You know about homestuck? Man I don't wanna sound demanding but I would really to know what you think of a EGS/HS crossover. Because I really like the idea, either the EGS cast dealing with sburb and troll bullshit or the HS cast dealing with magic. Of course if you don't have any that's fine.

I was there DAY ONE. I got into Hussie's stuff vis-a-vis Team Special Olympics and And It Don't Stop, I was reading Problem Sleuth live through the last 500 or so pages, and I was STOKED to see Homestuck start. BUT YEAH I have extensive EGStuck thoughts. FIC IDEAS POST-BREAK.

So I have two ideas, one leaning EGS flavor, the other leaning more Homestuck flavor. The first is THE UNIVERSITY.

Sburbless. The game constructs (IE Sylladexes, Strife Specibi) are a kind of magitek, same as the TF gun. The EGS crew and the kids knew each other via the internet through their formative years (Rose was Ashley's internet girlfriend), and arranged to go to college together at ANDREW HUSSIE UNIVERSITY (home of the Fightin' Weasels!). The trolls landed the year before, refugees of a broken empire that was in its death throes... oh, and they used the same magic. Publicly. Though some forms of transformation (EG bloodcaste alteration) were punishable by death before. The Uryuoms (who ARE interdimensional space aliens, same as the Alternians) had tangential contact with them and were able to sort of guide first contact so it didn't end in immediate war (and the Uryuoms come out of concealment at that point).

The story is mostly a slice of abnormal-life, with Tedd's magic lab trying to get to the core of what makes magic tick, Rose writing treatises on troll culture and how it's adapting to earth, and Karkat inadvertently (or possibly deliberately?!) flirting pitch with Justin (spoiler: they do, and it's messy and weird and awesome).

Other loose ideas for this setting:

Vriska is WAY more comfortable with human culture than troll culture after a very small amount of time. She's part of a small and vocal "fuck Alternia, we're earthling trolls now" movement.

Grace's origin is almost unchanged, BUT they used troll genetics for some of her brothers. Damien had tyrian-based mind control abilities that he used to make the researchers submit to his will.

Terezi decides she's going to be Sarah's friend five seconds after she meets her when Sarah slings Dresden-level snark back at her.

Sarah, meanwhile, is part of a WEBCOMIC CLUB... that only has her and Dave in it. She does The Wizard Sarah. Dave does Sweet Bro and Hella Jeff. The club does very little.

Elliot and Nanase take over the college STRIFE! club. They need to get a prof to be the official head of the club... and Tensaided isn't doing anything...

The JUST/HEROIC rule applies... to any fight with strife specibi involved. Hence why there's a STRIFE! club. You can't die in a college club sparring session. That would never be heroic, and if it's just you must be an INCREDIBLE piece of shit.

Vriska steers clear of the club. She knows what she's done.

No god tiers.

Idea two is a lot less... structured right now. Basically, the EGS crew sit down to play a game at the same time as Egbert and company. Things change dramatically from the Homestuck we know.

Tedd - who is really good at speedrunning - manages to save the Earth by functionally captchaloguing the entire planet before more than a few meteors hit. It's safe in his sylladex the entire story.

Ellen is Elliot's alchemized ecto-clone. It shouldn't have happened. It did. She's irritated about that, but... y'know... EXISTENCE, can't be too pissy.

TF happens via alchemization. There is a LOT of human alchemization in this timeline.

John and Tedd are the heads of the "Totally Cisgendered 100% Men Yup Totally Club Also This Isn't A Club". This goes about as well as you can expect, with John becoming June less than halfway through the story and Tedd realizing their genderfluidity.

Grace is TECHNICALLY Gracesprite^2, but ain't no one gonna remember that. She's Tedd and Sarah's sprites.

The looming threats in the background - Lord English and Lord Tedd - obliterate each other before they can become more than lore and signal noise.

most active muse: Travis and Emma, I've literally been really active around here (or as active as I can be which is not much) and left my other muses on very low activity, for now. best experience: In this blog it's honestly having people to interact with. I've had the chance to bring Travis to life, even, something I thought would barely happen and develop the ships I want as well as friendships I never thought my muses would have. Emma has grown even more on me and I wish to see the different nuances of her we couldn't see much in-game. My big highlights have been meeting: @foghidden before New Years came over and how quickly we clicked! I've been having a blast writing and just talking with you. I want you to know you're real special to me already and I hope you're having as much fun as I am! You're an amazing writer and your muses are amazing! It always feels like you understand your characters so well, as if you either relate to their experiences or have studied them well. You're also very inviting when we talk and so considerate, I love talking to you a lot and hope we can share more! @quarryhag You and your Dylan were one of the first interactions I had and honestly, I can't be any more grateful. It's been so amazing, I never thought I'd find a bestie for Emma, but I'm glad I did. You evoke Dylan in your writing so perfectly, it feels like I'm actually interacting with him. Hopefully, I also meet expectations because you're giving me amazing interactions both with Emma and Travis. Talking to you about our plot ideas or random videos we find and all that is really fun! Hopefully we can keep it up this year! @v4mpier You and all your OCs and muses in general! I was super psyched that you gave me the time of day. You're so dedicated to your muses, I'm glad I can be part of them and watch them grow! I'm so excited to see what you develop along the way. rp pet peeves: When people try to patrol what others like or rp, when people don't want to interact due to different perspectives that wouldn't matter in rp/writing (I respect it but I don't like it), really rigid rules, when people refuse to give others a chance to rp, etc. I'm just really chill in general, I want to write with others and have a good time. I don't mind boundaries set, as long as you're not rude about it and allow for me to be free with my other partners. Live and let live. If I bother you, block (or soft block, so I don't accidentally post at you), don't try to make drama out of it. I just hate how rigid things have become around here with most people, wish others were as open as before because this only makes people (it's me, I'm people) fear to approach and have more interactions when this is supposed to be simply a hobby for fun.

fluff,   angst,   or smut: Fluff or angst are my JAM! I'm really bad at smut so I don't include it, but I don't mind it as much if the other person doesn't mind me being mediocre at writing it lmao. Fluff and angst are just... chef's kiss, though! It's so nice for character development and I live for it and just interactions in general!

plots or memes: Both! I like random memes because I'm bad at plotting, but I don't mind trying my best if you prefer to plot, it's quite fun!

are you like your muses: I, initially had written that I am NOT AT ALL like Emma or Travis, so I asked about my traits and... I do have the same coping or reactionary mechanism as Emma when in face of dire/scary situations. I tend to be the token Mellow Fellow that remains outwardly "calm" despite being frightened and the one that tries to cheer others up with silly or cheery behavior. When it comes to traits I share with Travis, I seem to not be honest with my feelings and try to force myself to be mentally stronger and more detached just because I know I should be to keep myself protected. There's also a self-sacrificing factor in him that is a little hard to pinpoint, but it's still the same type I convey, I suppose. There may be some more but, I don't know of any other traits, at least not at the top of my head. This is one of the reasons why I wanted to develop them and see how it went for me (aside from growing really fond of the two). I WISH I had some of their good attributes, so to speak. I don't think I am like my muses in general, and maybe that's why I'm drawn to them. Since I can't keep myself out of Meteors fun, here's some nonsense: Eddie and Cassie trying to help with Roxy's aquaphobia by trying to get her to walk on (safe!) ice in the wintertime.

Meteors is fun! Glad you're having fun with it too cause it's great!!

Been thinking about this one and... honestly? I don't think Roxy would actually know what ice is outside of the cubes in your drink. Why would she? Nothing but ice in drinks would have ever been relevant to her before. She would probably know that ice melts and becomes water, but she would have never seen it in any other setting than a drink...

Which gives me the idea of her frequenting a park with a pond or mini lake or whatever, experiencing winter for the first time ever and stopping to think like. Why is there... not water here anymore? Where'd it go??? Did they just cover it over or something???? Ohhhh she can WALK on this!! Oh it's cold though... and slippy, actually. Huh... Calling Eddie and Cassie over to check out this cool thing on the water and they find her sliding on it like :D lmao

I like to make Eddie a bit of a worry wart. A very safety oriented guy, that is trying to make the unsafe things that Roxy does and deserves to do as safe as possible (such as an emergency phone, drilling on emergency numbers, first aid stuff, general rules he is praying she's abiding by in that death trap of a Pizzaplex) and oh the heart attack he had seeing her fucking around on literal thin ice oh ye gods lmao

The fun part is explaining this to her to get her off the ice. Just shouting what she's standing on and she's like "WHAT DO YOU MEAN IT'S ICE??? THIS ISN'T A CAFE!!" Gets off the ice, Eddie breaks through it with a rock and she's staring like O.O oh...

First winter is fun!! So is introducing Roxy to ice skating provided Eddie or a friend of his can make her some ice skates cause uh... that's the problem with paws for feet. Not really accommodated for :( and if they do this after the bit where she learns it's a large body of frozen water then she is scared what do you mean it's fun??? This is AWFUL why would you DO this are you all INSANE????

Cassie convinces her to come and try it after a long explanation of how an ice rink is made and... oh the sad dog noises... she is regretting every decision she's ever made... She's being constantly reassured as she slowly walks her way around the rink, clinging to the walls in case the ice breaks and there's water under it. "Roxy, it's okay! There's nothing under the ice but the floor!", "YOU DON'T KNOW THAT!!"

They might need to get an employee that works there to explain that it's just flat ice on the floor. It wouldn't be safe for the public otherwise! Roxy gives them the flattest look and says "I was an animatronic at Fazbears." and suddenly everyone in the vicinity has decided to never go to Fazbears again lmao that is not a promising sentence to hear

Pfft she is finally convinced - but still wary - that the ice isn't going to break and dunk her in ice water and she starts to let Cassie take her a little away from the wall. They're holding hands, arms out for balance and slowly building up speed the longer they spend there while Eddie is ahead guiding and encouraging them. When Roxy gets the confidence to go a little bit on her own, she falls... and yelps like she's stabbed or something. Eddie and Cassie immediately help as she scrambles and slips trying to get back up and when asked what she hurt (cause it must have hurt) she answers, "My FEELINGS"

They're both TRAITORS! She fell and the ice was wet why didn't they say anything?! Now her paws are wet and she can't stand wet paws how could they do this to her??? They sorta thought it would be obvious that if ice is made of water it's probably gonna wet that's their bad but they thought she broke her face is she for real-

Just sad dog noises as she keeps waving her paws around like a cat that stuck their paw in the water bowl and forgot there's water in there. "So........... do you want those mittens now?", "...... Yeah ;-;" They're all fine btw. Roxy was just spooked cause she didn't expect the water and immediately thought the worst in the moment. While she doesn't verbally apologise, she does tell them she's sorry about scaring them in her own little ways that she's learned. By this time, they probably understand what she's trying to say, and if not, then she says what she's doing it for if they ask. But anyway fuck that here's an idea

After coming down from the Spook of Ice being Wet, Cassie the absolute genius comes up with an idea to make this more fun. You know how at ice rinks they have those uhhh things for kids that can't skate that's like a penguin with handles and platform for them to stand on? Roxy and Cassie, to Eddie's never ending amusement and slight anxiety, take turns sitting on one while the other pushes it around. How hard they can shove each other across the ice depends on how long it takes for staff to stop them lmao they're still careful about trying to keep Roxy off the floor but with mitts on and her not falling as hard or suddenly and in a goofy silly way, it's not as bad.

Still bad though. The sad pupper noises return every time her fur gets wet from a fall until it's dried enough. They decide to go rollerskating next time. Less stuff to worry about there. I mean, who would put water under a roller rink, right?
