i got reeaally obsessed with all sorts of beetles a while ago, to the point where i had a fanclan named beetleclan and everyone was named after specific kinds of beetles. i remember distinctly having scarabshine and weevilheart (my favorite beetles at the time) and i introduced them into a rp group.

guess what!!!! they kicked me out bc of scarabshine, because it was egyptian appropriation somehow? like yes, i understand that scarab beetles are traditionally depicted in egypt but they’re everywhere i promise you! they love manure and compost!!!! scarabshine was essentially just saying she was a shiny shit-loving cat!!!! (/hj)
