chipspeech rambles so i dont explode

hi this is prolly gonna be a long post that makes no sense srry i just need to brainrot dump. but most important thing if ur not weird and you like chipspeech PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE dm me here so i can give you my discord or instagram where i am actually active more ahhhhhh.

ok anyway blue robots woohoo. these little bastards have been stuck in my brain for like a month now and its just gotten worse. the cool thing about chipspeech is it like doesnt entirely go with the rest of the vocal synth/vocaloid fanbase but rather than being its own seperate things its like this neat little extension of it in like multiple ways. it not only is just a really cool software that tried a lot of new cool things that we dont really see with like vocaloid and synthv and stuff but it also kinda shows the history of how we got to the point of modern vocal synth software in a cool way! even if you dont dive into it like i have you still get the basic “oh well voder was made in like 1939 and it had to be operated by hand how cool” and like through chipspeech you kinda get to see the evolution of how we got to where we are now and i think that thats really neat. 

but then if youre a nerd like me you get to have a ton of fun diving into all of the history and cool old tech stuff. liking chipspeech has made me find a new interest in old computers/tech/software/videogames do i fully understand how they work? hell no! do i love looking at them and having them explained to me by some dude on youtube? hell yeah!! and like its just so cool to go in and research the machines/softwares that inspired the chipspeech bots because even though its difficult sometimes you get to see these advances made and how each one differs from each other in how it was made, how it was operated, its function, etc. and thats SO. FREAKING. AWESOME. like dude have you seen the video of one of the tests for the votrax?? (the one that bert gotrax is based on) if you havent basically it was made so that people with disabilities so they couldnt talk could have conversations over the phone. they tested it by trying to order a pizza using only the software. it took like 3 tries before someone took them seriously and they got the pizza. and the moment they were like “yeah deliver that to the msu computer center” i got so excited cuz that just felt so badass!! like put yourself in their shoes, its 1974, you’re testing your new speech program, and it finally worked. a room full of people, a camera, a news broadcast (iirc), theyre all watching you struggle to order this pizza and then you finally do it and get to tell them to deliver it at the lab you just proved your intelligence to and fehjvddsujfs i cant explain my thinking but DUDE its just so cooooooolllllll!!!!!!! 

but like yeah i need to rant cuz in one of my lovely friend’s words i need to “GET THESE QUEERS OUT OF MY BRAIN!!” (a silly thing my irl said) also like i love the way the voices sound. like yeah sometimes i have no clue what theyre saying but thats not the point of chipspeech!! like vosim has such a nice buzzy voice and like dee no matter their range just sounds so.... great. i dont even know how to describe it it just makes my brain sooooo happy. like sam to most people would be like static weird... idk man but i loooove the staticky sounds theyre just so neat. but its so hard to find nice chipspeech covers/songs. luckily im starting to find how to discover chipspeech stuff but its still so difficult :(

and like fanart and general fan content toooooo how do i find it?? i think the answer is i dont but that makes me sad. cuz the twitters are no longer active and its never been very popular so it doesnt seem like we get much. and literally the only discord server for chipspeech is run by... not-so-great (from what ive seen/heard) people in the fanbase. even if the main accusations arent true it still seems to be a safe space for proshippers which makes me feel icky sooo. help.

ok, my tips are!!:

draw as much as possible! even if it’s just lines and shapes with no meaning, you’re still developing your hand/eye skills

BUT: dont draw if you’re not feeling it! if you’re feeling fried, it’s better to take a break. go on a walk to somewhere scenic, read your favorite book, listen to some new music, hang out with friends, or just take a nap! rest up and find some inspiration! you can come back to your sketchbook when you feel energized again

draw stuff that you like! you’ll improve way faster if you’re passionate about what you’re doing

look at art you like with a critical eye. try to examine the different components and figure out what you think works or doesn’t work. try incorporation those components into your own work

read a lot of tutorials and other resources, but take what they say with a grain of salt

ultimately, remember that the only real rule to drawing is that doing it should make you happy

Ok I wanna talk about a dream

I have this... Reoccuring dream... Rarely happens... Havent gotten it for a few years... Though this one was slightly different, the whole usual dream was still there... Just some other stuff was tossed in that isnt very important.

It starts around the time of WWI (weird right?) Me and usually 2 other random people (this time it was grunkle stan from gf and max from camp camp... Extra weird... Usually its girls with me)

Okay, we were taken as prisoners, hands tied and everything... Except the guards suck at tying ropes so we can easily get in and out of the bonds.

Anyway, we get to this... Beautiful house... 2 or 3 stories, really fancy, white paint... Who ever owns the house is RICH.

This is the fuzzy part of the story, always fuzzy and can change slightly depending on what my dream wants to move too

Ok so me and the others use our bindings to disguise ourselves (they had put cloth over our hands before tying) this... Was rather useless as once we got up, we immediately began getting shot at so of course we run. Theres this large steep hill, we roll down into a river, full of other people who are going somewhere.

(This is where it strays from its typical path, but i guess ill still write it all because it makes things make sence...kinda)

Its just me and the crowd, i dont know what happened to the other two... We arive on a shore, a large muscular woman (like Jasper... But shes human) has some kind of attraction to show the crowd... (Things are now in present time btw)

This shits a scam, i dont remember what the attraction is, because the scam is in the drinks/food.

$20 for a drink of mtn dew... And i dont mean a bottle of soda, i mean a SIP of the soda. This is how all the drinks are priced.

The crowd and i (has grown quite smaller, as we were put into groups for the small rooms of the attraction) begin to throw everything on the drink bar at the employee. Understandably he's upset, but its because hes losing product. This guy knows full well how its a huge scam and is enjoying that its a scam.

I end up destroying the attraction, and punch jasper lady in the face.

The woman (dressed pretty fancy, her hair is tied up in braids against her head, a tight purple dress, matching heels) begins to run toward a car, calling for me to follow her.

Okay... I follow her to the car and get in... The drivers seat (irl i cant drive a car, in dreamland? I kinda can...barely).

The woman instructs me on where to go, but wont give me a basic explanation on where we are ACTUALLY going.

We eventually pull up to... The fancy house from before, no military equipment around it, still looks amazing.

The woman grabs my wrist and draggs me through the house, up to the main bedroom where theres a small, broken shoe locket in the corner. The woman goes up to it and disappears (:0 she was a ghost?!)

(Like.. The locket is in the shape of a high heel, the toe of the shoe is broken, the locket part is where the 'foot' would go into the shoe)

I pick it up, and close the locket, i recognize it and start to tear up. Its from my childhood (ive never had a locket like this). I sit on the bed, a dog and cat show up.

I find out this woman (the woman who brought me to the house) in WWI has, for some reason, left all of her possesions to a girl who wouldnt be born for several years, and who could take the house in 2017.

(I'm a boy btw? So... It's weird that my dreams still refer to me as a girl sometimes... But i havent had this since i found out i was trans so... I blame that)

Okay I shouldve pit this before, but.. Why did i get the house?

Well its because I helped the woman.

As a kid (probably 10/11) I go back in time with... Two people, a boy my age, and a man who made the devise that brought us back. The man is nowhere to be seen, i just know he was supposed to be but we lost him some how.

This woman is losing her house in the war. Like the military wants to use the land and stuff.

I have no idea how we help this woman, but in the main bedroom, theres a secret entrance to.. Some kind of agency. The boy and i go into this entrance quickly (its where i lose the locket, though this part processes it as a shoe). After we get into the agency place, the dream jumps to something else. So... Idk how I helped this woman enough for her to leave all her posessions to me but... I did... Somehow.

In the first dream I remember from last night, i was hanging out with a friend of mine from high school, Karina. I havent seen or spoken to her in years and i always thought she was kinda a bitch, but she was nothing but nice in this dream. I also met her brother (irl shes an only child) who was tall and hairy with glasses and only wore boxers around the house.

In the 2nd dream i remember, i moved into a new apartment, just me and rosie, but then neighbors kept stopping by (i guess they were friends with the prvious tenent and had a key) and they would just sit down and start watching tv like i invited them. They were all really nice so i figured it was okay. By the end of the night it turned into a full in house party with like 50 people who just kept stopping by. Then Jose comes over, drunk, with a car full of people and im like “Jose this has to stop!” He just laughed and said “Its all gonna be okay” and kept partying and high-fiving people. I ended up just leaving.

The 3rd dream i remember from last night involved me going to Italy to study abroad again. I was with my friends walking around when i got seperated from them and tried asking locals for help finding them, but my italian had gotten so rusty that i could understand what they were saying to me. Eventually i ran into them at this japanese art show and i also ran into more old friends that i hadnt seen in a while (Christina Simpson, Katie Jackson, and Kat idk-her-last name, my brother). I remember coughing bad and thinking “great ill probably need to get my tonsils taken out while im in italy” but then i just woke up and drank some orange juice to sooth my dry throat. While in italy there was a moment when i was in a car driving on a bridge that went up miles and miles above the city, it just kept going up, and i was terrified to look down. I think i made myself wake up just so i wouldnt have to drive down it.

Another moment was that i was going on a trip to universal with peoole from high school, people from work, and other people. I was sharing a hotel room with Jose and Gabe (the brazilian from roccos) and we all laid down for a nap and they woke up and took the ferry to the park with everyone and left me in the room! So i had to float on a raft down the river, hop off, find the train tacks, and then i found this beaten down train station that had a ride that would take you to the park. You have to sit on this plate that would float you through the ride and you also had to hold onto this pool ball but it was impossible to hold onto the plate and the ball at the same time so i just put the ball up my butt for the time being and then floated through this weird ass ride. I dont remember much about it but i do remember there were zombie-llamas in it. Anyway i had finally arrived at the park so i started trying to find my brother and friends and this older guy started flirting with me and thats when my brother came up and shoed him off. Yay! I finally found my friends and we were gonna enjoy the park! I found chocolate in my pocket and started eating it in line. And then i woke up.
