narilamb for ship bingo? bc you talking about a pair of fucked up animals made me think of these two fucked up animals
Ha! You are very right that when it comes to fucked up animals the Lamb and Narinder are definitely some of the most fucked up of them all, anon. That said, when it comes to narilamb I guess that while I like the ship in general & am pretty intrigued by the possibilities, whether I like it or not is really one of those case-by-case basis things. Because of the personal decision making that goes into how people play it out, for all my love of horror there are still things in cutesy little murder cult animal world someone might decide to highlight the elements of in their interpretation that squick me out.
THAT SAID, I do think that besides narilamb having a good advantage above other fucked up ships for resting on the darkly humorous premise of "a god wanted to kill me so I killed him instead and made him my malewife," I also do appreciate that from what I've seen narilamb shippers are pretty chill in both A) not harassing the creators of COTL to make it canon no matter what and not acting like people who don't like it are idiots, and B) approaching it with much more of a "haha! that's messed up!" attitude than many another fandom who says like "dark" ships & then twist themselves into knots insisting that everything's totally cool and fine actually no matter how many atrocities one half of the ship might be inflicting on the other.
For me at least, the most important elements for an messed up enemies-to-lovers plot to work is it being funny & that the creators are fully cognizant of the more horrifying elements instead of frantically sweeping said messed up parts under the rug and hoping everyone's okay with pretending they're not there. And at least from where I'm standing narilamb is a pretty stellar example of that <3
