something that frustrated me and lok is that kya and bumi, when talking with tenzin made it seem like aang didnt want to share his culture with either of them

like, i can believe the favoritism, unfortunately i know first hand that parents can be super obvious about it, but i just don't believe that aang wouldn't want to share his NEARLY EXTINCT culture with ALL his kids! like yeah they couldn't do ALL of it bc they werent airbenders, but they had air nomad blood and i think that would MEAN something to aang

like idk, i think the favoritism resentment could have been written better, i believe in it, but it felt less believable than it could have been idk

#what also would have been believable is if tenzin was like *well MOM liked you best kya!*#just cause like well obviously bending is a sacred part of culture that others are barred from #but OBVIOUSLY not everyone in a culture isnt a bender #i dont think the air nomads were throwing non-bending babies off the mountains yknow???#and at least in atla bending felt like kinda special #like bending wasnt SUPER common #tho maybe thats just my own understanding and i dont think its based on any canon evidence #but to me its like a 25/75 split #so many ppl in the earth kingdom werent benders but like they were still participating in the earth kingdom culture #(also????? bending can be LEARNED right?? oma and shu learned bending #toph says that the badgemoles taught her earth bending but was that like as in she had the ability or they TAUGHT it to her???)#anyway i just the way they handled culture in korra was a lil clumsy anyway considering that identity was a huge theme of the show #AND the comics for that matter #oh whale #conspiracy lvl: text
