"I’ve heard a lot of guys get just… covered in tattoos,” he nods, gesturing vaguely. “Just to feel like their body belongs to them, you know?”

“Yeah,” Eddie agrees. “Yeah - and that was my first thought - but I already have tattoos, and I don’t really want to be covered, but then I thought…” he trails off with a shrug, just as Buck's lips part in understanding.

“They make you shave it off.”

“Yeah,” Eddie agrees again. “It's not just - not just the service, though. Just my entire life, I’ve always felt like it was something I couldn’t do. I wasn't supposed to,” he explains. "I don't know why, no one ever told me I couldn't, but..." Once again, he trails off. Buck hums.

“So you’re doing it.”

“I’m doing it.”

Or, Eddie grows his hair out, Buck loses his mind, and they both find the secret to happiness.
