Just found out that my local* museum stopped showing all their funny computers death and suffering on planet autism
#tetranynous.txt#*local as in 1 hour by train because theres nothing closer in any direction#for context: THEY HAVE AN APPLE 1#theyre building a whole new place plus upgrading one of the old ones so hopefully i can see them soon#the day i see their weird yellow ibm 1401 irl my life will be complete#also on the ibm 1401 website where they list all known surviving units theyre like ''why is it yellow???''#SO IM GONNA ASK#current theory is that it was a custom job for a power station but thats 100% speculation on my part#since we do have the australian division of ibm like only a few ks away its not outside the realm of possibility#we are starved of funny computers in museums here we have this; the CSIRAC in Melbourne and the hp museum in some guys shed#i am eternally jealous of the texas computer museum (HAS 2 WORKING 1401S!!!)
