Okay im currently working on a drawing of the Collector but now all i can think about is them so uhhhh collector rant time!

Theyre quickly become a fav of mine, for a lot of reasons! Banger design, banger theme, fun personality, just a weird lil guy.. but its also complicated since he's undeniably not a great person. I mean, the draining spell only existed cuz of him! And they must have done SOMETHING to get King's dad to want to imprison them and hide King from them.

But also... they dont seem to be super purposefully malicious?? They didnt care about wiping out the boiling isles with the draining spell, that was Belos. And despite it King being hidden from them, they seem genuinely excited to meet and play with King, and seemingly has no desire to purposefully hurt him?

It seems his problem is his god-like powers/standing and lack of empathy or connections with others. It makes him unpredictable. He may not want to purposefully hurt King, but it may not bother him if he does. He gets so caught up in games, that he's willing to start tearing the world up like with the owl house game.

Its just so interesting to me, and i honestly love having favorite characters where i honestly have mixed feelings about. Cuz the Collector is undeniably a threat, but i also feel bad for them.. they did seem upset when betrayed by Belos and again, he doesnt seem to have like... really bad intentions?? And i also felt super bad when King made the pinky promise with him but he was like "youre not just using me like Belos, are you?" when that was exactly what was going on. They just keep on getting used by both the good guys and the bad guys and it makes me so interested in where his character is going
