College setting, I think. Idk how schools in the US work so this is mostly based on my experience which is a heckin mess tbh

Gets really excited when he finds a parallel between words in different languages

Is scarily good at answering multiple choice questions in tests??

Doesn't do so good in other kinds of written tests because he mostly answers in keywords and apparently that’s not enough???

Unironically loves many of the 'overplayed' song because he somehow missed their most popular phase and only found out about them literal years later

Doesn't like to curse in his own language, but got desensitized to a curse word in another language during high school and used it so much it became a knee-jerk reaction so he's trying to un-learn that habit because he's going to be a teacher and he shouldn't curse in front of the kids h e c k

Everyone somehow assumes he's the innocent naive type, but Patton's been on the Internet for years

He does pass, but barely

One time he didn't get a passing grade and almost had to retake the class but then the higher-ups decided to lower the passing grade for that exact one class so he??? Passed????? How the heck??????

Can't read the atmosphere and most social cues to save his life

One time he sat next to a person all morning and at the end of the last period someone looked at the person and went 'Woah why do you look so pale? Are you sick?' And the person went 'Ah ye I've been sick since yesterday I think I'm running a fever' and he went silent because he honestly didn't notice and he felt really bad

Comes off as insensitive/a jerk sometimes because of that and he really hates that but shhhh

Studying to be an ESL teacher because he likes languages and it's free where he lives

Is reconsidering his decision though bc he doesn't like being in front of people

But essays and presentations are the bane of his existence as a student

His grammar is impeccable and he has good sentence structures but he struggles with finding and expressing ideas

Gets told his voice is too monotonous but doesn't know how to fix it

Likes using weird similes/metaphors/euphemisms (sry i cant english rn so i cant seem to find the right word ugh) that only his family and close friends understand

He doesn't get why other people don't understand them? The meaning is so obvious to him???

Messed up when registering for a class one time

That one class happens to be the requirement for like a dozen and a half other classes and he is now two years behind schedule

Before that? He mostly listened to Vocaloid. That's all he listened to for about 10 years.
