THEY DO DATE...kind of? it's usually pretty spontaneous, emet-selch will just decide he's tired of hanging out in the inn room and grab k'oto and just kinda teleport them somewhere else, anywhere else really! they're always together at night so theres not really any chance of running into scions and they both kinda. know the exarch is watching no matter what (k'oto just tries not to think about it and emet hopes to god he is always bc he thinks its funny to piss him off, grandpa fight!!) but even so they tend to stick to more. empty places? scenic corners of the first and such where they can just be alone together without being bothered and enjoy the views....usually comes with a little history lesson from emet selch too if k'oto isnt feeling bold and decides to interrupt him with a kiss 🥺 every so often theyll hit up a more populated area, never in the crystarium though bc thats just Too close to everyone else and even tho emet really doesnt give a shit k'oto does and he gives a shit about him so.....he does what hes gotta! they like to hit up the hot springs/resort type place out in lakeland a lot! the springs are delightful and its also kind of a cute little cafe so its just good for hanging out...esp at night where theres really not many people around at all and they get it all to themselves <3 the tea is pretty mid and k'oto doesnt even really like tea at all but it tastes better together teehee

i think they could probably convince the viis to lend them a hammock to chill in without being bothered too, they seem like theyd mind their business and not even really understand why theyre being asked to keep a secret in the first place and brush it off as them just being timid lovers or smth teehee

theyd never even think about calling it dating. no way in hell. if either of them (probably k'oto) let that word slip it would be over emet selch would be gone immediately and k'oto would be left wherever he'd taken him to walk/teleport home himself bc thats Dangerously Close To Having To Deal With Their Feelings but. lets be real. its dating they go on so many cute little dates
