I learned so much today. I learned more in 10 hours than I have in a long time. Cinthya in the call center changed my life. She was such an animated, welcoming, humorous person. This is literally what I work for.
And my manager Megan walked me home! Great. Day.

Today I started my official career with Hyatt. I am really happy with the property that I was matched with. My Director of HR is just an awesome lady and I can't believe how much energy she had talking for 8 hours. I got to go on the roof of the hotel to visit the honey bees...over 100,000 of them! Never mind my extreme fear, I learned some really neat things about bees that I never knew before. The executive chef said that I come highly recommended from Chesa. Apparently when she visited the property, someone gave me a great recommendation and without hesitation, I blurted out, "JIMMY THE BELLMAN!"...but it wasn't him! It really makes me curious who this kind person was. Whoever it was, I am so grateful; it made my day.
#1 North America Hyatt property ranking in occupancy % last year went to Jersey City. I'm in for such a treat, here goes nothing!!!

My Belated New Year's Resolution
I'm one month late but...
My new year's resolution is to quit saying, "No problem."
Hyatt has taught me that this is incorrect to say to our guests. And in what way can I make my life more easier than to start saying the proper things in everyday language, even if it is just that simple response to others' gratitude for me, my actions, thoughts, and services?
Dear all,
You are more than welcome.
