I feel like you get a lot of weird and oddly specific requests, what’s the strangest one you’ve ever gotten?

i dont wanna put anybody on blast so im not going to divulge but yes, i do get a lot of very specific/strange [for me] requests - this is why i had some modifications to my rules and normally i would tell people if its too far gone [for me]

i stil feel bad rejecting those requests though [sob] but sometimes i reach the breaking point for certain things just bc they dont intrigue me/are too detailed which then to me makes me go "well you've already written it i dont feel like i can contribute anything productive to this conversation/i fear not pleasing you because i can tell what direction you want me to take this but i dont wanna go there"

lapidot analysis following the bomb

i feel like people are misinterpreting a few things with this bomb and i just wanna throw in my two cents. hopefully it will reach those confused souls

anyway, lapis didn't KNOW that peridot was sacrificing her own feelings for lapis' sake. and she didn't approve of it! its unfair to say that their relationship is just peridot giving and lapis taking because of that. its poor communication, the literal most common bane of any human relationship.

this is more speculation, but i think lapis was much more hurt than angry when peridot told her that. lapis thought she and peridot were making a decision together-- that they were moving forward together. the connverse parallels keep piling up and i think she felt like connie felt. both peridot and steven had good intentions in what they were doing. in the case of lapis and peridot, lapis was hurt because the person she trusted more than anyone else had been hiding her own pain-- had been hiding it. knowing her i won't be surprised if she feels guilt for this despite it being out of her control. i think that's why she bolted so suddenly, taking the barn with her. what if she felt inadequate and undeserving of peridot, knowing that peridot felt she couldn't tell lapis things because she didn't want to upset her?

ive also seen a lot of people claiming that lapidot is one sided after raising the barn. no it isnt, just because peridot's feelings are blatantly obvious it doesnt mean lapis doesnt have them either. i mentioned this in a more lighthearted post but lapis was perfectly willing to spend THE REST OF TIME ITSELF living in the barn in space with peridot and pumpkin. like. what. can u MAYBE chill lapis holy fuck take her on a date first. ive got friends I MIGHT consider renting an apartment with. but that is just the most extra romantic shit ive ever seen. not even steven-- she wasn't even going to take steven. just peridot and pumpkin for eternity-- her family. this kind of belongs, as probably most of this post does, in a separate character study for lapis but we must remember that she is very self sufficient. as long as we've known her she has been alone, surviving by herself. when she moved into the barn with peridot, though, that changed. Diamonds targeting earth? welp, this was a nice thing-- gotta go to space now. let's go peridot!

LIKE!! peridot is with her now. peridot is her family. lapis no longer thinks only for herself, but for her family.

which is FURTHER evidenced in raising the barn by the frankly amusing discussions early in the episode, where peridot was all "but we can't leave x!!!" and lapis was just "we can BRING x" all exasperatedly. they were literally fukkin married I can't believe.

and then lapis LITERALLY just fucking raises their home JUST because peridot wanted it.

im too lazy to find gifs but. when lapis looks at peridot and says "there! now we can bring our old life with us-- you, me, and all our things!" all happy like. That just fuckin guts me.

those are the things that are most important to lapis. those are the things she doesn't want to live without.

GOD i really meant for this to be clearer but i still hope i could convey what i believe is going on between those two, and how they both made mistakes. but they're mistakes that can be fixed. thx for coming to my ted talk
