baking day!! why am I doing it all today??? nobody knowssssss maybe for the solstice I guess (also hopefully they won't be stuck in shipping before the holiday) (

the friend of spritz, because they use egg whites, Gran Marnier biscotti mmmhmm yum (trying to stage them for shipping in the midst of my disaster apartment kitchen) :

aaaand pumpkin cookies from this AMAZING king Arthur recipe which I rolled in bitter chocolate to make them a little more intense. I love pressing chocolate into light dough with a fork, the tiger striping is very dramatic:

I had planned to make myself a fruitcake this week but it's a bit late and I've put in a whole kitchen shift already today. it's giving me flashbacks to shift work lmaoo and I don't think I need more sugar? maybe I'll feel different tomorrow.
10 sticks (1140ish grams) of butter have been melted, pounded, whipped, folded or smeared in the past 7 hours in this home. the eccles cakes are the obvious undisputed butter champions, since I pounded a whole 200g of straight butter into the already buttery dough...but the chocolate actually used 3 sticks too so nobody's innocent here except the biscotti.
