this little tidbit on loduns wiki page is amusing becasue it implies that like, something happened to the first executioner between the teaser demo and the update dropping and instead of hiring a new guy they were just like fuck it. make the dragon work a second job

#i do geniunely prefer the route they took for the final release where like #i think having each of the courtiers turn into a wyrm when their emotions overtake them adds a lot more narrative spice than #'oh you made the king too angry and now hes siccing the dragon on you. oops. oh well go kill that thang'#like the way they keep talking to you the entire time you fight them. the lines from lodun and mathila especially that imply #how they dont want to do any of it. they actively try to resist it. but they cant help themselves #its just so. ugh! its delicious #i think a lot of that fun symbolism of literally confronting your own out of control emotions and slaying them like a dragon wouldnt hit #quite so hard if each dragon didnt also have a name and a face and a life outside of this
