Yeah it's really difficult... I managed the 50wins with a 6iv Mimikyu (thank you for giftin me one!! It's amazing), 5iv Garchomp with megastone and Kartana with a good nature and ivs. Now that I have my old Team I want to try it again with them, but I wish at least the first battles were easier.
Well, we helped each other out, it seems!!
So, remember that eevee you gave me, that knew Wish? I bred it to get another (since I wanted to nickname my umbreon Luneth), and that gave me . . . well, Luneth. After losing at the Battle Tree I always reevaluated my team of three to see if I could make a chance somewhere, and ultimately I decided to swap Soleil (my espeon) for Luneth, so that Luneth could serve as a wall.
AND BOY, DID HE EVER.
Truth be told, Willow (my mimikyu) swept enough so that I didn’t have to rely on Luneth too much. But there was one battle in particular in which a Hiker had three ground-types, and Willow got taken out by an excadrill (that she had weakened a lot, mind you!), and I didn’t want to send Shiloh (my arcanine) out if I could avoid it, because she’s a fire-type and that would be bad. So I sent Luneth. He did eventually get knocked out as well, but between Wish, Moonlight, and Dark Pulse he finished off the excadrill, took out the next ground-type (I don’t remember what it was at this point), and managed to deal damage to the gliscor, which Shiloh was able to then finish off with a risky (but worth it) Flare Blitz. Seriously, Wish and Moonlight---plus Luneth’s proper EV training and hyper trained Defense, Special Defense, and HP stats---were a lifesaver.
And he helped against Red, too! Because Willow took out Red’s charizard and lapras, but thanks to his lapras using Thunder, his blastoise was able to take Willow out. Obviously I didn’t want to send Shiloh against a blastoise if it could be avoided, so I sent Luneth, and since Willow had already dealt some damage and Luneth’s defenses are amazing, two Dark Pulses polished off the blastoise. :D
So we helped each other, it seems. Thank you so much for giving me that eevee! ♥ But yeah, the Battle Tree is ridiculously hard compared to the Battle Maison, to be incredibly honest. The Battle Maison (at least in ORAS) was a piece of cake, but this? Holy biscuits, this is hard. Trainers do not fuck around at the Battle Tree, it seems. No level 50 caterpie here. Instead, Serebii says there’s a trainer named Abel who has nothing but legendaries, what the fuck. Battle Tree is Serious Business™.
