right!!!! i rmb watching the anime on tv back when i was small too but i didn’t understand anything,,,, just taichihaya😔 thinking about how it’s finally going to end after so long makes me soo sad💔 it’s gonna hit me hard like when haikyuu ended. ik a spinoff is coming but i hope it’ll center around the og cast and not some new characters who are inspired by chihaya or smth bc ahhhh i need more of my mizusawa team

i agree!! the fact that taichi’s importance was shown from even before the match (when chihaya imagined him at the shrine) made me crazy 🧎‍♀️+ taichi being the key for not only chihaya but also arata to win warmed my heart and it’s like they won together!!!

ALSO i saw the leaks too but it was only three panels and i don’t rly know the context 😭 i mean ik chihaya said THAT to yk who but im still kinda confused why he’s w his old hair(?) so like this whole time it was a lie ig(?) but anyway the whole calming herself down with taichi thing like you said was a hint from suetsugu✊ i’ve seen ppl hate on the decision saying chihaya should nvr have picked a boy/should’ve picked arata but i disagree.. im not being biased but the series have always explored chihaya and taichi’s relationship more than w arata and it just makes the most sense T-T

+ RIGHT. i’ve said this before, but until the last tournament, arata always felt like a distant goal that, once met, you wouldn’t rlly know what to do with it? almost god-like through chihaya’s eyes. for me, his relationships with other ppl like the meijin, shinobu, or taichi stood out more than his relationship with her (don’t get me wrong tho: though they are dear friends ☝🏻 bosom friends!). i get why arata would be a good pick in ppl’s eyes, but i never understood why taichi is still discredited beyond the initial rejection 😭 the symbolism and the spreads (esp in the past… ten?) are THERE
