what gets to me about luke’s betrayal, after having reread the lightning thief yesterday, is that not only was luke the first person after arriving at camp to make percy feel welcome-
luke taught percy to fight
luke taught percy to protect himself from the people who would try to kill him, then turned out to be one of the people who tried (and would continue to try) to kill him
