with a horse in both races, as he's friends with Killua (and Alluka by extension) and a Chimera Ant. It would make thematic sense and story eloquence to have him as the central characters for future chapters.

Some of the Hunter x Hunter side characters from Seasons 2, 3 and 5. Always liked how varied the designs are lol

Was surprised that Pokkle and Ponzu ended up dying (wasn't too attached to them but I was very surprised) but I'm hoping nothing bad happens to Gon, Killua or Kite (didn't expect to get attached to the guy but he's been pretty cool so far and I want to see more of him). Also pretty much all of the Chimera Ants that appeared so far except for Colt and Peggy are super creepy and I would not be comfortable being in the same town as any of them

Edit: I'm devastated. Also I'm adding Ikalgo here too lol
