The crew travels back to Earth in an attempt to open the Hyper-Transdimensional Bridge, but to do that, they need to contact some outside help from an old face outside of Final Space. “Hyper-Transdimensional Bridge Rising” premiered on this day, 4 Years Ago.

Gary isn't going to reveal his affliction to the team squad because he has always prioritized helping those he love and doing the right thing over his own safety.

We know that the mineral that can cure the final space poisoning is rare. He's not going to want the others to spend time looking for it if that means Invictus and the Titans could win and destroy the universe.

And as I said once before, I very much appreciate Gary as a protagonist in this age of super heroes in TV shows and movies. He has no special abilities. He just simply cares and tries his best no matter his own fears and worries. You can even see this in the opening title for this season. As he's falling down the wormhole or whatever it is, we get a close up on his face and there's a look of determination followed by a look of worry.

And as I was thinking about this, I finally realized the value of having Tribore as a character. He's more than just comic relief. Tribore is a parody of the heroes we often get in media these days. He's idolized or viewed as a savior. And he's very confident going into dangerous situations. He provides a contrast to the kind of hero Gary is.

Wow this episode made me kind of speechless.

The crew can finally go home but they need someone outside of Final Space to do the transmission aka Clarence but I guess it won't be easy cause the Gary hate club is here. It was rocky but Clarence finally did it but ended up dead cause Todd stupid self.

Anyway, it works and they open portal on their end, and now everything is going to be okay.... With a twist. Now here's I want found out, apparently KVN was built as a weapon and with enough of them can kill a Titan. Holy shit. Plus Gary is now infected... Shit.

So now with that plan, they decided to stay behind to defeat the Titans and Invictus once and for all, and I'll be lying if I say I'm not looking forward for next week cause I want to see how it plays out.

Spoilers for Final Space season 3 episode 9 Hyper transdimensional bridge rising

Found it interesting that Invictius was using a dead Gary as a vessel to talk and threaten The lord Commander. Definitely unsettling. And I also think this is the first time we've ever seen The lord Commander scared of anything. So I can only imagine how determine he'll be to get Mooncake next episode, just so he doesn't have to face Invictius's wrath.

I liked that is was Ash that suggested to call Clarence and turn on the bridge. Even though everyone had good points when they were trying to convince her to call someone else, I liked that no one argued with her when she said "He deserves to know about Fox."

I think Clarence in this episode is a good example of you don't know what you have until it's gone. He betrayed the two people that actually did love and care about him. Even when Ash called and made it clear she hasn't forgiven him, he didn't hesitate to leave and give everything away, because like he told the robot "It's just stuff."

Although I wish we could have seen his development on screen, I liked how they showed it this episode when Todd and the others were threatening him, he didn't hesitate to tell everyone he was turning the bridge on. Season 1/season 2 Clarence wouldn't have done that.

Thinking about it now, I'm not too surprised that Clarence died. I think this was a good way for him to redeem himself to everyone else, although again I wish we could have done a little more with him. I'll be honest I didn't like Clarence in either season 1 or 2, but Ash has been through so much this season I think it would've sweet if she could have seen him one last time so they could mourn and maybe do something for Fox together.

I'm surprised and assuming that Todd died right before Clarence did. Again I wish we could have done more with him. I was expecting to see him and Gary having st least one more scene together. Saying that. I liked the conversation that he and Clarence had, it really shows that there was no hope of him changing his ways or realizing what happened to the earth wasn't Gary's fault. Even when Clarence said "You can't let go of your own pain" and "Your family would probably be ashamed of what you've become." For a second it looked like he was taking Clarence's words to heart, but he still shot him, and was laughing before he died because he thought "I won. I killed Gary." So if this is the end of Todd and Clarence, I liked that they showed that some people who have done really bad things are capable of changing and being able to admit they were wrong. (Clarence). And other people who will refuse to change even though they know they're in the wrong. (Todd).

Quinn's decision to stay and fight the titans might not be a very good idea, but she had a point, we know Invictius wants to escape final space, and this might be the only way to stop him. Should have said something before Triborne left , but maybe he'll come back we'll see.

So it looks like we're in the final act of the season. I'm excited to see what they do next week. With them taking on Invictius and seeing that Gary and probably everyone else getting Final space poisoning, and Avacato still hasn't talked to Little Cato, it looks like we might see the season go out on a bang, or hopefully have a really good third act to end the season. (Fingers crossed.)

Wasted Potential: Todd H. Watson/Hushfluffles (Final Space)

(Idk if this is going to be a series or not, but I wanted to talk more in-depth on Todd since not a lot of people talk about him much. Also, heavy spoilers for Final Space.)

Ah, Final Space, a great animated show for adults with a compelling story, fun characters and moments that just pull at your heartstrings. At least until it got cancelled and left us on a big cliffhanger. Thanks Warner/Discovery.

Although, while a great show, it has it's fair share of bumps in the road. Fox's death when we barely knew him, some of the jokes and Biskit? Well... Let's not talk about Biskit. I'm here to talk about one of the show's villains that isn't the Lord Commander. No, I'm talking about Todd H. Watson, better known by his fursona, Hushfluffles.

Todd was introduced in the second episode of the second season, being in his fursuit until revealing himself to Gary and the Team Squad near the end. When we first meet him as Hushfluffles he appears as friendly and cuddly, putting on a deceiving facade in order to trap Gary and kill him slowly in his dreams. But thanks to Mooncake, they escape with Gary. What I find funny is that despite how determined he seems to want to kill Gary, he seems pretty lazy at it, since we don’t see him again until “The Lost Spy”, where he kidnaps Gary’s mother, Sheryl. 

Sheryl manages to free herself pretty easily and tells Todd that she doesn’t care about Gary. However, she’s caught off-guard by a syringe in her neck, which knocks her out, allowing Todd to try and find info on Gary in her head. But what he finds is that Sheryl wasn’t lying, she really hates Gary and decides to form an alliance with her. She gets the Dimensional Keys and he gets Gary.

Though, in the episode “The Descent into Darkness”, Todd easily gets wrecked by Tribore and is sent flying away from the Happy Place ship in a one of his own bubbles. And we never see him again... Until later into Season 3, in “Hyper-Transdimensional Bridge Rising”.

He’s one of the Team Squad’s enemies who saw their transmission to Clarence, and heads to where Clarence is going to turn on the portal to Final Space. He has Clarence at gunpoint, but the Dewinters, Mega-KVN, the Queen of Galang-22 and Time Swap Sammy. As they either kill each other or leave to form a new relationship, Todd manages to fatally shoot Clarence, but gets impaled by one of the Evil KVNs, where he dies, believing his mission is done. But Clarence manages to open the portal before he dies.

So, yeah, that was Todd basically. A mass murdering furry hellbent on revenge over the death of his family. I feel like the writers had two different ideas for characters and just decided to meld them together into one. A dreamscaping furry alien and a human who wants personal revenge on Gary. Both are great ideas on their own, but you can’t have the character be both, especially since Todd was supposed to be sympathetic.

But I mean, look at this shit! We're supposed to feel sorry for a guy who's been killing people for who knows how long?! And he wants us to feel sorry for him because his family died and he blames Gary for something he had no control of?

Todd could’ve been much better than what we got, especially since the crew behind the show think they can’t live up to the Lord Commander. But they don’t have to. Batman and Spider-Man have their rogues galleries and each villain is unique and great their own.
