#i feel like connor would be heartbroken thinking the dude he thought of as a dad thought he woulda left him
Text
kinda thing i thought of
Even though in canon, most likely this wouldn't end up happening but what if Hank thought that originally, when (if) Connor deviated, that he'd hate him and etc etc because he, by technicality, was his owner and sorta wasn't all that nice in the beginning. Sure, he got better, but he wouldn't admit that to himself, and end up thinking Connor would leave him when he deviated.
Why? Because most deviants left their originally work areas and owners and seemed to resent them when Hank saw it in the cases he and Connor did. And, in this like, au, vision, headcanon, idea, whatever, Connor was pretty cold when he first met Hank which made Hank a little bit of an asshole towards him before Connor started to like.. grow into being alive lol. So, naturally, Hank assumes the minute Connor deviates and actually is alive and has choices that he'd hate Hank for being an asshole and abandon him, right? Correct.
And so he lives like this the entire rest of Connor's pre-deviation. (This like, thought process was especially significant after the Bridge scene.) This like, trying not to get attached to Connor even though he kept seeing him like Cole because he knew he'd leave him ("knew"). He didn't want to feel like he lost a friend, a son, Cole again.
When he saw Sixty come, he knew it wasn't Connor. He knew Connor deviated. He thought Connor had left him. It took all he had not to just fucking re-experience the grief of losing someone again.
Even though they weren't that close, it was just something between the two. (found family go brrrr) Something that made them feel close, like family almost.
Seeing Connor in the Cyberlife Tower felt like a relief. But seeing how he tried so desperately to defend Hank, it shattered his entire world-view. He spent a good portion of knowing Connor thinking he'd leave him after becoming an actual person, but now he was faced with a completely different option. Maybe Connor did care about him?
He'd never admit that he probably cried afterwards. Probably happy to see Connor again and have that one shred of hope. Of course he acted normal (ish) in the tower, had to. Couldn't let Connor know this revelation was happening now.
Seeing Connor after the whole revolution, that fucking hug fucking broke him. Because he thought he'd never see Connor again. He thought Connor woulda hated him afterwards. Turns out, he didn't. Turns out, the dude actually likes him. Wow. Hank never thought that was possible. Especially after how much he hated androids.
Even after Connor was clearly a deviant, even after Connor clearly expressed how he wanted to stay friends with Hank after the revolution, Hank couldn't seem to accept it. He banged into his head that Connor would've left him and now? What else was he supposed to do?
But god DAMN did Connor freak out when he found out. Y'know, imagine finding out that someone who you care about so much and see as a father figure thought you'd leave them.
And Connor managed to work it out with Hank. Probably. Because you don't want to ruin your amazing relationship with your dad basically because of preconceived ideas that can be resolved.
Also might make a comic with this later. Just to overload myself even more with work!

Lost or Found - 6
Summary: As Jay, Hailey, Kim, Adam and Kevin start their junior year in the wake of a tragic summer, the past year of their lives comes back to haunt them. If you enjoyed Pretty Little Liars, this is for you! *UPSTEAD/BURZEK High School AU
...
6 - Born to Die
...
“You can’t be serious Hailey.” Jay said as they pulled out of the school parking lot. Hailey had booked it to the truck after her sudden realization and was still very shaken up.
She turned to face him. “I am! Jay, I’ve heard that voice in my nightmares. It has to be him. He’s connected to all of this somehow.” Hailey sat back in her seat and pressed her hand lightly to her neck, remembering the night she was attacked.
“I’ve known Severide for years, his dad’s a firefighter. He’s a great guy. There is no way he is wrapped up in all this.” Jay couldn’t wrap his head around any of it.
“I know what I heard, he attacked me that night.” Hailey said confidently.
Jay sighed, “This isn’t the first thing you’ve been sure of this week.”
“What is that supposed to mean?”
“The whole Nadia thing,” Jay explained, “You were so sure that it was her, we saw her today when the texts were sent. It couldn’t be. You’re grasping for anything to explain this Hailey.”
Hailey was sure there was steam coming out of her ears. “That’s not fair.” Jay kept quiet this time. “Last time I checked, you asked for my help and we are trying to solve your girlfriend's case. Don’t get mad at me because I’m looking at facts.”
Jay wasn’t sure what to say. She was right, she didn’t have any sort of emotional connection to anyone. She was purely objective. “I know, I’m sorry. It’s just, Erin and Kelly were really good friends. I couldn’t imagine him hurting her.”
“I didn’t say he hurt her, I’m saying that he hurt me.” Hailey’s words struck hard. It almost felt like a switch flipped inside of him. He hurt Hailey. Jay hadn’t realized how attached to her he had gotten, she had been his rock the past few weeks. And something else felt new as well: the phrase “girlfriend” didn’t sit well with him anymore. She had been gone almost four months now, she hadn’t really been his girlfriend in a long time. It wasn’t like he was happy either, he was thinking about ending things and kissing Hailey that night was the final straw. He wanted to kiss someone else, he enjoyed kissing someone else. He was going to break up with her that night, and he didn’t get the chance. So now, he’s still playing the role of the heartbroken boy with the missing girlfriend and even Hailey believed it.
His eyes landed on her again at the next red light, her eyes were watery, her gaze fixed on her lap. “And he’s not going to again.” He reached over the center console and placed a comforting hand on hers. He earned a small smile in return.
Hailey wanted to be mad a little longer, but she couldn’t be. As much as she loved her friends, and Chicago, she didn’t grow up there like the rest of them. She didn’t know many people outside of her tight knit circle, accusing Nadia or Kelly was easy for her in a way. The rest of them had to handle the betrayal along with the fear.
The pair opted to go to her house, and Hailey ignored the feeling in her stomach as they stepped over the threshold. She had become accustomed to Jay being around, it wasn’t strange for them to end up at each other’s houses or just riding around town with milkshakes. They spent a lot of time together and she could feel herself starting to get attached, which was a hard no in her book.
Throwing their backpacks down by the door they made their way to the kitchen, where Jay helped himself to the box of donuts on her counter. Her aunt had bought them to celebrate the first day of school, but they were using them to mourn the summer.
“So why doesn’t Greg hang out with us?” Hailey asked, breaking the silence.
Jay wiped the chocolate frosting from his face before responding. “He’s homeschooled, his dad’s in the military so they move around a lot, but they keep an apartment here. He’s pretty shy, he used too, but he and Erin didn’t really get along.”
Hailey noticed the sad look on his face, “You should bring him around more often. He seems cool.”
“I don’t want to bring him into all of this.” Jay said, only half lying. He knew that he had helped with the text, but he drew the line there. Not only that, but Greg and Jay had known each other for a long time, they knew exactly how screwed up each other were, and they were both happy to keep things just between them.
Hailey nodded and handed him another donut, which he gladly accepted, eating his feelings seemed like a great solution for the time being.
Kim sat on Adam’s bed, scrolling through instagram while Adam talked to his mom on the phone. They were at his dad’s house and his mom wasn’t very happy about it. It hurt Kim to watch Adam struggle through his parents divorce, it was only finalized a few months ago and he wasn’t doing very well with splitting time.
They spent most of their time at his dad’s when they weren’t at her house, her parents adored him and Adam liked the weekly family dinners and the sense of stability that came with them. His mom wasn’t a big fan of Kim, she saw her as another person that was in the way of her getting all of his attention. Not that Adam was fond of giving her any, her substance abuse was quickly eating away at their relationship.
Adam through his phone on the bed next to Kim, causing her to look up at him. He was obviously stressed and she took it as an invitation to wrap her arms around him. He gladly accepted the embrace, placing his chin on the top of her head. After a few minutes, Kim looked up at him. “You okay?”
“I am now.” He smirked, hugging her a bit tighter.
Kim pulled away, leaving her hands on his elbows. “I’m being serious. Are you okay?”
Adam groaned and pulled her down next to him on his bed. “I guess, I’m just fed up with my mom starting fights.” Kim took his hand in hers, brushing her thumb over the back of it. “And my dad is choosing to ignore her, so I have to play damage control.”
“I’m so sorry.”
He gave her a weak smile. “I know we all have way bigger problems right now, but I’m so sick of it all. I’m their kid, this isn’t my job.”
“Hey,” Kim said, pacing her hand on his jaw. “Don’t do that, we can’t focus on that all the time or we’ll go crazy. Plus, what are we gonna do? You are allowed to be upset, no matter what else is going on.”
“You’re amazing, you know that?”
Kim smirked, “I’ve been told a few times.” She squealed as Adam grabbed her by the waist and pulled her towards him, placing his lips on hers. She responded immediately, her hand finding the nape of his neck while his stayed on her waist. Somewhere in the middle, she ended up on her back on the bed with Adam hovering over her. She pulled him closer to her, which caused him to lose his balance and fall slightly top of her. They collapsed in a fit of laughter, Adam rolling over to lay on his back beside her.
He looked over at her, a huge grin on his face. “This may be a little fast but,” his hand found hers, “I love you, Kim.”
Kim was frozen for a second. She thought that she had imagined him saying it like she had a million times before. “Is this real?” She asked, rolling on her side to face him.
“It better be.” Adam joked, chuckling nervously. This was what he was afraid of, that she didn’t feel the same way. He was shocked when she jumped him, kissing him with more intensity than ever before.
“I love you too.” She said grinning, and suddenly Adam was on top of her all over again.
Kevin was sitting with some of the guys from the team at a local diner, they decided to go grab burgers after practice. They were laughing, joking, having a great time, well, everyone but Kevin.
He was worried about Vinessa, his little sister, constantly. Everyone else that was being threatened had at least a shot at defending themselves, she was just a kid. He had always been over protective of her, and his brother, Jordan. He was almost ten years older than him, Vinessa being only three. His mom was a single mom, working two jobs to keep their house, his dad left right after he was born and Jordan and Vinessa’s bolted before her first birthday. So Kevin was the closest thing to a father figure that they had.
“Dude, did you see Decotis today? Damn that girl got hot.” One of his teammates asked.
The running back, Connor, grimaced. “I don’t know man, did you hear what Halstead said?” He asked. “I”m staying away, I wouldn’t put it past Sampson to sleep with a student. What do you think Kev?” Kevin wasn’t paying any attention, he was mindlessly staring down his drink. “Kev?”
He snaps his head up, having no idea what they were asking him. “Uh, I don’t know.”
“Were you even paying attention?” Connor asks, laughing.
Kevin shakes his head, the rest of the group not noticing the lack of enthusiasm he was giving off. He wasn’t sure what he was going to do to protect his siblings, but he did know that in order to get to them, they would have to go through him.
Hailey woke up the next morning feeling surprisingly well rested. School was giving her a sense of normalcy that she had lost in the past few weeks. She showered and got ready quickly, bounding down the stairs ready to tackle the day.
Thankfully, she wouldn’t have to sit next to Severide in class today and she was sure that between her and Jay, she could find a way to avoid him.
When she entered the kitchen, she found her aunt and uncle sitting at their usual spot at the table, but Randall was looking a little more disheveled than usual after shift. She leaned against the island, “Everything okay?”
“Hailey.” Trudy said, just then noticing her presence.
Randall looked up with a sad look in his eyes. “Come sit down kiddo.”
Hailey sat down hesitantly. “What’s going on? Is Jay okay? Kim, Adam? Kevin?” She began to panic, ignoring the fact that the first person to come to her mind was a certain Halstead.
“Yes.” Trudy said, placing a hand over Hailey’s shaky one. “They are all fine. Randall…” She dragged off, nodding to her husband.
Randall turned his whole body towards his niece. “Last night, around Midnight, we responded to a residential fire on Wabash. It was an old abandoned house, one of the last ones on the street. The basement was full of paper materials and electronics like computers, so with an accelerant it went up fast and burned hot.” He took a breath, “It’s already been turned over to fire investigation for arson, but, I wanted you to know that we pulled a body from the fire.”
Hailey knew what house he was talking about, she and Jay had been there just last week, but she played dumb. “I don’t understand, what does that have to do with me?”
“Hailey, they think it’s Erin.”
A/N: I know that the family dynamics are a little different than they are on the show, but I had to alter them a bit to fit this storyline! Thanks for reading!

Let's talk about Eric Effiong
Let's be honest Eric's storyline and characterization is one of the most appealing out of all the characters in Sex Education periodt. A true gay, fierce, Drag QUEEN and I feel like ranting about this amazing force of nature. (Spoilers. Duh.)
When I saw the trailer for Sex Education it didnt even hit me that Eric was gay until I read the synopsis. Was just like "Oh I wonder which one of these three mains are the gay one people keep talking about" even after I saw him in drag like a dumbass 😣😂. Personally im glad we've reached a point where gay guys aren't overly feminine and even the brightest colours won't differ a character from the rest (unless I'm just a blind bish and he was obviously gay from the trailer) ei 👏🏾 ther 👏🏾 way; his character was refreshing when I started watching the show. I immediately clicked with him and knew what every look he gave or hand gesture he did meant. Felt nice. When Adam pushed him into the locker for the first time and started with the heterohomoerotic bs I knew that Adam had a raging boner for Eric and was another internalized homophobic bully™ and wasn't really excited for what was to come but I knew it was coming and tbh I liked it in the end.
Eric and Otis' friendship is so pure. Like?!? Get me a straight supportive bestie lilke Otis? Ik they fought but even then Otis was respectful and kept his boundaries and let Eric go through the motions before immediately belting into an apology at the first chance he got. Their dancing scene?!? Iconic. The fact that Eric sees Otis' house as safe and another home?!? Iconic. Otis going drag with Eric to watch an LGBT+ movie as a TRADITION (meaning they've done it numerous times)?!?! Iconic. The fact that Otis was straight up ditching Eric and Eric STILL tolerated him and let him do his thing without too much pressure!?! The most iconic of them all. Just pure love and respect all around.
I am so proud of Erics growth over the course of the season starting from a naive and scared gay doormat to facing homophia and getting beat up by those assholes on his birthday no less to losing his best friend and becoming depressed to channeling that anger into defending himself when people tried him to getting his sparkle back and coming back more fierce that ever before.
Speaking of him getting his sparkle back lets talk about that and why that scene is so important. A random guy asked Eric for directions and Eric noticed his nails were polished and the guy was wearing earrings and he was a big ole black dude. He was like Eric. When Eric noticed that the guy was out, loud, glamorous and proud he immediately switched back into the bright colourful and wonderfully gay Eric we all know and love.
THIS IS WHY REPRESENTATION MATTERS!!!!
It shows people that its okay to be who they actually are and inspires those who are lost to find or return to their true selves. Representation isn't just some offhand thing to throw on a character last minute. And even if you can relate to other characters who arent like you, it is always an amazing feeling to have a character that IS like you. It turned Eric from a popularity seeking doormat into a hurricane with 6 inch heels who was ready to straight up beat down a bully he's had for 4 years. It even inspired him to go back to church and rejoin a community that he closed off. That's exactly how it feels to have someone successful in the media and your life to look up to. Eric only interacted with that man for a few minutes but those few minutes changed his life for the better. So that's a lovely reminder for all who love to bash representation.
Back tracking to Eric's dull colourless period after the attack and his fight with Otis. It was saddening to see one of the brightest characters go dull and even the school felt it. He turned from a guy who rarely stood up for himself and what he wanted into the sass master he reserved only for his friends. All of his built up anger was released causing him to explode on Mr Hendricks (who is adorable tbh and just trying to do his best) and Anwar (I was proud of that punch you go glenn co co) and he even sounded off on his dad who he's usually passive aggressive to at worst. Just goes to show that the happiest faces can harbor the biggest pains and can snap. Moral of the story? Protect the happy few.
Eric also has a great family. Like that obviously know Erics gay and wears dresses because its all right there in his room which his parents enter at their leisure and while it seems that they're a bit homophobic its revealed that they (Erics dad at least) just wants Eric to be safe as he's already a target for being black and apart of an immigant family. He accepts Eric for who he is and what he does he just doesnt want anyone else to give him shit for it and if that's not one of the sweetest things in this world idek what is. Eric and his dad was probably one of my favorite dynamics in the show and watching his dad slowly fully accept that his son was strong and able to stand for himself he was able to become stronger too. This dynamic is important because I never see any gay black characters have a close relationship with their fathers and it was very heartwarming to watch.
Now onto Erics love life. He has a crush on the highschools other only gay guy Anwar who's the typical mean sassy gay we've all come to expect in highschool dramas. Otis saying that Eric doesnt have to have a crush on the only other openly gay guy at school was such a mood as its commonly shown that any gays in close proximity should get together. When Eric punched him I internally went "Finally!" Because all those jeers were becoming annoying. I'm glad Anwar got to come out to his mum over it though. And straight up told the audience that Eric didn't like feminine guys (alluding to him and Adams eventual clean up scene as of we didn't see it coming already).
Moving on to Adam tho, like I said we all been knew that this
Tumblr media
was indeed coming and even though I hate the bully x bullied trope I still ended up liking it and hoping that Adam would change. The building up to that kiss was long awaited from episode 1 straight through to 8 with all the longing looks that Adam kept side glancing Eric with and the face cupping and the growls and the lingering touches. I just kept going sthdjksksbslaldbd when one of those moments happened followed shortly after with disgust because gays falling for their abuser is washed up but then immediately going back to jajaklamabsldkd because im shipping trash so 🤷🏿. Eric stepping to Adam in at the ball was one of the most iconic scenes of the show (along with the "Its My Vagina" scene) and the exchange between him and Adam gave be actual chills. The tension was THICCCC. Erics OUTFIT to the ball gave me chills 😭😭 dude came to slay and had everyone at that school proper shook and I honestly could NOT be more proud. I was hoping Adam would become a better person over the course of the season but nope so hopefully they cover all the issues that Adam has in season 2 and properly give him a redeption arc cuz he's still a trashy pos he's just a disaster bi on top of it. (Adam immediately going to suck Eric off is confidence I can only dream of achieving 💀💀) The lab scene was also cute but made me mad because how could Adam look scared, confident and still be a douchebag all in the span of a few seconds was beyond me. A+ acting on Connor Swindells part. I can see why Adam would have to stay in the closet and keep their... relationship?? a secret because it seems like Headmaster Groff would be a homophobic piece of shit and would add to the ever growing list of things Adam did wrong. Even so it doesn't excuse the fact that Adam is in fact a bully and Eric deserves much better. Was sad seeing Adam being driven off from Eric in the end tho. Eric thought that Adam didn't want to see him at all and was probably heartbroken and probably thinks Adam left because of him (my poor baby 😭😭). I feel bad for Adam too because he was just starting to express himself and was at the beginning of a redemption arc when he was just wisked away from the boy he's loved for what seems to be a very long time. I just want my boys to be happy and non toxic and I wish their relationship and them all the best in Season 2.
Eric Effiong is my favorite character in the show and I really want to thank Ncuti Gatwa for portraying him so well and for the shows writers who gave him a very fleshed out character with an amazing storyline and conclusion. His growth was incredible and his strength is immeasurable. I'm 100% certain that he will be a character the community remembers for years to come. Patiently now waiting on what's to come in Season 2 💙🙌🏾.

rk1k prompt: how long does it take for Connor and Markus to finally stop pining over each other, and what (or who) finally gets them together?
Thisone will be in headcanons bc I love varying pleasures
It takes them one year, two months and Josh to finally get over their asses.
They are ridiculously crushing on each other
Have been for ages
They spend hours on end talking to each other, they send each other messages during the day and all.
But they are also complete mess.
Markus once fell down the stairs because he heard Connor laugh from the other side of the room
Connor didn’t see this, thankfully
Connor faceplanted in front of Markus once. He was walking Sumo and Markus was running without a shirt on.
Connor’s systems stopped altogether so he stayed rooted in his spot.
Sumo didn’t stay rooted.
He started running after a squirrel and Connor just fell. Face forward, perfectly standing upright, planking and all around great fall.
He never went to this park again.
He can still hear children laughing at him when he closes his eyes sometimes.
Thankfully, they didn’t see each other that much for the first few months of pining.
Everything was fine, Connor was friends with everyone and he actually started letting go of some of his guilt
But he mostly stayed with Hank or at the police station so he only saw the Jericho Squad once a week really.
Also he didn’t want to go there too much because he never knows if he’s going to embarass himself in front of Markus. his systems seemed to be malfunctioning sometimes.
Then one day android haters ambushed Josh while he was walking down the streets, arms full of speeches, contracts, accords and other important official documents
Josh didn’t want to be aggressive but it became clear that he wouldn’t have a choice
Then Connor arrived and he kicked all of their asses without killing anyone
He had never liked violence but damn, that was impressive
Since then he developped a sort of hero crush on him and asked him to come over to Jericho more often to hang out and they should totally start tonight
Markus freaks out when he says that upon returning home
« Dude, chill I’m fine, Connor took care of them »
« I know that I started scanning you as soon as you entered the room but why did you ask Connor to come over ? »
Now Josh’s pissed and ready to defend Connor’s honour and reputation but then he sees the flush on Markus cheeks
Markus who’s also fidgeting a lot
« Oh right, I forgot about your little crush, well you’re gonna have to suck it up because Connor’s coming over tonight»
Markus squeaks and starts fretting over his clothes and hair
« You’re bald, chill »
So Connor starts coming a lot more. He hangs out with Josh on the regular now.
They have memberships at every theaters in town. Josh likes how the movies make him feel and Connor likes to think seeing humans interact will help him understand his emotions.
One day, they’re watching a movie in Josh’s room and Connor starts nodding off
Josh let him sleep and go off to finish working on some stuff he kept putting off
Then Markus goes in and sees Connor sleeping so peacefully
He freezes for twenty minutes, afraid he’s going to wake the other android up if he moves
Josh comes back and starts livestreaming the scene to the Simon and North
When Connor wakes up, Markus’s gone. He’s in Simon’s room complaining about « pretty curly haired puppy eyed men and their abilities to make him short-circuit »
Markus then decides to distance himself from Connor because he’s such a mess around him and he needs to get himself together.
So they still see each other and talk to each other but Markus doesn’t smile as much or lingers to speak with him and he’s weirdly professionnal
Connor on the other hand is moping.
His movie nights with Josh turn into moping nights. Full of rom-coms and horror movies. (It’s weirdly therapeutic)
Josh wants to hit Markus repeatedly for making Connor look this sad but Markus is also moping and weirdly intent on not talking to the detective.
Then there’s a reception with the Mayor and Connor is security.
He doesn’t do shit but stare at Markus all night.
One man is really drunk when they leave the reception and he starts being really rude to Markus
Connor’s in front of him in a second, staring down at the man and asking him to step away
Markus is the literal definition of heart eyes.
He wants to thank him and apologizes for being such a dick to him by avoiding him but Connor’s already leaving with the lieutenant.
Hank makes fun of Connor during the entire ride home.
« I don’t have a crush »
« Kid, I’m a detective, I know how you look at someone you want to bone »
« You’re insufferable lieutenant »
« And you want to have sex with android jesus »
« He doesn’t like me this way »
« I’m sure he’d like you in all sort of ways, sidewa-God why am I saying this I disgust myself »
Meanwhile, Markus is babbling about how cool that was and how Connor is probably the best android ever made and why did he even think that he had to keep his distance to protect their friendship or the well-being of androids, Connor is g r e a t and Markus want to be with him forever
Josh joins him because he’s the second biggest fanboy of Connor.
Simon threatens them with driving the car into a pole.
Markus relents and accept to just grow some balls and talk to the other android.
Connor keeps a list of some ideas to get Markus to notice him. Because he’s organized like that and he’s over Markus bullshit.
He talks about it to Josh one day and Josh makes fun of him but he relents and listen to him rant about how having a crush is so hard especially if the other person is so perfect but doesn’t seem to like you and it’s so frustrating.
Connor is ranting about loving this guy who he’s not supposed to love but he can’t help it
Markus overhears them as he’s gearing up to finally confess to Connor and he’s heartbroken. If he thought he had a chance it’s clear that he doesn’t now.
Still, he can be a good friend if nothing else so he’ll still go inside and cheer Connor up since he’s basically in the same position as himself and Markus knows how much it sucks so he’ll make sure the detective isn’t as crushed as he is right now.
Except just as he pumps himself up to go in there he hears Josh
« You do realise you can say it’s Markus,  we all know it and honestly I don’t blame you, I think everyone had a crush on him at one point. »
Connor says nothing for a long time and Markus has forgotten how to move, his stress levels are rising dramatically
« I mean, most of us had some crush on you at one point too, but have you seen yourself take down a man ? I’m not attracted to you but damn when you do that ?I would eat you up »
« Fuck off Josh »
« Gladly »
They don’t say anything for a few moments and Markus can imagine Connor fidgeting with his coin behind the door
« Don’t tell him, he has enough on his plate to worry about my feelings on top of it »
That’s when Markus decides to make himself known « Your feelings always matter to me you know »
Josh fake vomits « You fucker, that was so sappy I’mma throw up »
Connor doesn’t say anything but before Josh leaves he can see Markus sitting down on the couch next to Connor and he’s smiling timidly while Connor is freaking out, stress levels dangerously rising until Markus takes his hand in his and starts muttering some stuff he’s too far away to understand.
When he comes by a few hours later to ask them if they’d like to go to a concert North is dragging him to, he’s met with the sight of the two of them, curled up together on the couch
« Oh guys, you’re so cut-WAIT ARE YOU NAKED ? WHY ARE YOU NAKED ON MY COUCH EW GUYS GROSS GO AWAY »

No One Else (Connor Murphy x Reader)
Warnings: none
A/N: Ahhhh it’s been awhile my dudes. This was a very cool request and I enjoyed writing it, so you can request song fic if you’d like! Also, it changes from past and present tense so hopefully it doesn’t get confusing.
Word count: 1,243
“Hey,” an unfamiliar voice spooked you, “sorry, I didn’t mean to scare you.”
“It’s fine.” You replied as you turned around to see none other than Connor Murphy, the boy you’d least expect to see at a party.
“You looked lonely in this corner all by yourself and I thought we both could use some company.” He spoke as a nervous giggle escaped from his lips. Connor was right, you were lonely and all by yourself. You had shown up to the biggest end of the year party with your best friend, but she ended up ditching you to go play beer pong and God knows what else.
“What are you doing at a party, Murphy?” You joked and he smiled down at his cup full of booze, something you’d never seen before.
The moon -
First time I heard your voice
Moonlight burst into the room
And I saw your eyes
And I saw your smile
And the world opened wide
And the world was inside of me
And something you’ll never see again. Now, you can barely even look at him without becoming emotional. You loved Connor Murphy, every aspect of him made you deeply infatuated. The way his eyes would light up when he would talk, the curly, chocolate-colored locks that fell from his head, and that smile. That handsome smile of his will forever be etched into your memory. The way his lips lifted upward, the way his teeth perfectly aligned. Connor’s smile was a ray of sunshine, and you were only a sunburn.
“I don’t know what I’m doing here,” his tone was serious, “this isn’t me.”
“What do you mean?”
“I don’t belong here, at a party. Maybe I should just go.” He started to head for the door.
“No!” You interjected while grabbing onto his toned bicep. Thankfully, no one was paying attention to the scene you just made. Realizing what you had done, you quickly let go of the grip you had on his arm.
“I mean you can leave if you want. I can’t make you stay.”
“How about you join me, y/n?” His question caught you off guard. Connor then took your hand in his and before you could answer, he led you to his car. The inside smelled of cologne and old library books, a scent you’d never forget.
“Where are you taking me?” You asked after Connor made you put on a blindfold, telling you he was taking you to his favorite getaway spot.
“It’s a secret. It’s only a little longer, I promise.” He answered. Connor was right, but your anxiousness made it seem like it lasted forever.
“Okay, you can take the blindfold off now.” What lay before you was a part of town you’d never seen. It was absolutely breathtaking, the rolling hills with a painted sunset in the background left you in awe. You looked at Connor and saw a smile in his eyes, the most beautiful thing you laid your eyes on that night.
And I catch my breath
And I laugh and blush
And I hear guitars
You are so good for me
I love you I love you I love you I love you I love you
Now looking into the distance of those hills, all you can feel is an emptiness in your stomach. Thinking back to the night of that party, you can almost physically feel your heart tear in two. How he opened up and poured all of his feelings and emotions to you that evening is a memory that you can’t seem to forget no matter how hard you tried.
You and Connor had an open relationship, don’t get me wrong. But at one point when things started to get complicated, he stopped communicating. And when it got bad, your relationship went spiraling downhill quickly. Maybe breaking up was the best for the both of you. That didn’t mean you weren’t heartbroken. You were sure that you wouldn’t be able to love anyone like you loved Connor Murphy.
Gazing at the sunset, sitting on the hill where you guys loved to go to the most, tears welled up in your eyes.
“I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you.” You silently chanted to yourself. No matter what, you couldn’t let go him.
“Why did you bring me here?” You asked Connor.
“Why wouldn’t I? This is my favorite place and I thought I’d share it with someone special.”
“But I’m not that special.” You said unable to take the compliment.
“To me you are.” Connor said, looking down at your lips. And with that, he leaned in a kissed you softly. He broke away and spoke.
“I’ve been meaning to do that for awhile.”
“I didn’t know you felt that way about me.” You replied.
“You’re like the moon, y/n,” He said as he pointed up to the night sky, “You’re so bright and beautiful. You light me up in the darkest time.”
“I love you.” You blurted out, covering up your mouth realizing your second outburst of the night.
“You...love me?”
“I’m sorry, I shouldn’t have said that.”
“I love you too, y/n.” Connor said without missing a beat. As he said that, you stared into his blue eyes for what seemed like an eternity.
Oh the moon
Oh the snow in the moonlight
And your childlike eyes
And your distant smile
I'll never be this happy again
You and I
And no one else
We've done this all before
We were angels once
Don't you remember?
Joy and life
Inside our souls
And nobody knows
Just you and me
It's our secret
This winter sky
How can anyone sleep?
There was never such a night before!
I feel like putting my arms round my knees
And squeezing tight as possible
And flying away
Like this…
Regardless of how hard you tried, you couldn’t turn back time and erase this whole experience. It would be so much easier if you hadn’t agreed to join him on that Friday night. Because now he’s moved on, enjoying life with his new partner, while you’re stuck replaying every good moment you shared with him.
He probably won’t remember the fights and arguments. He probably won’t remember all of the yelling and screaming. He probably won’t remember how you laid awake at night curled up in a ball begging and pleading for him to come back.
Maybe he’ll remember the times he took you to that cute little coffee shop. Maybe he’ll remember the times that your mom told him how much she loved him. Maybe he’ll remember the times he took you to his favorite place.
It doesn’t even matter anymore. He has a new lover to keep his mind occupied with. All you are now is a distant memory, someone that Connor Murphy will never think about again.
Maybe he'll come today
Maybe he came already
And he's sitting in the drawing room
And I simply forgot
You had the opportunity to get to know and love Connor Murphy for a whole two years. In that time, two birthdays, Halloweens, Christmases, and numerous holidays were shared with the boy you loved the most. Although there are little reminders here and there, it still hurts to know he is sharing his soul with someone else. Maybe out separate path will diverge again someday, or maybe that was the end of our journey.

Highway Don't Care part 4
This is slightly longer...
The cabinet opened with a creak, revealing its empty shelves. Taylor scrunched an eye brow, trying to search for anything in the corners. She looked below at Olivia and Meredith circling her, their fur brushing against her ankles. They meowed in sync. “Alright, wait.” She said to the cats, walking out of the kitchen, “I’ll get you food, just wait.” She plucked her denim jacket and beanie off the coat hanger and pushed her fingers inside a pocket in the jacket. “Where’s my phone?” She asked herself. Meredith, who had climbed on to the kitchen island meowed with her paws on Taylor’s phone. Taylor walked over to retrieve it.
“Right…no, don't scratch it-yes, thank you.” It was crucial to have her phone with her now or else she would be in a lot of trouble with her mother. ‘Going to Whole Foods.’ Taylor quickly sent a text to her mother, as she walked out of her apartment and got in to her new car. She mouthed ‘whole foods’ at the two body guards who were standing near the car and they nodded. ‘Don't you even dare buy wine.’ Taylor laughed as she read her mother’s text. Taylor had decided on her own that she would stay away from alcohol for a while, she hadn't been given a probation by the authorities but she had been given severe warnings, and the whole lecture that a chief police officer gave her made her feel as though she was the bad kid being told off by the school principal. She didn't want to be the bad kid, she was radical but she was always a goody two shoes at heart. She drove with the warm afternoon breeze fluttering through the rolled down windows. She stopped at a Whole Foods, staring at the building   for a second. From the exit, a young couple walked out, they were the sappy, happy-go-lucky kind of couple, dressed in the same colored outfit. They were the kind of couple, that as you saw them, you would instantly feel envious of their love yet also be happy for the beauty of their love . So easy. So beautiful. “They are like Adam and I used to be.” She said. The words came with sadness. She shook the thought out of her head and instead thought of her hungry cats that waited for her to come home.
Conner, I’m famished too but we’re really close to the hotel.” Adam said as he drove through a familiar street. Everything was familiar to him. Nashville was the most unlikely place for him to feel at home in. “I just want a soda or a beer.” Conner whined “Nashville has the best steaks, you just need to stop at any restaurant.” “We can eat in the hotel for today, lad.” “My insides are eating my outsides, damn I should've just stayed at home And let someone else take the bloody pictures.” “Yeah? Then why did you come?” Adam was loosing patience, he felt like he was taking care of a bratty little brother. He wondered momentarily if this was how his own older sibling felt with him, when they were younger. “Because of the steak!” Connor said throwing his hands up in exasperation “and also because everyone made me to, they feel sorry for you..you lonely workaholic, but mostly, I just want pure Tennessee grilled steak.” “Lonely workaholic?” Adam questioned. “Yeh man, look at you…” Connor said casually “you got money, a big house, nice car but your family lives away from you, you got no girlfriend…I mean, guys your age should be settled down and married or something…” “I’m not a lonely workaholic..” Adam retorted although he felt the sadness crawling within him because he knew that everything Conner said was true. “You sure?” Adam saw the Whole Foods building, on the side of the street. “Since you’re being such a bitch about food..” Adam drove into the parking lot and stopped “I’ll get you a snack.” “Oh thanks, man.” Connor smirked and turned on the car radio, “I’m gonna chill here.” Adam got out of the car and entered the building. He walked through the aisle, breathing in the scent of newly baked bread and lavender air freshener. The scent brought a very precise memory into his mind. The memory of pushing a trolley behind Taylor, who was picking out food items. An old memory. Adam sighed and took a bag of barbecue chips from a shelf, as he did so he heard a familiar voice speaking, in the other aisle. A female, silvery voice, like what stars would sound like if they could speak. Taylor’s voice. He could see her through a gap between the bags of chips in the shelf, she was on the phone. He had expected to run into her, this was where she lived, after all. He had even rehearsed what he would say to her. But in this moment he became unable to speak at all, so instead he listened.
Taylor was on the phone with a very worried Karlie Kloss. “Urgh dude…I’m fine, I’ve been telling everyone that I’m fine.” Taylor said, looking at the shelves of cat food. “It was just a small accident.” “I know that you’re fine.” Karlie said,”I just wonder if you ever were actually fine.” “That doesn't make sense, Klossy.” Taylor said as she read the names of the cat food brands “stop being philosophical on me, I’m the songwriter, not you.” “I’m talking about Martha’s Snapchat story.” Karlie said and Taylor cringed in embarrassment. “Oh god, don't remind me, I regret that more that crashing to the side of the cliff.” Taylor sighed. “All those things you said, Tay, that's evidence to the fact that you are not over Calvin or Adam, whatever you prefer.” Karlie spoke loudly, and even though the phone wasn't on speaker, Taylor was certain that anyone close by could hear Karlie yelling. “Look, I am over him. I really am, I was just drunk.” She lied. Maybe one day she would actually be over him, until then she could just lie. “What even happened with you and him?” Karlie asked “you never talk about it.” “Well, Adam lost interest in me,I guess and I was too stupid to realize that,” Taylor sighed “I just kept being in love with him and I don't know…” Karlie stayed silent. “I just realized one day, that he doesn't really care at all. He was just too nice to tell me to get lost.” Taylor voice shook “I felt like I was a teenager, like I was this stupid, blind and oblivious girl who thought she met the love of her life and all that shit. And I have been that teenager, Karlie but I’m not some heartbroken teenager anymore, I refuse to be that…I left him. He didn't care. I think he was pretty relieved.” “Tay…I really wish we weren't having this conversation on the phone, I wish you were here in New York.” Karlie said “why didn't we talk about this before?” “Because it doesn't matter anymore, Adam Wiles is a nice enough guy but he is cruel and incapable of loving anyone.” Taylor said a bit too loudly “and I really don't want to see him ever again, I’m glad my car went and hit a cliff, I’m glad that I didn't drive myself to his house.” “Don't say that, you could’ve died.” Karlie said “and you two did make a wonderful couple, you had a spark, you know?” “Yeah..” Taylor rolled her eyes “a spark that became a flame that became a fire that burned it all down.” “That sounds like a good line for a song.” “Heh.” Taylor nodded in agreement, smiling “look, I’ll talk to you later. I have to get home to feed my cats. Love you.” She hauled off a bag of cat food and walked over to the register. She stood at the cashier, behind an elderly woman who had a cart full of probably one of every item in the store. She reached in the pocket of her jacket, it was empty, her eyes widened. “Dammit, I forgot my wallet.” She muttered.
“Adam Wiles is a nice enough guy but he is cruel and incapable of loving anyone.” Adam’s chest tightened. He had heard that before, it was the last thing all his previous girlfriends had told him, before they left him. Sophie, Rita and now,Taylor. Somehow, hearing Taylor say that hurt him more. Because he did love her. He loved her since the very first day, he loved her when she left, he loved her when she was gone. And it angered him to hear her say that he didn't love her. He wanted walk up to her and yell at her about all the times he had sacrificed his time and energy on making her feel loved. How dare she say that he didn't love her. Adam took a can of soda from a shelf, muttering under his breathe. He had come to Nashville hoping for a chance to meet her, talk with her, but he no longer wanted to do such things. “I’m playing the show then I’m never coming pack here.” He muttered, “Fuck you, Taylor Alison Swift.” Adam groaned when he saw her at the cashier, the exact cashier that he was about to line up at. She was everywhere. Out of habit, he watched her, she looked skinnier, making the denim jacket she wore look too large. Her right hand was wrapped in stretch bandage, the other held a bag of cat food. He wanted to call her name, just so he could look at her face. But he didn't. He was about to leave the checkout and go to one far away from her- “Dammit I forgot my wallet.” He heard her mutter. “Hi Taylor, cash or card?”The cashier, a teenage girl asked her. “Uh…” Taylor hesitated. Adam sighed. “Cash.” He answered, placing his items next to Taylor’s in the belt of checkout. “Put all the stuff in one bill.” The cashier began to scan the barcodes of the items. Taylor whipped her head back and her eyes widened when she saw him. There was a small red scar on her cheek, a souvenir from her accident, he assumed. That also explained the bandage wrapping her wrist. “Calvin…what-what are you doing here?” She asked. “Work.” He answered, then looked at the cashier and said “could you put the chips and the soda in a different bag? Thanks.” The teenager did so. Taylor was standing in front of him, staring up at him in shock and blocking his way. He reached for the shopping bag with the soda and the chips, his arm brushing against her denim jacket. “Move please.” He said and she scurried out of his way. He walked out of the building without another word.
I combined two chapter cause I really don't want the series to be too long and yeah...well, I start school tomorrow so I might get late with the updates but i'll try to get over with this story soon. thank you for reading.
