something in dead boy detectives that surprised me was how much the horror aspects of it actually HIT. like the time loop with the killer dad was so hard to watch and even tho it isnt strictly horror related, edwins scream for niko was so harrowing it made me physically sick

#this is all a positive btw!!!#yeah there is lot i want to commend edwins actor for but that scream is at the top. hes rlly good #this show has a lot of gore obv but gore doesnt affect me so it was fine #some of the most unsettling aspects of the show to me in addition to the stuff in the post: the escalation of crystals confrontations #with david. the lead up to edwin getting sacrificed and the summoning. charles's slow death #EVERYTHING to do with edwin being trapped in the town. yeaa there were obv many general 'scary' moments but these are just #some of the bigger things that contain multiple aspects #i just think this show has like the perfect distribution of unsettling/silly/thoughtful/heartwarming #uhh i dont know what the definition of horror is. i use it here to mean like 'something unsettling and makes you want to escape a situation'
