Once you had made the decision that it was time to start trying for a baby, it was like Sebastian was glued to you whenever he could be. Any spare moment he could find - he had you either bent over the nearest surface or in his lap in the car. You honestly were enjoying all the extra attention, the only complaint you had was the fact that it was taking so long to get pregnant.
The sound of his driver room door shutting stirred you from your thoughts, looking up from the book you had been reading while curled up on the couch.  “You’re back early?” You set the book off to the side as you watch him hurriedly pull off his race suit. “Of course baby, extra time with you.” he winked, moving to pull off his fireproofs. You smile as you watch him, admiring the view. “Seb..” you sighed as you put your feet back on the floor, smoothing the bottom of your dress back down. He froze for a moment with his hands on the band of his briefs, “What’s wrong?” he asked, one hand reaching out to cup your face. “We’ve got a little time before I have to be ready for interviews,” he leaned down to press a kiss to your lips. “and I plan on putting a baby in you.”  You smiled sadly against his lips, hand coming up to gently smack at his arm.  “I’m just worried as to why it’s not working. We’re doing all this,” you gesture around you, “I’m traveling with you just so you can try to get me pregnant. It’s been six months and I’m still not pregnant.” your voice slightly exasperated.
Sebastian’s face goes through a few emotions before he settles on a soft smile, his hand caressing the side of your face. “Schatz, don’t get discouraged.” he murmured as he kneeled in between your legs so you were at eye level with each other. You bring your arms up to rest on his shoulders as your hands run through the slightly damp hair at the back of his neck. “It just means I need to try harder, yeah?” the tone in his voice joking as he was trying to make you smile, he leaned in for another kiss that you turned your head for so it landed on your cheek. “Seb, I’m being serious. What if something is wrong?” you asked quietly, your glossy eyes finally meeting his.
“Liebling, there is nothing wrong with either of us. We’ve both been stressed and trying very hard to make this happen.” His voice was gentle but serious as his hands came to rest on your thighs, causing you to look at him again. “How about if we still get negatives after three more months, we will go to a doctor?” His eyebrows furrowed in concern for you. You thought about it for a moment before wiping your tears away with one hand, the other still resting on Sebastian’s neck. “Yeah that sounds good, baby.” you agreed, even though internally you were screaming. He wanted this so bad and was so excited when you finally told him you were ready. But now you couldn’t even fulfill your promise. “I love you, thank you for supporting me.” you murmur, pursing your lips for a kiss. “I’ll always support you, my love.” he promised as he leaned in for a kiss, his hand moving to the side of your neck as he pulled you in.
“How much time do you have?” you ask against his lips, leaning back into the couch as you pull him with you. The smirk on his face sent shivers down your spine as you settled into the cushions with him crawling over the top of you, a position you found yourself in more often recently. “I think we have plenty of time for me to put a baby in you, if that’s what you’re asking.” His hands were already moving down to bunch your dress up around your waist. “Good, because seeing you sweaty in fireproofs always does something to me.” you admit, running your hands down his back as he leans down to place kisses from your lips down to your neck. You feel his breath puff against your neck when he laughs, his teeth gently nipping at your skin. “So that’s what does it for you, huh?” he asks jokingly, “Just need to get me sweaty in fireproofs?” The rest of his sentence is cut off by a knock at his door, a voice coming through. “Sebastian, we need you in five!” he lets out a groan, forehead dropping to your shoulder. “Yeah! Got it!” he shouts back. “We’re not done here, I’ll finish this later.” he promises against your lips as he gives you a swift kiss, pulling your dress back into place before he got dressed and was out the door.
He did in fact keep his promise. It couldn’t have been more than an hour or two later that he’d had you bent over the arm of the couch, his mouth spewing out all sorts of dirty things. When you finally caught your breath afterward you caught a case of the giggles, cleaning yourself up and straightening your clothes.
“What’s so funny?” You turn to look at him, his eyes are closed and he’s sitting with his head leaning over the back of the couch. Smirking, you climb into his lap gently, laying yourself onto his chest with your head resting on his shoulder. “Just thinking about how wild this all is. We weren’t even like this when we got married, or even started dating.” His arms come up to wrap around you, “Now look at us, going at it like rabbits whenever we have a spare moment.” you giggled into his neck, closing your eyes. You’re not sure how long you both laid there enjoying the time together before a knock interrupted you again, “Seb, we’ve got our team meeting.” the voice called through the door, a sigh leaving your lips. “On my way.” he called back, one hand rubbing your back. “Why don’t you head back to the hotel and I’ll meet you there? Order some room service or something, I’m not sure how long I’ll be.” You kissed him before climbing off his lap, fixing your clothes and hair before offering a hand to help him up. “I love you.” You smiled, “I love you too baby.”
After a few hours back at the hotel, you’d already ordered room service and taken a hot bath. You couldn’t stop yourself from scrolling through hundreds of articles on how to increase your chances of getting pregnant. “This is so stupid.” you mutter, tossing your phone onto the nightstand to grab your book. You curled up against the pillows clad in one of Sebastian’s t-shirts, intent on finally getting through the end of the book.  The next thing you knew you were blinking awake to soft kisses on your neck, the lights were off and your book long forgotten.  His warm body tight up against your back as you relaxed back into him, your hand reaching down to lace with his that rested on your stomach.
“When did you get back?” you asked, eyes still closed as you will yourself to go back to sleep. “Not long ago, I was surprised you didn’t wake up when I showered or anything.” he mumbled into your skin, you feel his lips gently brushing against you. He gently pulls you on your back as he moves to hover over you, the light from outside the window gently illuminating one side of his face. “Are you feeling okay?” he questions, one hand coming up to caress the side of your face. You shift underneath him to get comfortable in the new position, “Honestly a little sore.” you say with a laugh, pulling him down for a kiss. “Kinda like after our week-long honeymoon where I couldn’t walk properly for a few days.” He laughs against your lips, his hand moving down to trace the outside of your thigh from where you wrapped your leg around his hip. “I haven’t really given you a break in a while, huh?” You shook your head, closing your eyes again. “If you make it quick and I don’t have to do anything, I think I can manage.” you joke, pulling him down to lay on top of you. “You’re a minx, you know that right?” He was already pulling your t-shirt up and off, “Roll on your side baby, I’ll do the work.”
The next morning you woke up with him still plastered to your back, arm wrapped tightly around you with his hand resting on your neck. You slipped out of the bed without waking him and you made your way to the shower. Halfway through your shower you feel cold air at your back, and then two arms wrapping around you. “I woke up and you were gone.” His voice muffled into your skin, you turn in his arms letting the water wash over him. “I wanted to let you sleep, you still had some time left.” you say as you cuddle into his arms, enjoying the warmth of the water running over your skin. “You’ve gotta get out of that pretty little head, baby.” He mumbles into the top of your head, pressing a kiss before he speaks again. “Stressing about it isn’t going to help anything, it’ll happen when it happens.”
As he normally is, he was correct.
After two more months of what Sebastian started calling “putting in the fastest lap” much to your protests, it finally happened. You had been under the weather for a few days so you stayed home from his most recent trip, curled up on the couch. You were avoiding taking a test so you wouldn’t have to see a negative again and you were sure what you had was a cold, but the girls kept blowing up your phone telling you to do it. Your hands were shaking as you paced the bathroom waiting for the timer to go off, you didn’t even bother telling Sebastian that you were taking the test. He was trying to focus on the race happening in a few hours, the last thing you needed was to distract him with another negative test.
The sound of the timer on your phone made you jump, clutching your hand over your chest as you took in a deep breath. “It’s going to be negative, I don’t know why you’re acting like this.” you mutter to yourself, shaking hands reaching out to uncover the test. When you saw the two pink lines you forgot how to breathe, it was like your whole body shut down.  You slowly picked up the test as you sank down to the bathroom floor while forcing yourself to take some deep breaths in. “Holy shit.” you breathed out as tears welled up in your eyes. You sat in the silence taking in the moment before your brain kicked back in, realizing that you were in fact finally pregnant. After you were sure you weren’t going to pass out you grabbed your phone and the test, bringing it all back out to the couch so you could curl back up to watch the race.
Watching Sebastian on the podium was something you loved to see, his wide smile and happiness radiating from him. It also helped to see him drenched in champagne, but that was something you would keep to yourself - or at least the girls group chat.
You must’ve fallen asleep during all the post-race interviews because when you opened your eyes it was light outside and your phone was buzzing on the table. Pulling it off the table and to your ear, “Hello?” His signature laugh floats through the phone, “There’s my sleeping beauty, how are you feeling?” he asks softly, you can hear the sound of the highway in the background. “You coming second made me feel so much better.” you smirked, closing your eyes. “But really, I’m okay. Still have a headache and I’m feeling nauseous.” you hum, mentally checking yourself over to see if anything has changed. “I’m sorry to hear that schatz, I’ll be home in about an hour and I’ll make you some soup.” you freeze in your spot, breath catching. “What do you mean you’ll be home in an hour? I thought you weren’t coming home until Tuesday?” you ramble, sitting up on the couch in a panic. You needed to shower, clean, change and get some sort of surprise ready for him. “I thought I’d surprise you, I got a red eye after the race.” you hear him chuckle as you scramble off the couch, rushing to the bathroom. “I mean if you don’t want me there I can find somewhere to go.” he joked as you hurriedly turned the shower and stripped off your clothes. “No, please, I want you here. But I have to go!” you nearly shouted into the phone before hanging up and tossing it onto the counter.
Exactly fifty-five minutes later you hear the front door open and the sound of him kicking his shoes off, you’re in the middle of grabbing the test off the coffee table causing you to quickly hide it behind your back. His eyes narrow as he stares at you from across the room, “Very suspicious.” You shake your head at his words, a smile on your face. “I don’t know what you mean?” you lie as you step towards him, pursing your lips for a kiss. “Welcome home baby, we’re so proud of you.” You watch his eyes narrow further before his whole face softens into a smile, “We?” he asks, reaching out for you. “What do you mean we, liebling?” he rapid fires at you, hands coming to your face as he searches your eyes for an answer. You pull the test out from behind your back to show to him, “I took it before your race.” you explain as he reaches for it, holding it in his hands with an amazed look before he pulls you into his arms. “Baby you should’ve called me.” he beamed, you were actually worried he might hurt himself with how wide he was smiling. “I didn’t want to distract you from the race. I was honestly sure it was going to be negative.”
You weren’t sure how long the two of you stood in the hallway wrapped around each other, but after what felt like hours you heard him speak again. “We’re going to be parents. We’re going to have a baby.” You laugh against his neck, pulling back to look at him.  “We’re going to be parents. We’re going to have a baby.” you repeat to him, giving him a soft kiss.
After he’d settled into being home again, you were in the kitchen making lunch when you heard him call out for you again. “Yeah Seb?” you called back, walking back into the living area with his plate of food. “Does this mean you can start calling me daddy now?” his signature smirk is back on his face as he winks in your direction.
