hey there! i absolutely adore your blog, moreso because i ventured into it for the absolutely based darcy & elizabeth takes, but learned that you were somehow also ??? a faramir lover??? i'm sorry this is how people in soulmate aus must feel because holyyyy shit. you don't know me but i feel like your ramblings were custom made for me (in as non-creepy a way as possible).

you've somehow rekindled my love for lotr, which was a major part of my 8 yr old life. i only read lotr and the hobbit (the hobbit reading experience was also tainted because foolish 8 yr me read it off the high of finishing lotr, and went "wait it's about a dragon? that's it? ewww). but i am making time out of my schedule to reread and also finally read the silmarillion! so excited.

faramir was my first fandom blorbo and probably the one i still hold the most unrestrained, uncomplicated adoration for. i remember being an enthusiastic aragorn supporter until the end of return of the king when i realized faramir wasn't going to be ruling steward. then, i turned into movie boromir and just started muttering "gondor has no king. gondor needs no king." over and over. little me read a few lines about faramir and tossed aragorn out the window: "yes, i know you are a main character i've followed for a long time. i know you want this and basically everyone important & good in the novel supports you. but idc faramir would be a great ruler and who are you to show up out of nowhere and-"

probably the only person who left the happy ending of return of the king feeling so grumpy. i was the bitter guest wearing white at aragorn's wedding coronation.

anyways, all this to say that you are amazing, and elementary school me is feeling so much catharsis reading textually supported faramir appreciation.

I delayed responding because I really wanted to give this a properly thoughtful response after it made my day (Darcy/Elizabeth + Faramir stans unite!!!), but I've been busy and didn't have the time for everything I would like to say. However, I also didn't want you to think I'd missed it or been offended or something.

So thank you very, very much. I really appreciated receiving this, especially at a time when I'm less active. I'm glad you've enjoyed both the Darcy/Elizabeth and Faramir back catalogue (and my Aragorn naysaying haha) and your elementary school self is very right :D
