#i find the corner of fandom who are so deeply invested in johnny they need to perform wild mental gymnastics to make daniel responsible#for every ill that has ever befallen anyone on the show (including himself being beaten almost to death in high school)#deeply deeply DEEPLY tiring#(and partially why I can't yet enjoy daniel's imminent spiral / because I know these same folk will LEAP on it in extremely bad faith)#(and yes to be clear I'm talking about a specific type of bad faith character crit here. not just any character-crit/meta)#like of course he has flaws (I literally just reblogged a gifset of one of them)#of course he has made mistakes#he and johnny making mistakes is the show ITS THE WHOLE SHOW#but it IS possible to like..... just enjoy johnny and not shit on daniel. it's really amazing how easy it is#like it's possible to acknowledge they're both train crashes without making it a competiion of who is actually the worst#or doing a big ole capital r Reach on the narrative#it's possible to not make it about the other guy and just have empathy for both of them and why they're like That#I understand the urge the defend ones blorbo (obviously)#but like....... stop#love them both#it's fun#we're meant to be having fun i think
